This persists after completely uninstalling and reinstalling the game, clearing the cache, resetting the internet options for ownership verification, etc.

Any clue on how to get this game set for playability?

Trust me, before I even post here, if an installer has a problem, I run standard checks of clearing cache, full cold reboots and disabling of security software...everything that GH customer (dis)service tells you to do before they fail to solve your problem.

I have even tried installing this on 3 separate computers, all with the same issue...and going back to my saved download copies from the past 18 months, this is the second time GH has offered Babel Deluxe as a Game of the Day...and that installer still fails as well.

FunPass gets you unlimited full-featured access to all games on GameHouse...this is $19.99 + tax each month.

FunTicket allows a single free game each month with membership...this is $6.99 +tax each month.

Both offer a discount for additional game purchases (up to 65% off from the list price of $14.99-19.99 a game, instead all game purchases made during membership are $5.99 + tax) and early access to the Free Daily Game (you get the next day's game early...tomorrow's is Relic Hunt).

The only exceptions are the Premium Games...these cant be bought on discount but can be played with full access if you choose the FunPass option.

If you sign up for the trial of FunPass, you have to provide credit/debit card information for billing purposes, but you will not be billed if you cancel before the 7 day trial ends.

FunPass cost $19.99 plus tax a month for unlimited gameplay on all games available on GameHouse, along with the benefits of a 65% discount on game purchases, and early access to the free game for the next day.

The 'coupon' you mention is likely the FunTicket option, which costs $6.99 plus tax each month and offers the same additional benefits as FunPass. Since a base game costs $14.99-19.99 plus tax, if you buy more than 1 game a month, either option proves to be a decent deal.

The CD Rom is an optional purchase that provides you with demo games...you are not required to buy it.

1) If you rejoin FunPass or FunTicket, your account picks off much as it was before; $19.99 a month on FunPass for unlimited access to all games, or $6.99 for a single FunTicket a month (indefinite/unlimited length of usage), access to the next day free game and a 65% discount on all purchased games.

2) If you quit GamePass (the RealArcade membership), as set up on the merger with RealArcade and GameHouse, for $9.99 a month you now get 2 FunTickets (essentially 2 free games a month, with use required within 2 months of purchase). However, if you quit GamePass, you cannot rejoin GamePass as that program officially no longer exists since the merger...just a change of benefits to those who retain it.

It organizes most of the games from both GameHouse and RealArcade (at least that is what the site claims) similar to the old RealArcade dashboard. It becomes a single point you can start your GameHouse games (free, demos, and purchases) from, eliminating the need for individual desktop icons (I still keep mine, just stored in a folder if needed).

Personally I cannot get all games to show on it, and the only RealArcade games that show (and even download for me) are the ones that transferred over to GameHouse...often have to bother GameHouse for a ticket to download the SuperPass free monthly game.

Ok...I am not going to sit here and say I am smarter than your IT guys, but what you state is pure balderdash.....this malware pop-up HAS to be coming from you when it appears from no other downloading or visited site, regardless of browser used (I get this malware on IE8, Firefox 3.5, MSN Explorer 10, AOL 9.5, Opera 10, and Chrome 3....all fully updated and used regularly for here and other sites).

I also use McAfee Internet Security Suite 2010 and Webroot SpySweeper 2010, both of which are fully updated every hour or faster. I also use the integrated popup blockers set to no allowances...only what I actually accept is supposed to be allowed to my computer. This is backed up by Ad-Aware and SuperPopupBlocker....all this combined does a wonderful job of keeping my computer trouble-free from pretty much anything out there...except this.

This is a malware/scareware bit that appears ONLY on GameHouse, and ONLY after I accept download of the Free Daily Game. This hijacks your site and immediately sends it to its website (not another browser window or tab, completely redirects the traffic, WITHOUT any authorizations)..at which point my anti-virus and ant-spyware programs go haywire with alerts, forcing an immediate cleaning and reboot for repair.

Absolutely nothing in your response addresses the issue nor solves the problem.
You ask if i get the game registration screen....of course I do. But that isnt the source of the problem. the problem is as soon as I attempt to download the free daily game, I get a pop-up from Avira saying I my computer is infected with viruses and spyware, and then I get automatically redirected to their 'free scan' site.
This has nothing at all to to with the game download, but rather with something hijacking on your
server to allow such a pop-up.
Lets face facts, if I dont have my pop-up blocker engaged to allow for GameHouse downloads, I wouldnt be able to get the daily game or purchased downloads. With it turned on for your site, I also dont get the scareware either

Does a small window appear before the game starts with three tabs at the top, or does it go straight to the game? If it goes straight to the game, it is probably already registered. If you see the window with three tabs, follow these instructions:

1. Double-click the game icon from your desktop or under the Programs from your Start Menu.
2. Click the middle tab labeled "Register Game."

If you cant locate the game (it doesnt appear on your start menu if you move computers, nor will it appear in your installed programs anymore), simply open the drive you placed it to, open the game file, and double-click the game application...this will start the game with the familiar demo/registration screen. If you choose to create a shortcut for it, right click the app and select 'copy to desktop'. This creates a copy of the app to your desktop that functions as a shortcut, rather than a link to the app per a usual download.

