Luxor 3 Bright light

I really love it Luxor 3, but have a concern. On the Sekhmets Armory level when you get to the higher levels you really have to stare into that overly bright fire light in order to complete the level. It really hurts my eyes. Can staring into a bright light for so long damage your eyes?
