Jane Lockwood is on a mission to find her father and restore peace and tranquility to a magical world of grace and beauty in the hidden object adventure Nearwood. Join Jane and Fey, her advisory guide, as they travel through Nearwood, learn how to quell evil, and reveal Jane's family secrets.

When Jane was a very young girl, her father came across the Clock of Equilibrium and accidentally destroyed the balance that the ancient Time Keepers had set. The unbalance released evil onto the magical kingdom and in the same moment killed Jane's mom. Her father went missing and she was raised by her Aunt Sheryl. At her aunt's passing, the family secrets are revealed to her, and she has gone in search of answers.

The graphics are beautiful but game play is confusing. Hints are not really helpful as to where and what you are supposed to be doing next.

This one didn't seem to follow the usual HOG 'formula'. It wasn't radically different... just (in my opinion) a bit more imaginative. There are some subtle differences that might require a bit of adjustment - if you know this ahead of time, it might help, so you know to 'think outside the box' just a bit. That said, I smiled the whole way through playing this one. Stunning graphics, nice storyline, different mini games, good length. And -- not gross or gory -- kind of had my fill of those. I played on the most challenging mode and there was one thing that I had trouble with at first: sometimes I didn't realize a scene had ANOTHER direction in which you could travel. So, if you get stuck, mouse around over different edges and corners - there might be a path that you didn't notice before. I hope to see more like this one!!
