Ignore this, I sorted it, it seems to have been a glitch. Still have my credits. But thanks anyway, in case somebody was already busy answering while I'm writing this here.

Hi,
I had to cancel GH a couple of days ago really urgently and before they'd deduct a further membership fee from my card. At that time I had either three or even four games credits. They seem to have disappeared even though I can log into my account no problem. When I just tried to redeem one, it offered me a new membership. Anyone here with any idea as to why this is? I have bought these credits and they have charged me for them. I'd like to redeem them when I decide to so, they should not disappear or perhaps even expire, disregarding me having to cancel my membership for a while or not. Can anyone help, please?

I got seasick a few times during crossings of the English Channel. The worst was the Rotterdam to Hull route, 12 hours in heavy sea I turned green. I was so totally happy and close to tears of joy when the Channel Tunnel was finished and operable. Was a bit daunting to know that the English Channel was now above me instead of underneath me, but before I could seriously panic about that circumstances we were already in England.

Poppa wrote: No one need reinvent the wheel here. As far as the game forum, why not borrow the excellent usage that the pond relies on to solicit gamer response and help from the gameplayers. Most folks will do the 1 hour trial before deciding on a purchase. When the trial ends in the pond, the screen shows an important segment which states simply GET TIPS IN THE FORUM. Here at GH, the one hour trial just ends with an option to purchase. I must assume that BFG is the largest online game retailer and if GH wishes better growth in sales, perhaps it should recall an old saying: Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. GH would need to tweak its format to avoid any copyright infringement, but the improvement is needed.

Fully agree with you, Poppa

Thanks for the reply, Bill and I'm glad to read that GH are still considering. Shame, though, that you can't give us any time line, because that means that we are being kept in a sort of infinite state, Would an ultimatum help? What about Christmas? And with that I mean the one of 2011? . I find it difficult to believe that a site that doesn't only host games, but also developes some, struggles with revamping or re-creating something as simple as a forum. In my mind it's pretty easy:
* Get rid of the 1000 character limit
* Allow Personal Messages
* Make access to the forum easier
* Have a forum for each game and design it so they can be accessed in alphabetical order, this would make reviews easier and allow for tips and hints

That's all I can think of so far

Hi,
I can vaguely remember ever having played Wedding Dash 1, but remember enjoying it. I bought Wedding Dash:Ready, Aim, Love a while ago from another site and have played it a few times since. Only a couple of days ago I bought Wedding Dash 2: Rings around the World and Wedding Dash 4 here on GH in a 4-package deal that also includes two of the Chocolatier games, for only $5.99. A superb offer, if you ask me, haven't come across an offer like that anywhere yet.
The first three of the Wedding Dash series are quite similar, apart from that I find WD2 the most difficult one so far. In Wedding Dash 4, however, things seem to have evolved and the game play is really interesting, but takes some getting used to. Brilliant games.

I would write stories here and I would do that to keep it all together and in only one box so give that a try but yes changes need to be made.

Ah that's good to know

I don't think people are too busy and/or waiting for spring and summer, yusef. I am convinced people find it difficult to use and find anything in this forum. I came across a question for a specific game in the games forum yesterday and the post was from February, where somebody described a game who he or she couldn't remember the name of. I think I know this game and answered, but I don't think this person will ever read it. I find the games forum the way it is very confusing, to find something in there that I would need an answer for is next to impossible as the games forums don't seem to be for any specific game. There seems to be the one games forum and that's it. Unless I couldn't find any other ones, which proofs that the entire forum situation here needs a good sorting out and as we as users know how a forum should be designed and work (we all use them enough) and act accordingly.

Very strange thing: I go into a thread and can't see the most recent posts. In sportygals thread, e.g., I can only go up to page 53. The same in the stickied thread about games we'd like to have available here. I just wanted to post that I 'already posted my wish and why it was deleted' and as I am in 'post a reply' I am suddenly on the last page of this thread. Is there a forum glitch or am I just having yet another bad day?

(I know somebody will soon pop a head in and say "We are the market leader", but we know that isn't true ) If a company doesn't listen and act to the wishes of its existing customers they're doing something wrong. Why? Because the wishes of the expectations of their existing customers also apply to potential new customers.

I agree with mooma that people will walk away if they can't have a good time apart from playing. When I looked aroung for a a new games portal one of my main criteria, apart from value for money, actually was the forum. Where I don't agree with you, mooma, is that GH may be doing so well on sales that they don't need one. To me the promises of revamping the forum and then not doing it, gives me the indication that they may not be doing so well. After all, a well-designed and run forum doesn't come cheap. I think it would increase the bandwith, also you'd need manpower (well trained and motivated moderators) 24/7. But it my honest opinion it would be a good investment for GH to become more competitive on the market and eventually the leader.

Wow, so many replies to my last post . Yes, kujo I know exactly what you mean us gamers love chit chatting, joke a lot and playing the odd prank. For me it's the essence of part of a gaming community and in my experience a lively forum takes the chill out of the bones from lost newbies. So chances are that with a better forum, axing the minimum characters (1000 characters is ridiculously few), allowing PM's, a fresh lick of paint and new customers will flock in here by the thousands.

