Good one, Fenix. BTW--what did you do to poppa? (not that anyone has to do anything to poppa except disagree with him. )

It has been a long time Russ. I have been playing large file adventure games. God, I love those. I did 4 Rhems, the 2 Mysterious Journies, Reah and replayed the Myst series.
All is well here in Indianapolis (but you know that if your name is an indication).
Poppa is right about tha lack of activity on this site. Don't know why it never really took off. Personally, I could do without the posting of animated images and large pictures but that's just me. If you like them, knock yourself out with them.

In other words, they still are not doing things the way he thinks they should. Why are you still looking for him any way?

Good for you, wolverine!! I went flat panel some time back and like it soooo much better!! Ffwfire--I had the same problem with a monitor not long ago. When I signed on, I could hear the sign-on music in the background but the screen would not light up. So I got another monitor because my computer go-to guy doesn't do monitors.

We went through this same thing with Mortimer Beckett and the Lost King, remember? When it finally did come out, tho, it was worth the wait. That is the only Premium Edition of a game I have ever bought and I sometimes do the jigsaw puzzles that came with it when I want to play a game to relax or just for the sake of playing something.

I've been away from Gh for a while. Like the look of the site. Easily navigated. I see the same old stuff is going on in the forum. Poppa and IndyRuss are amusing, as always. I see there is still no PM feature but I can live with that.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!" Now that's real!!

I have not seen that one but I think the best movie I have ever seen in my life is one called The Bear. There are only 3 human beings in it and maybe two dozen lines of dialogue. It's about a grizzly bear cub that gets orphaned in the wild and hooks up later with this huge adult male. Good story line.
A close second for me is The Gods Must Be Crazy.
I know you guys have not seen me around lately but I'm sure you will pick up on the fact that I am, as usual, a little off-topic.

The first thing I am going to do, tho, is finish Exile, the third in the Myst series. I am finally in the last chapter. Love those games!!
Durn your hide, Lynne!! Went and tried elixir and like it. Now don't know what to do about Vampire Secrets.

I tried Brunhilda. Too much talking . And I had a hard time figuring out the site. Complicated download-go check email to confirm joining, d/l this and d/l that. (One had something to do with rebates--don't really remember) Didn't care a lot for the game. D/ling Gypsy now.

Thanks for the info, Bill. I was thinking that bits had something to do with the memory, or space to keep things you have. Someone in another forum was talking about bits and having to adjust their screen resolution and I was thinking 'What can one possibly have to do with the other.' But since bits deals with issues like color and such, I guess it would, huh? Now I'm off to read all about bits, bytes and some other stuff that I really don't want to know about but probably should. You've shamed me into educating myself, Bill.

What site is that game on, lyhnne? I just typed 'Brunhilda' in the Gh search box and it asked me if I meant 'tranquility'. I'll go look for a gypsy's tale. Might yield some interesting resuts.

Hello, Bill. I am using the XP exclusively. I put the 64 bit back in the box it came in so I will have a backup if something happens to this one. I had Vista on this one before the change to XP and did not care for it much. One of the reasons I had XP put on was because I could not get Black Mirror to work in Vista and it looked like a game I would play. And games I have with another site were not compatible with 64 bit. (What does 64 bit mean, any way?) Since the Myst games are so old now, is there a chance that you could get them? Some other good older games are Sentinel, Descendents in Time and Mysterious Journey2. And Aura, Fate of the Ages. If you like LF adventures, these are good ones.

I like HOGs and large file adventure games. Anyone playing anything good? Also IHOGS and FROGS. I bought a new computer that has a 64 bit system (don't know what that means, other than there were a lot of the older games I could not play) When I put my old one in the shop for general dusting and cleaning I had XP installed on it so now I am happily playing The Black Mirror, the Myst series and others. But is there any new ones that are good?

I am originally from a very small town in West Virginia and every 2 years they have what the call The Gathering, when people who were born there come back to catch up with people they knew when they were very young. Last time I saw some people I was in 1st and 2nd grade with. Let me tell you, there is no Kentucky Fried Chicken or vegetables from a can on those tables. These are old farm women who cook from scratch. Fresh chicken, pork and beef and veggies from the garden. It's coming up this September and I'm going!!

It is ampossible to download a game now. You get find or open. When you click 'open' you get a page of red and blue type. If,as you say, you are trying to make your site more member friendly, why do you unnecessarily comlicate things? What is an rpg file? Or pgi file or whatever it is?

i did not realize Google Chrome was a browser. I still don't want to download it and this is going to sound really silly but the word 'Google' annoys me for some reason. However, I do have a problem that some of you who know how to google can help me with. I am trying to find my first husband's mother's maiden name so I can have a search for his death certificate done. I know he was born in Jersey City NJ on Dec 24 1932 but I cannot find his records, either birth or death. I thought if I knew what newspaper was in Jersey City I could search their archives and find it. But I don't think his mother's maiden name would be in the birth announcement. Any one have any ideas?

I had not noticed the games manager was still in Beta when I downloaded it. I talked to CS about not all my games showing up and they said the problem should be resolved soon. Now another thing I wonder is Why does GH not have their own toolbar instead of offering us that Google Chrome every time we download a game? Another site many of us are familiar with has their own toolbar which makes navigation rather easy. Having their own toolbar might also eliminate the need to sign in every time I come to the site.

OK--went to write CS and found the games manager is still in Beta. Maybe I'll just wait awhile and see what happens.

I read with interest another post of his saying pot should be legalized. Contrary to a popular misconception, it has not been proved to be a 'gateway' drug. Is it addictive? I don't know. I have never smoked pot but if it works for you, go for it. But that's my take on just about everything. What anyone else is, or what anyone else does, makes no difference to me. It is what I am that is important. My grandfather said that to me when I was very young and that is the way I try to live my life. Of course, he left out the most important part--When what someone else does affects me in some way, then it is my business.
