I downloaded the game in roughly two hours @ 4.42 mbps. However, the gameplay is slow and jerky. I checked the requirements and my system far exceeds them, so I don't know what gives. I probably won't play the game - it's too annoying when the cursor is slowly trailing around the screen.

Not to worry, elliebumble. I teach with a young lady from Spain, and she assures me that it is a great place to go on vacation and very safe. I understand your trepidation, though. My two daughters, 24 and 28, are planning a back-packing trip through Europe this summer and I am both thrilled and worried for them. By "backpacking", they mean they will travel lightly, not hitchhiking. I absolutely forbid that! They have a definite itinerary and will be taking trains, etc. They've been to Europe twice before and I know they are going to have a great time, but I'm still a bit uneasy about it. Unfortunately, they've learned on past visits to unofficially identify themselves as Canadian, rather than American....How sad

Yay! We've gotten confirmation on the puppy and he shall be named Gizmo! Can't wait to pick him up, hopefully next week. I have a photo of him, but am not having any luck getting it into this post. Just imagine adorable, cute as a button, etc. I can't wait to bring him to school for "Show & Tell" - my kids are already begging to see him!

We've decided to go ahead and get the puppy. I called the breeder, but haven't heard back yet! Now I'm worried that the pup was sold to someone else! They only had one left, so I hope I didn't wait too long. OMG, it's like expecting a baby. Who knew I would be so excited... On a side note, we just had a little tornado pass through.- lots of golf-ball sized hail and wind. Not too much damage, thankfully. Anyway, thanks for your words of encouragement. I'll try to post a photo of the little chap if I get him. I guess one shouldn't get their heart set on something that may not happen.

I have had the same problem ever since this game came out. I spent an enormous amount of time on a live chat with a GH assistant, but we couldn't get the game to run. The screen would just go back to my wallpaper. When I tried logging back in, the game accused me of trying to run more than 1 copy of the game at the same time. Somehow the game is running in the background, although my Task Manager showed nothing.I think they finally decided it had something to do with the log in banner, but I don't think it has ever been resolved. Too bad, cuz I was able to play the trial and really loved the game. I've tried uninstalling/redownload bit numerous times, but to no avail.

So, my DH and I are seriously thinking about getting a Yorkie pup. This will be a big change for us - we are empty nesters and I will be retiring at the end of this school term. Pros: My hubby travels a lot for his job and I am alone quite often. The company of a pet would be great and I would love to foster attention on this little guy. We love to go camping and I hear that Yorkies are great traveling companions. The only downside is that we often leave for a day or two on our motorcycles, so bringing the pet along is out. We live in a rural area and don't have dog kennels around here. I'm really torn - Any pet owners out there with some advice?

While I agree that our current system needs some changes, paying higher income taxes is no answer. Remember that almost half the country has a net zero tax bill, so you and I would still be paying for those who are not contributing to a "free" health care system. A consumer-type tax might be fairer, but would probably be detrimental to a big share of the economy. Another point-it's not just paying for other people's illnesses. We have to pony up for the individual's who reproduce at will, knowing full well who will foot the bill. Obamacare, as it stands now, is a creaking, ugly edifice that virtually no one can navigate through. The bottom line is, while free healthcare might be a noble idea, our country simply CANNOT afford it.

If this same supreme court overturns Obamacare, will that be a progressive or regressive ruling? Which decision will be most likely to chip away at our freedoms?

It's really hard to reconcile the idea that electric/hybrid cars are truly "green" when roughly 50 percent of our electricity comes from coal-fired plants.

OMG, Poppa, we do have common ground! I heartily agree with you. In MY neck of the woods, we have wind in abundance. There are acres and acres of wind farms here and they are actually quite stately and beautiful. The landowners here are lining up to have these wind turbines installed on their property as they reap a tidy sum in rent. Revenue is also generated for the upkeep of the land. It's a no-brainer. The only danger to human health may be to passing motorists who are entranced by the scene and who are not paying attention to their driving!

