Just look around the entire map everywhere that you are able to travel. When you come back to the area that you got the first wolf there should be a second one there.
Most of the wolves come from across the river. If you can't cross the river yet It will take awhile to get the required number of furs. & No you don't need to kill all the deer. Just keep your store houses full of supplies. Make more store houses as soon as possible.