Additionally, I have had to reformat my computer a couple of times, and even replace it once, and the games still play once the drive is connected. Only problem I had is that if an owned game, it needs to be re-registered (new login) on start-up.

However, when trying to redownload, you get told you need to install a demo version then return and unlock the game. When downloading the demo in v1.3 however, the access screen doesnt show it is available even after downloading, and the account page fails to recognize that you possess a demo version to unlock.

Some folks still want to own the game, ad supported or not

FunPass, FunTicket, or GamePass member..it doesnt matter. You still need to download the game, and if directed, log in. FunTicket or direct purchase lets you own the game, but you must still log in with the account it was purchased through. FunPass allows you unlimited access to a game during your subscription, but a download of it is still required as is a login for use.

The Daily Free Game is ad-supported and unlimited in trial unlike a regular download (and you effectively own it, unlike the usual demos); but if you log into it with FunPass or with a purchase, it converts to an un-ad-supported game, whereby the ads never play. If you then try to play later without logging in, it shows as a 60 minute demo, as per any usual download til registered.

Although I am not a FunPass subscriber, I am both a GamePass and FunTicket subscriber ...and one thing folks need to pay attention to about the free daily game...it says if you log in to it, it converts from ad supported to regular options. I take this to mean that if you have a FunPass, your game download no longer will operate as a free game, but rather as however you view/play it as a FunTicket member.

I have purchased several of the free daily games thru GamePass or FunTicket, and simply logged on after purchase...ads were gone, no new download needed. Trying to play without logging on showed it to now be a 60 minute demo instead of the unlimited free.

Taxes are not and never were an issue. Some sites require them, others dont...no big deal.

The issue is the increase in fees for the GameHouse service for some who retain the RealArcade GamePass. I know that the price didnt change from $9.99 (+taxes, if any) if you were paying full rates to begin with....and that doesnt violate RealNetworks' TOS.

However, as I pointed out before, those joining GamePass through a (former) partner site such as TimeWarner's RoadRunner were only paying $4.99 and there was absolutely no notice of a rate increase, which indeed does violate the TOS.

I agree that keeping the discounted rates causes GameHouse to lose money, especially if they maintain a price offered from a former partner site without the offset revenues. But failing to notify GamePass customers that such a change would happen, and instead issuing a blanket statement of "no increase in any fees" was incredibly misleading at best.

For me, the increased price wasnt worth getting a second game for the 'price of one'.

If I had been paying full price on GamePass to begin with...or at least been given notice that the discounted rates would stop....I might see it another way, such as being a good deal.

Instead, I am left with the feeling that some customers just dont matter and GameHouse/RealArcade basically did what they wanted without observing their own TOS. As such, I opted to cancel my account since there was no resolution through customer service. Their view is the discounted rates ceased when they were no longer a partner site for RoadRunner...even though they never raised my rates then.

The GamePass rate stayed the same (with the possible addition of taxes) with the merge of RealArcade into GameHouse as long as the rate wasnt discounted by having joined through a partner site like what was formerly offered with RoadRunner.

If your rate GamePass was discounted, it did go up to the standard GamePass rate on transfer....although that is an issue not addressed in the fine print of the Terms of Service beyond GameHouse has the right to increase prices with notice:

Exhibit E, Section 3. REALNETWORKS' RIGHT TO TERMINATE OR MODIFY SERVICES RN may modify the terms of this Agreement or the Services, including but not limited to the price, content or nature of the Services, upon notice to you. In the event RN modifies the Agreement or the Services, you may terminate the Services.

The thing is...many of us were not given notice of the increased price. Instead, we were led to believe it would remain the same, with added benefits.

Its a given that whether RealNetworks retains or changes options of membership... be it discounted prices offered thru partner sites, giving two games instead of one as they did with the merge, no longer supporting certain game downloads (as also happened), or offering the free monthly game and music with SuperPass is completely at their discretion. Changes can and often are made without notice, and for the most part Real has been fair to this issue.

However, the issue I am looking at is the appearance that no changes were made to SuperPass's game in relation to the GameHouse merge. Customer service says the games are still part of the subscription, and they are. That isnt the problem...but accessibility to them is. Unless GameHouse and RealNetworks figure out a solution, my only option for getting a full-version working copy of the SuperPass game is to buy it again directly from GameHouse...and that implicitly violates the subscription as RealNetworks says currently continues to exist.

Nowhere did I ever say I wished they kept my account payments at $4.99. I did say that paying full price on two FunTickets on a previously discounted rate for GamePass wasnt worth keeping the additional accounts at the full price rate since that exceeded the cost of two games once the higher rate kicked in.

However, commentary strictly to the secondary formerly discounted accounts takes this thread far off topic from what I am writing about concerning SuperPass subscriptions and GameHouse.

Thanks!

If you are GameHouse staff and want to discuss in email, fine; email me.

As for being unrelated to GameHouse, I beg to differ since GameHouse and RealArcade are now one and the same. Games purchased through SuperPass were provided by RealArcade, not SuperPass itself....and as such arguably should be provided now by GameHouse.

And while games purchased through SuperPass can be found on the RealNetworks account page, they cannot be downloaded from there in a working full-use fashion anymore since RealArcade/GameHouse no longer supports the RA dashboard.
