For the past couple months, my 5 yr old grandson has taken an interest in playing some of them with me. For me the quality time with my kid is priceless. For him , even though he doesn't realize it, the games are a terrific learning tool. He is learning new words when the item lists appear and as a result gets to know new items that would otherwise be foreign. He does a really good job deciding which inventory items need to be used in another location and he's getting better all the time navigating the playing field. So if any of you have youngsters in the home or grandkids that visit, introduce them to PC games. Great experience for the kid and an even better deal for the adult.

the whacko with the brown shoepolish tan is a mom living in New Jersey. She goes to the tanning salon a few times per week. SHe was busted and charged with 2nd degree child endangerment for bringing a 5 yr old to the tanning bed. The charge was dropped. The report I saw ( you can see it in a lot of places,,,for me it was thru HULU ) mentioned that exposure to UV rays via a tanning bed raises the risk of melanoma 74% compared to getting a natural tan from the sun. I know there are a lot of addictions out there, never thought over tanning would be one. Suffice it to say she looks awful, and that's being kind.

Someone discovered why a person could not post.
There is also a double standard here, the site is mentioned right one the main page but can the site be mentioned here no one knows.


If gamehouse had a pm system we could pm a person.

In the past few days I have learned some things about gamehouse that I cannot support and don't want to be a part of. So I will see all of you on down the road.

for the uninformed, a crappie is a smallish gamefish, fun to catch on light tackle. the word is pronounced croppy and the fish are quite nice looking. Tasty too.

Now I get to brag a bit. My son who had been one of the countless victims of the economic downturn, landed himself a new position at a well known multinational firm. A terrific starting salary and good benefits. Maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel as far as good jobs are concerned.

The 2 games that were unplayable for me are Bedtime Story and White Haven Mystery. I really could care less about them. I agree with the post by Blondie in which she states that the comments by GH reps are merely lip service when it comes to the enhancements that the PLAYERS and BUYERS ask about. This makes GH appear to be a second rate enterprise. Sorry Bill, but this is how I feel.

I could go on and on with other examples where GH is not user friendly. Promises have been made by the company and as I recall only two significant improvements have been made. One was to make certain things more available to MAC users. Good for them but most of us are not MAC users. The other was the intro of the ill-fated Amazon promo. Nice thought, too bad it didn't pan out. The reason for my title for this thread is to make GH aware that if it does the little things, then just like planting a seed and nurturing it, good things grow.

Wow a new lounger and one bearing a gift to boot !! Many thanks hfxgal for the info about the free games. I already have had Ravenhearst for many years. It's one of the best early HOGs ever. I completely love the Mortimer Beckett series (have FOUR), A Gypsy's Tale and Brier Rose. Plenty of "honorable mentions" too, but there's not enough room in cyberspace

Welcome to the lounge Ashley, hope you'll be a frequent contributor which this place sorely needs. The Beckett games are neat although I own none. Really like Briar Rose and all the Dark Parables games.

I read in the newspaper today that the Canadian government will cease minting pennies. It costs them 1.5 cents to make a penny. It is estimated Canada will save approx. $11 million annually by doing so. Now in the US, it costs 2.4 cents to make one penny and over 11 cents to make one nickel. Pennies are a pain in the butt. However the US has no intention at this time to end production of the money wasting coinage. There has got to be billions of these denominations in circulation.