How much you wanna bet that "Dark Parables: The Exiled Prince", (which is listed in the upcoming games) will suddenly become tagged as platinum in the next couple of weeks? It's already listed as a collector's edition on some other sites. It seems like any really good upcoming games get that platinum tag not too long after the teaser comes out. Just askin', tho I'll be the first to cheer if I'm wrong!

If you follow the Quick Link to Funpass, this is what their customer testimonials say:

What FunPass Members Are Saying:

"FunPass is awesome! I can play every game on the site all I want." Raven H.

"FunPass is a great value." Kerry T.

"I love my FunPass! I need a variety of games, and with my FunPass, I can play any game." Kristy R.

Of course, we all know that's not true. Those testimonials are misleading to potential customers.

Hah! You can bet, jnatman, if GH did come out with a premium subscription, they'd just start offering "diamond" or "super-platinum" games that you STILL couldn't play unless you bought them! (How about "aluminum"?)

I've been a FunPass member for years and have always maintained that FP is a great bargain for the money. Lately, however, I've been very disappointed in the choice and quality of the GH offerings. I find myself playing my oldies but goodies that I purchased long ago, ergo my monthly fee is going to waste. I'm thinking about cancelling GH and going to another company that offers the newer games. I'd like to know if anyone out there has any suggestions for other game sites that are a good bargain. I was thinking about Big Fish, for example. Has anyone belonged to or purchased games from them? Any help would be appreciated!

On Fri Nov 18 14:44:17 PST 2011, Dudette said:

Lagoona, perhaps I didn't make myself clear. My apologies. However, it works both ways. Why would I shell out an extra twenty bucks for a game that I've already played? Also, I want to set things right, too. GH has released 5, not 4, Platinum games, with a couple more scheduled for release. I'm also wise enough to know who generally gets the last word in these forums, so I'll leave it at that.

Cheerz to you as well.

On Thu Nov 17 15:52:00 PST 2011, Dudette said:

Loopk, I agree about the quality of the new releases - I for one don't care for kiddie games or shoot-em-ups. I do think the Funpass has always been a good value, but lately I find myself playing a lot of old favorites instead of the new releases. I know this has been rehashed ad nauseum, but those Platinum releases really tick me off. By the time the premium or regular version is released, I've lost interest. One has to wonder if GH is realizing any big profits since implementing this marketing ploy.

WBeal: You keep saying that "many" of your customers are requesting platinum versions of games. Well, where the heck are they? Why aren't they posting on this thread? Why aren't they telling us how happy they are now that they get to pay extra for a bunch of really swell goodies that most of us don't even care about? Seriously, If they are so intent on having platinum versions, why don't they just download them from another site? It looks to me like it wouldn't cost them any more from another site than it would here. Sorry, but your reasoning doesn't really make any sense. (Lagoona, if you respond to this, I swear I will scream.)

On Sat Sep 10 17:00:56 PDT 2011, Dudette said:

WBeal: I think the whole gist of this uproar is that Gamehouse was not up front with its FunPass members. If you had simply stated from the beginning that this version of the game wouldn't be available to FP members, but that a standard edition to be released 2 weeks later would be, you wouldn't be having these conversations. People don't like these kinds of surprises, especially after having waited for months and months for a game, only to find out they couldn't play it without buying it. Myself, I don't care about all the bells and whistles that come with premium and platinum games. I am not going to cancel my FP subscription at this time, but I can tell you that I did not look kindly upon the "surprise" I got when I tried to log on to this game. It made me think "What's next?" I like Gamehouse and I think it is a good bargain for the money, but please don't make changes in membership privileges without letting people know about it up front.

Hey, sdteacher619 - FunPass is the only way to go if you do a lot of gaming. Like Yusef stated, for a monthly fee you can play all of the games at Gamehouse. No, you don't own them, but you can uninstall or reinstall to your heart's content. I've been a member for quite a long time and haven't purchased any games since I joined. Some games I uninstall as soon as I've finished them. Others, I've had on my computer for years. I consider FunPass a great bargain.
