Quick question & sorry if it's been asked & answered elsewhere:

Can I download to my work pc a bought game ( we do get a lunch hour afterall!) even though I already have that game downloaded to my home pc?

I don't want to do anything wrong, hence my question.
Thanks!

Playing Pearl Harbour-Fire on the Water...
A terrific shooter game where our ship or sub is sent on missions to sink enemy ships in the WW2 Pacific theatre.
Gorgeous graphics & lots of power-ups to enhance either our weapons (lasers, secret torpedoes, more ammo, etc) or to slow down the enemy.
Some levels give us a specific mission objective such as "Low ammo, so no misses allowed" etc.
Famous quotes & some infos on the war are included each level, too.

It's very addiciting... & challenge & pace & fun factor too ramp up as game progresses!

Suggestions anyone?

Let me know if you crack this, please, as I too cannot succeed in the mission, even with good power-ups!

Fantastic game & I'm so excited to see a shooter game here.

I love all the quotes & small infos about the naval campaign. Graphics also sweet & the animations for the sinking ships are so good sometimes I burst out laughing.

My understanding is same as touchmenot's, i.e. this is a re-release; thus I'm wondering about upgrade too.
Also wondering if this re-mastered version is much different from original (besides updated graphics)?

Hi Susiebeez,
Seems you join the growing crowd of FunPassers unhappy about not being able to play the Platinums.
There are many threads here on this topic, so definitely GH knows how FunPassers feel.
In reply GH has said:
(a) players who *buy* games asked for the Platinums (i.e. collector's/extended versions)
(b) developers of those games do not want FunPassers to play them under FunPass at no upcharge over the standard edition; hence, though FunPassers cannot play them, since the Platinums are available now, non-FunPassers (& FunPassers) have the option to purchase them
(c) GH has "contractual obligations" that apparently make this setup necessary
(d) GH is looking into ways to make FunPass stronger, i.e. to try to make up for this value-lost for FunPass.

Maybe I've missed a few details, but that just about summarizes the many posts on this topic.

Like you, I feel this move has been a sad loss for FunPassers.
On the upside, the Premium games are still FunPass playable! Those devs support FunPass, yeah!

On Mon May 14 04:45:42 PDT 2012, Janie42 said:

Royal Envoy 2 Platinum edition should have an additional 30 unique levels, all very well made & fun. Also included are some extra Achievements to earn, plus Walkthrough (strategy guide for getting gold on all levels), plus Making-Of, a Movie, Wallpapers, etc.

Main game has 65 levels, so the bonus content of +30 levels is generous, very worthwhile IMHO. Esp. the on-board Walkthrough is great if you care to try to earn all the many many Achievements!

I find this game simply excellent, with high replay value, so Platinum version is well worth the extra $.

Agree: option to upgrade standard version of a bought game to Platinum/Premium would be attractive.

Sometimes after buying standard edition, we find the game is so good we prefer to own the extended version with extra gameplay/bonus chapter.

How cool if GH Customer Service could issue a game coupon once we've upgraded to Platinum/Premium. Naturally, adjustments would need to happen to coins/points, though, so this option might be a little complicated to introduce?

This type of problem can be caused by many things, none of which has ANYTHING to do with a virus!

If it were a virus, you would not have simply been able to delete the game and have the problem "go away". A computer virus is incredibly difficult to remove, simply removing the host program will NEVER remove the virus.

I'm sorry you had trouble with the game, but screaming (typing in all caps, multiple postings) "the sky is falling, the sky is falling" is ridiculous.

Good post--I agree. Indeed, I've used the 'flag' button 2x already to suggest that GH consider removing the original post altogether.
False assertions about viruses cannot help GH (or probably anyone else, for that matter), regardless of whether the OP's intentions are good or not.

