As with several of these types of games (Aveyond, etc), this is a turn based RPG. The storyline is good and the characters are cool. The KI skills graphics get a little annoying after awhile - and also the fact you can't see how close your opponent is to losing (you can see your HP's - not theirs). The only real issue with the game is that it is reasonably short (I played the whole game in most of an afternoon/evening) and that it is a little easy (I never lost a battle through the whole game). Oh - and the game creators have indicated that it may be most of a year before the sequel/Episode 2 comes out. I want to know what happens next NOW!!! Well worth the time and well worth the download!

I am a very picky person. A game has to really catch my eyes for me to play . So far only two games have captured me and that's Alpha Kimori being in the top. This is most certainly a five star game and one I would recommend to anyone looking for something that takes time, thinking, and fun all creatively wrapped into one game. So here it is folks, get on it and get to playing, I promise you'll totally be addicted ^^ -Amanda

This is a nice game. I liked the story line, the characters, and the scenery. Most of the action is your basic turn-based fighting scenes. Each turn you can pick which monster or person to attack, if there is more than one, and which weapon to use. I like the turn-based system more than the keep-on-slashing while the monster is slashing at you system, because it is more relaxing and controlled. As I conquered more and more monsters, my maximum energy, hit power, and defense increased so I was able to take on more and more powerful enemies. When I got tired of fighting or when my character was low on life energy and/or KI energy, it was very easy to just by-pass the monsters, by walking around them instead of directly into them, and go on with the story line. I also enjoyed exploring the different environments with interesting scenery. The graphics are not very sophisticated. They are not any more advanced than the games developed 15 years ago but they are likable. Time is spent exploring each area to find KI jewels, monsters to fight, people to interact with, and the exits to the other areas. The story line might have been better if it was less linear, so that I could decide on my own what to do next and how I want to develop my characters, but it kept me interested. I was anxious to find out what happens next. I was not happy with the end which came after a series of long and tedious battles. I was glad when I had finally conquered the last enemy, and was ready to go back to the story, but it just said "continued in the next episode" and started rolling the credits.

This game really takes me back to the good old days of RPG's. Yeep! I don't know how I am going wait for episode 2. Or if there will even be an episode 2. I wish they had just released the entire game all at once. I liked how you could see the battles coming, but not at how easy it was to level up. I remember when they used to make you work for it! ** SPOILERS AHEAD ** I found it confusing how the areas would sometimes change back and forth. Like the graphics for the sunny meadow area - why alter it slightly and then change it back? When you had to rescue Josh, for example. I am a little bit confused about Karin as well - I thought maybe once I defeated her, maybe she would join the party or something, but nope . . . maybe her role in the game will be made clear in episode 2? I really like the graphics, music, and I also like the little side quests. I checked the 'Original' box for gameplay only because I feel that Rick is the most undecisive hero in a game that I have ever seen. Usually you go into battle, and it's like "Yes! Let's kill the bad guys!" . . . except there were no bad guys, because Rick couldn't choose sides. I did feel a little bit guilty whenever I killed a Ki creature in battle. And I was a little bit shocked when Ricks father said that he would kill him . . . I mean really? That's pretty extreme.

For an RPG game this is definitely short - I finished in 5 1/2 hours, and that wasn't rushing things. Story is reasonably well developed, there are some side quests which are OK, but nothing outstanding. If you want a pleasant way to pass a bit of time, this definitely fits the bill; if you want something with a bit of challenge, then I think you will be disappointed.

Cute graphics (not the glamorous one though, it's a 2D basic), nice music/sound (though I would like it more if the characters are voiced during the game), interesting story. If you like simple RPG, this is the one. If you expect more like polished graphics, 3D RPG, or higher standard, you may be disappointed. Personally, I like this game (I'm pretty easygoing on RPG). However, it is just a part so it is pretty short, even with plving time (I got to about lvl 40 :P). So, having FunPass is fine, but to purchase, I would wait for the bundle version.
