Any game I download causes my monitor to go black

And the other 2 I have recently downloaded, Elements, and 4 Elements II Premium Edition, just get started playing and my monitor goes black and appears to go into a power-down mode. The only way I can get things back is to re-boot my computer. Help!!

However, about 2 weeks ago I had to re-format my system and re-install my game via the GameHouse method. Since then my game does not work. It worked just fine before that by using the RealArcade method, but now it's totally unplayable. I have requested support from them, only to be told that this game is not compatible with Win7 - odd, because it worked before.