IMHO, as one of growing crowd who does not enjoy ERS game, I prefer GH to ignore ERS.
Original ERS titles were quite good; then, however, a steady decline in quality & creativity began as ERS brand started to be recognized. In fact, ERS is a game mill. Most of its works are so derivitive, short, repetitive & have outright recycled stories--and worse--recycled assets (graphics, hos items, puzzles, musics, etc).
ERS uses work-for-hire devs & it shows in the inconsistent artwork. HOS are poor (junkpiles) & so are storylines usually.
In short, if one's played 2 or 3 ERS games, one's "played them all" so to speak.
Hence, I'd far rather see GH try to catch first/exclusive releases from more NEW devs!

We need 10 workers to build the snowfort; so, as we start with only 4, we must hire/buy 6 more workers.
Thus, we build a market to buy the tomatoes needed to hire more workers from the castle.
In depth:
Get 2 guys right away making wood. Clear the roads with the other 2. Open the treasure chest. Repair the houses with the wood produced & collect the rents. Build a market. Then buy tomatoes. We need 50 tomatoes per new worker hired. (To hire workers click on the castle & a little tab option "Worker" will appear. If we have enough tomatoes to hire one, just click.)
Once we've a total of 10 guys, click on the snowball area & the "Construct" tab will colour in & the workers will automatically begin building the snowfort.
Then the snowball fights happen!

I share the FunPassers' upset re inability to play Platinums (or use coins to buy Platinums/Premiums). In past I've made protesting posts re how Platinums devalue FunPass--and they do IMO.

Wait time between Platinum (not FPass playable) & Standard (playable) seems too long; Platinums add another month+ of delay to FPass. Sadly, this is despite GH's initial assurances to try to release both standard & Platinum at close to same time. That's not happened.

I do understand a little about the how & why GH got into those contracts with devs. Afterall, GH needs to offer good titles here. But a far more aggressive approach to stopping the devaluation of FPass is needed in my view. Various ideas have been offered already. To me, a simple one is for FPassers to be able to spend "x" number of coins, say 3000 perhaps, to PLAY (not own) Platinums if we prefer. Others have suggested a two-tier FPass pricing--one that permits Platinum play; one that doesn't.

As much as I dislike the Platinums, I LOVE the Premiums (which FPassers CAN play) & think we should try to support those Premium devs strongly!

I hope GH can find a win-win solution to better support FunPass, if this Platinum scheme is here to stay. Likewise to permit coins to buy Premium games.

ETA--Good points by yusef & I hope we don't have to lose any members!

As a Canadian, it's true we have rather high taxes; it's also fantastic how if we require healthcare or hospital, we can receive high-quality care at no extra charge, no matter that's for having a baby, getting a by-pass or cancer treatments, or even tending to a broken bone. I cannot envision our being able to have this kind of healthcare without high taxes.

We also have a Social Welfare system to assist families of low income, no matter they have none or many kids. I'd myself always prefer this, as I cannot feel that children suffering too deeply from poverty will have much of a chance in life otherwise?

Canada is currently in process of making our retirement age at which we can collect government pension higher (from 65 to 67), which, while quite necessary & reasonable even (given how much longer people live & our present debt scenario), nonetheless has upset some Canadians, understandably. Yet we must have sufficient $ to continue to sustain our healthcare & other benefits.

An area Canada is possibly deficient in IMHO is our Military. We don't even have a standing army of 50,000. That's for our country of +33 millions. Seems not enough to me?

Re USA healthcare (& a number of other poilicy areas) I feel Obama is on the right track, though admitedly I haven't a strong knowledge of USA politics overall.

I'm keen for either of these but especially #2.

Option to convert coins into additional FunPass time would be excellent, even at a higher conversion.

As well, AWEM is only portal I know of to allow coins, punches, points, etc to buy extended versions (*sigh* Platinum, Premium, Collector's, etc), thus GH offering such option could be quite attractive.

Another sweet idea is the alternative gift cards.
What about cards for mobile time or Netflix, for e.g.?

