So many strategy--hidden object games have the player wandering around doing inane things just to call it a game. This is the first strategy game I've played that actually made some sense, and is designed for the player to succeed rather than be frustrated and quit. Note that the HO part is minimal, fairly easy, and at least the hidden object games relate to the story. The game is player-friendly with prompts in each scene, such as arrows that indicate your next direction, and a magnifying glass that appears on its own to draw you closer for a look. But I especially liked that once you've completed your tasks in a scene a large bubble pops up that says "area cleared," so you're not wasting time wondering if you've gotten to everything. The platinum edition has a button at the top of the screen with a built-in walk-through which I didn't use, but did check out. (The clues in the pictures were a little hard to see.) But frankly the Hints button does a pretty good job of helping you along, which isn't always true in games. Likewise, the storyline does a good job of guiding you through the tasks, which are interesting and fairly easy to complete. Overall, this is a doable game for people who are good at strategy games, and those who are not. Just don't expect much HO action. Graphics and animations in some areas were not quite up to 5 stars, but I wouldn't let that keep you from giving this game a try.

I loved the first Empress of the deep so much that when I saw the sequel I had to try trial! I wasn't let down. the graphs were just as good just as the first one! Plus more! Some parts of the game made me think about what was needed in order for me to continue the game. Love the extra part that really has the walk through attached to the book! That was really helpful, but if you can get through without using it then bravo to you! It's much funner that way! I must say though the plot kept me thinking until the very end and I do mean the end! The bad side WAY TO short! Hopefully there will be a third sequel to this amazing game with the beautiful graphics and twisted plots!

I played this game in the basic version first and gave it five stars. I have given the platinum edtion four stars only because I don't think enough was added to the game to make it worthwhile. The tapes showing Pandora's evolution into madness or evil don't really add a lot if you played the original game. But I did like the additional Zem scenes at the end as well as the Zem game itself. The story line, music, graphics, and variety of scenes lend themselves to a top quality gaming experience. And prominently featuring animals with realistic sounds just added even more pleasure. Now that I own this game, I will play it many times just out of sheer enjoyment.

The wait was well worth it, and the game lived up to the first in terms of game play. Graphics were beautiful. The story was engaging, but slightly weaker than the first. The only annoying thing was the delivery of the main character's dialogue; at times, I really thought she was going to break into "Valley Girl" talk. Like totally, for sure... minor pain point, nonetheless. As for the Platinum Edition, the few extras were fine but not necessarily worth the extra money. Fans of the first one should enjoy this follow up.

This is finally another game that requires something besides just clicking on hidden objects. It requires puzzles to be solved and backtracks to complete tasks. It is much like my favorite games of the initial dream chronicals series. I really enjoyed it.

This is one cool game. Great art/graphics and music. The storyline as well is well done. It is very involved, but that is part of the fun in playing it. Evil twin sister is done, so it is up to you to restore all the terrible things she did to the star palace and the people there.
