Shopping blocks is one of the best games I have ever played. I love time management games, and this one takes the cake! It is challenging but not impossible. You can think outside the box and be creative!! I am not at all sorry I bought this game and look forward to a sequel. Have fun!

Good game concept but graphics, controls and lack of selection (especially for store decor) is lacking. You basically are designing the layout of a store, you get to choose different types of racks, displays, decor to put in your store and then you let the customers in. It seems like they always flock to one display in particular and overcrowd it, no matter how many various displays you put in. I guess it could be the customer type, I hadn't really thought of that until I read another review here. It is awkward to drop something once you pick it up, it is also awkward to rotate items. Both have buttons off to the side you must utilize. Once placed, if you want to move an object, it's the same thing. The store decor is severely lacking - you end up putting a window or picture on every ounce of wall space just to satisfy the requirements rather than have any real strategy into their input. Again, it is a cool concept and was semi enjoyable - but it seems like there are too many things that, if executed better, could have made this game a real winner but seems to fall short. Also, the shop (compared to the size of the lot size) is rather small - would have been nice to see this game closer up or have more of the currently underutilized ground to work with).

Shopping Blocks is without a doubt a unique yet somewhat flawed game. The possibility to create your own shops with floor, walls, decorations, and shop elements such as sporting goods, clothes or media articles is certainly an interesting idea that had neither been realized before nor ever since the release of Shopping Blocks. The game is challenging, graphics and sound are still okay for today (2011) standards, and the variety of items you can implement is absolutely great. The only issues I had with the game were the unclear controls which include wrongly registered clicks on a regular basis and the impossibility to overlook all your customers when shops get bigger. This sometimes means frustration instead of healthy challenge, but all in all the game still is as addictive as anyone can wish for and it's just a blast to create a bustling and efficient shop time and time again.

Enjoyable but some levels had to be replayed several times to complete the goals. A little more difficult than I would expect this simple a game to be. Overall playing it was enjoyable though.

This game has both characters of a time management game: clicky and thinky. You have to be fast, but there is a great feature: the pause button. You can pause during the game to set up racks and restock, though the restocking only starts when you hit play or fast forward again. Picking up objects and rotating them (you can do with right click) during pause are much better than while running. A lot of clicking involved in this game, my hand hurt if I played too long :P. Satisfy the customers' needs seem to be the hardest part, since the last levels, you can't lose any customers, and many of them are very demanding. However, it's not supremely hard and can be done after a few tries. I like the idea of decorating the place, but I found the decorates so inadequate. It would be nicer if the game has more choices and more strategy toward decorating rather than just putting stuff up to fulfill the requirement. This is a good game to play, I enjoyed it. However, I actually would like to give it only 3.5 stars because of its lacking. If you have FunPass, give it a try, though I don't think I'll purchase this game.