Good point that though some of us have debated the Amazon Gift Card Loss at length, newcomers or folks who don't read forums daily can easily not know about these kinds of important changes.

I'd like to see coins convertable for additional FunPass participation.
E.g., 35,000 = one free month of FunPass (or some such conversion *).

FunPassers's primary concern seems to be that as we don't need to buy many games since we play them/rent them via the FunPass already, withdrawal of Amazon gift cards has brought a piling up of coins for many.

* I understand that such conversion may have monetization challenges, but any method to use the coins to receive additional FunPass service could prove highly attractive to FunPassers IMHO.

To add:
Platinum & Premium are just different names for *same* product--an extended version of a game.

Difference = NO FunPass playing of Platinums--and YES, okay, full playing of Premiums.
Reason = the contract GH holds with the particular game's developer.

Platinum devs are deliberately against FunPassers by prohibiting us to play their extended version.
FunPassers can play only standard version of Platinums.

Premium devs say: "It's all good" & support FunPass, thus we CAN play their extended version. Yay!
Like Suki & others, I will not even d/l trial of any Platinum; neither will I accept standard version of that game.
Platinum devs simply get zero royalties $ from me!

1st - Consumers CAN change company decisions but they have to SPEAK UP.

Agree 100%... speaking up works! Companies incline to change if they're losing business by not changing.

Moreover, claims made in this thread about Platinums being necessary because cost of making games is so high nowadays are NOT correct.

In fact, it's relatively inexpensive to make casual games nowadays--not to make console titles or big name PC games like Call of Duty for e.g.--but rather cheap to make most PC/Mac hidden object games or even time management games. There's simply no comparison to even 5-7 years ago. Softwares, coding language improvements, SDK kits, better engine licensing, reusable assets, etc are part of the lower cost.

And casual game design itself is the other part. In casual games, most levels are flat/static & little or no 3-D modelling or complex physics. And most hogs, for e.g., are very linear so even basic scripting & coding are quite straightforward.

Furthermore, to make a game Platinum simply involves taking the standard version & adding another level & a few other nearly free-to-prepare things like wallpapers or concept art. Besides the strategy guide, the extra level is super cheap considering it is a teeny tiny percent of the budget required to have made the standard version in the first place. And for adding this little extra, Platinums cost *double* the $ of the standard version!

AND, no way would allowing FunPassers to play the Platinums drive the devs and/or GH into bankruptcy because--Remember--FunPassers get to play the standard version anyway.

Platinums are about devs making $--that's it IMV. (Competition in the casual games area is very steep because so many devs are making them nowadays.)

I agree further with yost that rather than having to wait so long, I might as well have bought Royal Envoy 2 direct from Playrix 6 months ago--or whatever.

(Now I don't prefer to buy / play it at all.)

I know Mr Beal has already forwarded this suggestion to the Rewards Team, so I'll just add that I support the idea too.

This platinum thing is not cool and if gamehouse isn't careful, they are going to lose a lot of faithful members over a few dollars. Does our loyalty mean nothing to them?

I don't know if the Platinum thing involves a few or many dollars for GH--
but I do know I agree 100% with you & others:
the intro of Platinum games has greatly devalued/hurt the FunPass membership.

Before Platinums, FunPass was honestly a "play ANY game on our site" scheme--absolutely the best game rental scheme around IMV.

As I've made many posts here explaining the reasons why/how Platinum games hurt FunPass, I'll add only that Platinum developers do NOT care a whit about FunPass players.
Moreover, by agreeing to demands of the Platinum devs, GH has in effect agreed to force FunPass members to have to wait even longer to play standard version of these nonsense Platinum releases.

To me, this extended waiting time, especially as it's almost another month btwn Platinum & Standard version, is definitely not at all good.

BTW--like so many others here, I was waiting specifically for Royal Envoy 2.
Now, seeing that ugly "Platinum" I can only think:
shame shame on Playrix (the devs).
