I really wish people would make up their minds. Make a movie or make a game, do not make a movie within a game. Far too much dialog AGAIN, and far too much of showing movie type scenes that you can not click through. If I want to watch a Movie, I will put in a DVD. I hope Gamehouse will pass these notes along to game creators, stop putting movies within the games. You end up with a very short game and upset customers.

I was not too sure when I first started playing this game whether I would enjoy it or not. Needless to say after a few minutes I was hooked. It was difficult to pry me away long enough to eat. I enjoyed the graphics and the fact that you had to remember where you saw a particular item. The mini games were only okay. I lucked out on some of them, others I gave up. Overall though, I thoroughly enjoyed this game.

This game was awful. Didn't know where to go or what to do. Hints were limited and as you never knew what you were supposed to do used up really quickly. Games should have some ability to lead you in the right direction. Would not recommend, especially given the huge download time.

Although I found this game good I felt there were too may hints and the ending was a bit of an anti climax. It could have done with less hints and a longer game.

Well this is NOTHING like the first Ancient Secrets and back then I was pretty new to these type of games with some wandering around HO's scenes and puzzles (mostly the slider kind) as I just mainly played straight HO's but I was hooked to this from the get go. Challenging and definitely thinky but not hard. This sequel here however is a huge disappointment from the first Ancient Secrets. I also think the developers/creators need to make up their mind - a movie or a game because the scenes where oh so slow along with the boring dialouge in my opinion that I had to click, click, click to get through it. I think I must of played this anywhere between 30 min to 1 hour as I did try to stick with it hoping it would get better as I even found the story downright boring and was doing pretty good as far as moving forward in the game until I got to the office as there was a puzzle I didn't much care for and if you skip puzzles it takes 3 of your coins. As mentioned that is the hint system you find coins. It stated I had to find 1 pair of clock hands and a red book and moved everything around that I could as sometimes things are inside of and/or hiding behind other items. No hints left and wouldn't let me leave the office I guess until I found these 2 things as I tried to go to other areas of game to find more hints (coins) but wouldn't let me. The inventory is another very annoying thing in this game. It´s in form of a sidebar, right above your hints (the coins) which keeps sliding up and down , and often stays open and blocks the view partially. I just couldn't cope with this another second. Finally had to stop the madness, cut this off and pull the plug already. Sorry 2 stars is the best I can do for this game. Give it a whirl and decide for yourself. Hope you enjoy but definitely not for me.
I agree with the other comments, it was boring and like a movie, I think the first one was better than this one, I hope they find better games that we can play, love gamehouse, this game wasn't a good one. Sorry

I gave this game 4 stars b/c on its own, its a pretty good game that kept me interested all the way through. The problem is that the 1st one was excellent (the golden key), so if I were to compare it to that, I would probably only give this 3 stars. Just as some of the other reviews said, this sequel just wasn't as original (in story), beautiful (in graphics) or as interesting (in challenge/puzzles) as the 1st. But overall, it's still a good game, so give it a shot!
It has nice graphics, somewhat good story, though the ending is not very great, music is ok, plenty of hints. The puzzles are kinda fine, but some are not very clear. Lots of back and forth and can't pick up objects before hand. It is ok for pass time, but not recommended for purchase.

but overall not what I expected. Too easy to skip the mini games too. Too much talking, need more hidden objects. Overall it was worth 3 stars, still fun to play if you like the back and forth type of play.

I loved the added puzzles that made you think. Not using any of the help tokens makes it a puzzling game....but fun.

I liked this one - I disagree with an earlier reviewer - I like movie type games with a fun story. This kept me interested and I loved the mini games - some were easy some were difficult and I had to skip. Thanks for another fun game

I liked the game screens but the slow (and I mean really slow) transition screens were boring and detracted from the game. The end screen play was especially boring and did not add to the game at all. Graphics on those parts were especially bad and there was no way to skip to the next step.. took forever to finally end the game. I expected more from the game. Was really short..

Not as good as the first Ancient Secrets. Too messy, the objects side bar obscures part of the screen. Too much going back and forth. I don't mind having to search on different screens for objects, but there has to be some interest in doing so. I'm afraid I pulled the plug after 30 min. Glad I only trialed this one.

This has got to be one of the most frustrating games I have ever purchased from Gamehouse. To begin with it took over 20 minutes to load which was my computer so I moved it to another computer. Once I started playing it I still didn't like it. It is no comparison to the first game in this bundle, the first one was fun and though challenging at times it wasn't frustrating and irritating like this one was. You can't click through all of the movie garbage, you are stuck watching it. It was frustrating to be forced to play the mini games or give up coins, and the games were just dumb. I got to where the bridge was repaired and then saw that there was a new frustrating area to complete and I just said forget it and deleted it even though I purchased the bundle. The first game was fun so that was at least worth the price. I will never complete this Vanishing Bride one though. Good luck to those of you who have the patience cause I sure dont. Shellie
As HO games go this one was average. You're helping another scientist try and find his research assistant by hopping from island to island. Thank heavens there was a skip button because the island hopping seemed to take forever. You also have to have a fairly good sense of observation and memory in order to find all the HOs needed to repair radios, fix generators, etc. because they are not all in one scene nor are they located on the same island where the objects need to be used. What I found most annoying was the items list. This list is located on the right side of the screen and needs to be pulled up in order to use any one of them in the game. The panel on which these items are located is very dark and many times was obscured by the graphics behind it. It became tedious having to open and close it throughout the game. It was a diversion for awhile and may keep kids entertained for a few hours but seasoned HO gamers may want to pass on this one.
Bad game with the coins for hints and skipping mini games. Rechargeable hints only for these games and good mini games. Didn't understand the stick game and gave up.

It is a short game and that's good. The speech part is ultra slow, it takes forever. I found it boring, the mini games are not really challenging. The hidden objects are not difficult to find. The story line could be a lot better. Sorry, but I would not replay. Kids might like it.

this game has way too much dilogue. After playing it for 15 minutes I just gave up

I played the first game which was outstanding, however the Part 2 is not really fun at all, it is very boring, the graphics very poor, and the game mechanics are "ancient" to say the least.... at least that is one man's opinion. -- gnashif

The graphics are well done and the story line is fun. There are plenty of hints so you don't get frustrated and give up. There is a lot of travelling back & forth between islands which is annoying. I liked having to find items to accomplish tasks. There are plenty of fun mini games to play. Some you may skip and some you will love.
