Windows Vista has a backward compatibility problem with many older software applications, like our games. Until then, the following is a temporary fix that may or may not work on your computer:
Try running the game in compatibility mode. This can only be done through the main Admin account.
1. Right click on the game icon on your desktop.
2. Select Properties.
3. Go to the compatibility tab in the properties window.
4. Check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for".
5. Make sure it says "Windows XP (service Pack 2)" under that.
6. Make sure you check the box for "run this as an administrator".
7. Click OK.
8. Afterward, try running the game again. It may pop up a warning box that you will want to be sure to click "allow" to allow the game to run.
Click "Yes" button on the Error. This may proceed as expected with no issues.
If the error comes up again:
* Temporarily disable firewall
Another possibility:
* Reset Internet Explorer or Firefox
If you are using Internet Explorer or Firefox, click the yellow security bar at the top of the page. Next, click the "Begin download" button, then refresh the page. Firefox's download page sometimes appears behind the browser. Google Chrome confirms downloads at the bottom of the page.
Many new games bought from Gamehouse.com will no longer have to be unlocked with a license code. Instead you can simply sign in with your gamehouse.com account username and the game will unlock automatically. Most purchases that were made before the New Gamehouse.com will still require license codes and you can access those original codes in the My Gamehouse tab under your order history. As we update our old games with the new system, eventually all of your orders will be under the new system and license codes will no longer be necessary.
The Error Message: "Not a Valid Win32 Application" usually means the game somehow got currupted during download and ended up a file that your computer does not recognize.
Most smaller Anti-Virus programs will classify this file as a Type_Win32 virus, since it doesn't recognize the corrupted file. I assure you that it is not a virus, just a corrupted file.
Please try the following:
1) Delete the corrupted file.
2) On your Internet Browser, clear out your Temporary Internet Files. It should be under OPTIONS in your Tool Bar.
3) Exit out and RESTART your computer.
4) Now redownload the game.
This usually helps with Win32 application errors 90% of the time. The other 10% is usually solved by getting all the Windows Updates from Microsoft.
GameHouse.com is primarily a download site. The install files for our games are small and our downloads are safe and secure. Also, our trial games can be copied and distributed freely. If you still would like a CD, you can get some of our games on CD by including our backup CD with your order for a $7.99 shipping fee. The backup CD also includes some of our trial games for install. The backup CD does not include a full retail copy of the game. Games purchased on CD still require that you purchase a license and register for full access. In a few cases we are not able to put certain games on a CD, and only a download link will be included. When you check the box to include a CD when you are ordering, you will see red warning text next to the CD if your selected game is not available on a backup CD.
