Those who know me well enough here realize that Poppa is a big fan of HOGs. I only own a handful of games that are not HOGs. For the past couple months, my 5 yr old grandson has taken an interest in playing some of them with me. For me the quality time with my kid is priceless. For him , even though he doesn't realize it, the games are a terrific learning tool. He is learning new words when the item lists appear and as a result gets to know new items that would otherwise be foreign. He does a really good job deciding which inventory items need to be used in another location and he's getting better all the time navigating the playing field. So if any of you have youngsters in the home or grandkids that visit, introduce them to PC games. Great experience for the kid and an even better deal for the adult.

I mispoke in my initial post in this thread when I mentioned using a secondary hard drive, which by the way I have since it provides so much more memory and games download in a flash for me. What I should have mentioned was an external hard drive as a protective measure in case of a computer crash. Hope the clarification helps.

In deference to GH I won't mention any other game site by name. Try a general search by googling the words HIDDEN OBJECT GAMES. You'll get plenty of hits. Then you can visit whichever of these sites that seem to appeal to you. Some offer a multitude of games while others hardly offer any. This search will keep you busy.
By all means do the hour trials. How else can you adequately determine which games are worthy of a purchase if you don't sample them?

the whacko with the brown shoepolish tan is a mom living in New Jersey. She goes to the tanning salon a few times per week. SHe was busted and charged with 2nd degree child endangerment for bringing a 5 yr old to the tanning bed. The charge was dropped. The report I saw ( you can see it in a lot of places,,,for me it was thru HULU ) mentioned that exposure to UV rays via a tanning bed raises the risk of melanoma 74% compared to getting a natural tan from the sun. I know there are a lot of addictions out there, never thought over tanning would be one. Suffice it to say she looks awful, and that's being kind.

something new which I have just discovered or should I say failed to discover. I have not done a whole lot of game trials here at GH, only because most game trials show up elsewhere a lot faster. However I was into the hour long demo of Brink of Consciousness...Dorian Gray Syndrome. It's a really weird game with a lot of to and fro so a good pair of running shoes are a must. I got stuck at one point and reverted back to the home page of sorts for the game looking for access to a game walkthru. Could not find one. Does this mean that walkthrus are not available from GH, or is it just this one game that doesn't have one. Somebody please let me know if I have a blind spot or am suffering from a brain freeze.

Oh, that's a very good idea Poppa. How does that work? Do you download them onto your primary hard drive and then copy them over? Sorry for sounding thick, I've never used a separate/second hard drive, but I'm thinking of getting one, and this is one of the things I'd be looking to do.

Suki

I guess the how to depends on the manufacturer of the secondary drive's instructions. All I can say is for me it's easy and I am far from being a computer whiz. Have not had the need to use the secondary since I have had zero problems with my current PC ( an ASUS ) which comes highly recommended for people like us who are PC gamers. Doesn't hurt either to have an excellent games manager from whence games are purchased.
Takes longer to reload games but I had no probs doing so when I bought the latest PC

I can understand that games developed by GH not being made available to other game suppliers and vice versa, an example of that being the MCF series being exclusive as well. My question is: Why are a lot of games produced by companies that always use other sites such as GH ( and others ) as sales intermediaries
not found on all of the gaming sites? It seems to me that the more exposure a game gets, the greater the probability of sales. An example is the Orneon games. IMO this developer consistently creates near masterpieces. Its 3 part Echoes of the Past series is among the best trilogies any HOG fan can ever find. Yet the Orneon games cannot be found here at GH.
So I hope that Bill or anyone at GH can supply a reason why certain gaming companies are never found within game sellers such as GH, IWin, Awem etc.
Thanks
Poppa

The problem lies in not being able to mention the site that you are talking about.

If a person tries to make a post there, sometimes they are not able to.
The posting there has been down to almost nothing.

Someone discovered why a person could not post.
There is also a double standard here, the site is mentioned right one the main page but can the site be mentioned here no one knows.

If gamehouse had a pm system we could pm a person.

In the past few days I have learned some things about gamehouse that I cannot support and don't want to be a part of. So I will see all of you on down the road.

Granny seems to enjoy being cryptic. In her last post in this thread she states she did research to determine which is the best game site. Please Granny, from whence does said research arise? Give us names. In another thread of her own creation she alludes to some place where reviews are available but fails to mention the site name. Why does she want the rest of us guessing. I wish to make this plain and simple Granny. In my opinion, and I could care less if anyone agrees or no, the pond is the best distributor of games in more ways than one. GH has the best forum which still needs improvement. Granny, opinions are like bellybuttons...everybody has one.

Who has the better games, that all depends on what you are looking for.
I for one do not like all of the dark and erie hidden object games.

I do not have a low opinion of the forum here, in fact in ways it is the best. But GH has indicated it has projected enhancements for it, things promised over 2 yrs ago and none have seen the light of day. Just trying to keep GH on its toes.

When I had Norton, it failed to protect me from a supposed anti-virus called antivir, which by the way invaded my PC during a visit to the old real arcade. A phone call to Norton did correct the problem quickly and efficiently but I never again went to real arcade.

Having lots of people here in the forums and having them stay here certainly would result in more sales for GH. I figure that's why you're here. Only speaking for myself, I like being here, yet I often get the feeling that GH just does not care enough for its clients because it has yet to correct the issues cited above. These are issues that GH has repeatedly told us would be looked into. GH must have lots of back burners on its stove since none of the little things have yet to be addressed. I hope that Bill or anyone else at GH will respond to this post. Once and for all, either tell us when the requested corrections will be made or just inform us that GH has no intention to do so. Then we can all just go on. End of rant.

CONTINUED DUE TO THE STINKING CHARACTER LIMIT
When a gamer wants to demo a game, simultaneous with the start of the download, the gamer must be subjected to an advertisement. NOT USER FRIENDLY GH, By the way, the last 2 games I wanted to demo glitched up within 5 minutes of the game onset. Poor quality control which is NOT USER FRIENDLY GH.
I could go on and on with other examples where GH is not user friendly. Promises have been made by the company and as I recall only two significant improvements have been made. One was to make certain things more available to MAC users. Good for them but most of us are not MAC users. The other was the intro of the ill-fated Amazon promo. Nice thought, too bad it didn't pan out. The reason for my title for this thread is to make GH aware that if it does the little things, then just like planting a seed and nurturing it, good things grow.

On Thu Apr 26 04:45:19 PDT 2012, Poppa said:

Once again I will take issue with GH and its reluctance to improve the forums or its utter disregard to do so.
Veteran members are here because we want to be here. Newcomers pour in every now and then and all too often before we can hardly say how do you do, POOF and they are gone. Why is this so? Perhaps it's because GH has consistently done nothing to make the forums a pleasant and easy to navigate place to be.
Example: If I go to the GAME FORUMS and click on any genre, rather than being directed to that genre, I am reverted back to the MAIN forum page. NOT USER FRIENDLY GH. Please correct this and then list each game alphabetically within its genre. Example: The 1000 character limit ( which I certainly will be exceeding in this post ) is NOT USER FRIENDLY GH when people wish to post a thought. Example: The availability of selecting only 2 AVATARS and not being able to correct an incorrect one is NOT USER FRIENDLY GH.
