Big City Adventure: Shanghai Walkthrough

General Tips & Tricks

A few tips and tricks are always good to know when traveling abroad. Below you’ll find a number of general tips and tricks covering how the game works.

Click on the Menu button to access your Options. You can access Options via the Main Menu or during hidden object scenes.
By default, zoom locations being shown is toggled off. You can change this setting at any time via the options menu. Changing this setting will have the locations highlighted with sparkles. Zoom locations are outlined in the screenshots in the guide below.
Objects listed in blue in the guide below are hidden in these zoom locations.
Some items may be listed as a riddle instead of the actual item name. For example, “A Puzzling Piece” referring to a jigsaw puzzle piece. You can toggle this feature on or off at any time via the Options menu.
Game difficulty can be changed at any point during the game via the Options menu. The game features two modes: Timed and Relaxed. Time mode will give you a limited amount of time to complete a hidden object area. Misclicks can decrease your time given, but there are also higher rewards. Relaxed mode does not punish you for misclicks, but will not provide extra bonuses, either. It should be noted multiple Achievements are only available in Timed mode.
To complete each round, find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen and click on them within the hidden object area. If you find objects quickly, you may receive a bonus.
For each location you complete, you will receive a memento of your visit. Collect all the mementos to complete your Big City Adventure. You can move your mouse cursor over a memento in the round select screen to enjoy it fully!
Bonus Coins are hidden throughout the game and can give you various bonuses, such as additional hints, puzzle skips, or score boosts. There is an achievement for finding all Bonus Coins hidden throughout Big City Adventure: Shanghai. The locations of all the Bonus Coins are shown in yellow circles per round in the guide below.
Qilins are a mythological creature hidden in jade form in each of the game’s hidden object areas. There are 60 total. Each of their locations are revealed with a green circle in the guide below.

Big City Adventure: Shanghai Walkthrough

You may not have a tour guide on your trek through the city, but our walkthrough will guide you through the various locations Shanghai has to offer! Each round features lost coins and a legendary jade qilin hidden in plain view. You will find both these objects circled and outlined in the guide below.

Round 1 – 10

Round 1: Zhu jiajiao

Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen. Objects listed in blue are hidden within a zoom area. The blue zoom area is located within the basket in the boat on the left.
There are no bonus coins in this location. The qilin 1/60 is circled in green and located at the back of the boat on the right.