To be continued (due to too few characters)

I nearly opened a new thread but came across Poppa's before. I've only been a member here for a couple of days, but I have to agree with Poppa. I find the 1000 character limit extremely annoying, because how can anyone get a point across with such few characters and without running into danger of being misunderstood? I'd also vote for a Private Messaging system. I find this forum very 'dead', and don't get this the wrong way, please. If I'm really honest, I find it eerie, too quiet, there's some life missing here. In my experience gamers like to talk as much as they like to play games, but the forum doesn't seem to be designed to allow that and as a newbie (seeing how 'dead' the lounge is) it kind of scares me little. GH should work on that, definately!

Hi tutukeli,
hope you read this, as it's a while ago since you opened this thread. I think it could be Mystery of Unicorn Castle. It's a Hidden object game or and Interactive HOG that has a repetitive match three mini puzzle in it. Sort of a 'slide and match'. My guess is that it would be this one.

Yes, I agree with you poppa an kujo, Sleepy Hollows is good and I own it. The MCF series I also enjoyed. I recently bought Shiver as a Collector's Editon and boy...that made me jump a few times, especially the bonus game play was very scary.
I'll try Hexalot out, but it sounds very logic and my brain just won't work very logic, no matter what I try, but I will give it a go.
@ kujo, you're right, this one is as close as you can get to the other one, but here I found better offers, like the ones decribed in my above. I never came across anywhere where I could buy 6 games for just over $10 and I'm still looking around and keep finding more gems.

On Thu Mar 31 02:50:47 PDT 2011, Pandora1111 said:

kujo, this may well be possible and if this is indeed the case then I can reveal that many more are thinking of there, it's becoming too toxic in there . Over the last few weeks I found myself seriously bullied and not only by users and quite frankly, I'm not willing to pay for such treament.
Made my fist purchase and wow I got The Clockwork Man for £2.99, then the double pack of Delicious Deluxe with my first credit and four games in one offer with two Wedding Dash and two Chocolatier (always wanted those but never got round to buy them). So I'm a very happy teddy For all of them I paid including the tax just over £10 and in the old place would have had to forked out £24 for the Wedding Dash and Chocolatiers, missed out on the Delicious Deluxe (they don't offer them) and as far as I know the same applies for Clockwork Man.

Correct, the problem is that you don't have the Collector's Edition. They are absolutely worth their money and it is a shame that GH doesn't offer them.

I agree, it would be nice if they had a feature on them that doesn't put through you the paces of something you already know. For that reason I never bought it.

Hi Poppa,
I've been playing casual PC games for well over 7 years now. I favourite IHOG's and adventure. I'm a great fan of the Nancy Drew series, own Dracula3-path of the dragon (but the original version, not the recently 'chopped into three parts' one. In fact the two prequels (Dracula Resurrection and Dracula, the last Sanctuary) got me into casual games. I just enjoyed not falling to my death or some worse possible fate . I love the Dark Parables series (I own Briar Rose and Exiled Prince in the Premium/Collectors version) I also like some TM's, like the building ones or My Kingdom for the Princess. I totally love!!! Fairy Godmother Tycoon and still hope for a sequel, but it doesn't look as if that would ever happen. I'm currently flirting with Delicious Deluxe, always liked them in trial, but now I'm running into problems like: Should I go for the 2 4 1 offer, or get the newer one. Decisions, decisions...omg...it's so difficult.

Hi,
I only registered here yesterday and set up for the $6.99 plan only a few hours ago. Now I am trying to find a game, but that proves more difficult than I anticipated. Scrolling through the vast amount of games available I'm finding myself seriously challenged, a problem I haven't encountered in years
The fact that GH offer deals like 2 for the price of 1 doesn't make it any easier either and then they're are the games for $2.99 which add to my problem . I must say that so far I'm seriously impressed with what I see here and I will inform all my gaming friends about this, so they flock in here and also sign up

I really would love to see the Dark Parables coming here. I own the first two: The Curse of Briar Rose and The exiled Prince and both as a Collectors Edition which would be a Premium Edition here. funny, I left another yesterday, too. Not so much for quality and choice, but because of really nasty experiences in their forum. The customer support was really helpful here and the time difference is ok, I contacted them about 17:00 my time and got straight through. I tested a few portal yesterday, especially what sort of customer support they're are offering and how friendly the forum is. This one here won by a mile, so I'm planning stick around for a bit. I find the site a bit awkward to navigate, but that's probably because I'm not used to it yet. Right now I'm trying to decide what game to buy, but that proofs more difficult than I estimated.

GH has offered CE versions of games but for my money I have yet to see even one that was worth paying the extra funds. It is my firm belief that the "extras " just aren't worth it. The regular versions of games generally are available within a month of the CE issue.

We have some nice people here so don't be shy.

Sorry, but I have to object, in Shiver e.g. only the CE version will give the ultimate conclusion with a little taster for the next game and the same applies for Dark Parables:The exiled Prince.

Hi,
I've only just registered and haven't decided on any of the plans yet. I'd really be greatful if any of you would answer some of my questions. I'd like to know if I'd actually own any game I purchase and if I can use my Visa Debit Card (I live in the UK) for payment for any membership fee. How often can and to how many pc's can I download a game (I like to download them to my main pc, my laptop and a pc in my office). So do I actually 'own' any game I buy here for life, or are their any limits in that respect? I haven't seen any Collector's Editions, doesn't GH offer them? And (most importantly in case anything should go haywire) what is the customer support here like? I'd really appreciate any advise and thank you in advance.
