Same thing here also started another player thinking it was just a fluke. However..... very frustrating. I was really enjoying the game also. So guess we'll never see how it ends.

OK, I was able to play the game all the way through. Do NOT close the game if you go back to the main menu and click "Exit". Anytime you get something strange on the screen (stranger than the alternate reality of the game, that is), click the "Windows" button on your keyboard to get back to your desk top and then click the game icon at the bottom of the screen. That is how I got past the mutant plant.

Same here Xenutia as my computer is still fairly new as it's not even a year old yet and well you have gotten further than me in this game because I'm right at the very beginning. Doesn't show the list of items to find - has been cut off and no way to even exit the game! OMG! LOL!

I'm having the same problem with this game. The only way to start to playing it after you close and exit is to start a new charcter. The big problem with that is that you loose all the progress you made in the game. HOPE they come up with a fix because it is unplayable the way it is.

Well I'm here to tell ya that this is definitely a Gamehouse issue because I just went over to Big Fish just to see if they had this game and I was able to download and play the one hour free trial with NO PROBLEM other than having to change my resolution settings from 1600 x 900 to 1280 x 1024 since I have a widescreen as adjusting those buttons within the game (full/widescreen) didn't help. After 10 to 15 minutes of playing I even exited the game and went back in just to see and NO PROBLEM.

I'm having the exact problem - game kept crashing and then when I got it back up I got past the plant and the bottom of the screen disappeared. Talked to support and they are working on it. Is a fun game - if we could finish it.

That is not true, I have played this game on a different game site and had no problems what so ever playing the game (which is a very good game).

Um I know it's not true! As that is what they GAMEHOUSE tried to tell me. I also played it on another site - BIG FISH without any problem other than changing my resolution since I have a wide screen. And yes it is a very good game.

I too am having problems. This is not the first game I have found issues with either. I do not believe there is a problem with my computer or resolution or operating system. The games are adapted to work with the Gamehouse interface and they are sometimes not coded right. What is sad is that despite the known issues they are promoting it as big as day on the home page. Why? Do you like to disappoint and frustrate customers?

Has anyone encoutered the page with the alien plant going really weird. It's hard to describe but it's huge and blocks the screen. I've tried twice and can't move past that section.

Hi SJ,

Almost everyone is having problems with the inventory bar disappearing off the bottom on the screen and it is being sorted out by Game House. The other problem I've encountered on that page is obviously something to do with the other problem. I got a large white square on the screen, with a turqoise gremlin on it. Heaven only knows what it was, but The one you describe sounds like yet another problem on that page with pixelation. I'm sure it will be sorted out when the other problems are. That page definitely has issues! Lol.

Hopefully, we'll all be able to finish the game then!

Yep! Same here! FINALLY after several installs/uninstall/reinstall I was able to do 20 chapters successfully until Chaper 21 where you are talking about the white box and then once that went away, I lost the bar again to find the items and to exit the game.

Hi you all together,

I am since quite some time GameHouse member. I have a FUNPASS, that is I pay a set amount every month and can download every game I like in full version and can play them as often I want to. I encounter no problems, whatsoever and that is not just in this game, they are all fine and my PC and software are not the newest on the market. I am very happy being a GameHouse member and it is a fantastic price / value!!!
P.S. I finished this game and everything was fine.

Cheers

Like Lagoona (above post) I've had zero trouble finishing this game--and I am on Win7U-64 bit with nvidia BFG graphics card & WS monitor -- so not sure why a GH rep would suggest GH games don't run well on 64-bit?

In fact, I've played +130 GH games on 64-bit & all have run perfectly, no need even to mess around with screen resolution (except Campfire Legends-Babysitter).

Hoping you all who've not yet finished the game get a solution, as it's well worth playing: excellent pace, pretty graphics/artwork, funky storyline, well-balanced searches & tasks, lots of fun!

Well I have FUNPASS TOO and all games ran just fine on my computer until around July a few not recognizing my widescreen monitor as I've ALWAYS been able to play games with the resolution setting of 1600 x 900 is what my computer calls for; never having to go in & change settings. Just download the games and play.

This game here however no matter the settings the menu bar to find items and exit the game are gone but then as I stated after several installs/uniinstalls/reinstalls able to complete 20 chapters and now stuck at chapter 21 with plant cause menu bar has once again DISAPPEARED but I did have to have my settings at 1280 x 1024 for the game to fill the screen properly cause at 1600 x 900 the game doesn't fill the WHOLE SCREEN.

Hi,

Guess what - I'm on a Fun Pass as well, Lol (very well worth investing in!) and I play more or less every new game that comes on the site (I need to get a life ) - I've only had problems with three games, which is a pretty amazing record really, so full marks to Game House for quality and service overall.

Having said that, this game definitely needs some sorting out. If more than a few people have the same problem, then the game hasn't been engineered properly. There is nothing more frustrating than getting three quarters of a way through the game and then finding you can't finish it because of a bug. It adds insult to injury, when you go back and restart it, get all the way through it again, only to find that it does it again in the same place.

It is a really nice game, and I was thoroughly enjoying it, so would like to finish it!

Well I use to think pretty highly of the Gamehouse here until just recently and especially when I go to read the reviews for this game (UNLESS ITS BEEN REMOVED as of now still there) just to see how others have liked it and I see a response dated 11/2 from the Gamehouse to a member's complaint about not being able to finish the ending because it kept "booting them out" and Gamehouse responds that there are NO KNOWN ISSUES with the game to present such difficulty. Well granted not the same issue as the rest of us are having but to say NO KNOWN ISSUES to present such difficult? So um, NO MENU BAR to find items and exit the game isn't a difficulty? This forum is FILLED WITH ISSUES dating back to 10/30. Well if you don't know what items need to be located then how in the heck can you play the game? Gamehouse was made aware of issues on 10/30 at least by me and the guy Mr. Bill who reads these reviews as I have a discussion about this game made a post dated 11/1 being aware of issues plus he sent me an email on 11/1 about the game issues.

I, too, have been on Gamehouse for many years. However, I do not remember having this issue before. I, like everyone else, gets to the point of the plant and can go no further. I got the huge white blot, had to close down to get past it, then, when I returned did not have the bar at the bottom of the screen. I clicked around and hit on something that showed I had to repair the organ, but, again, could go no further. Like everyone else, the only way to get beyond it, is to start over.

Hello everyone,

Our Technical Team continues to research the issues reported for The Otherside - Realm of Eons.

My thanks to everyone who reported their concerns to GameHouse Customer Support, your primary resource for help with technical issues. Our Customer Support Team has carefully documented each report they have received into a tracking system that our Technical Team accesses.

Well it sure USE TO BE as when I had problems with the Mortimer Game I believe it was Gamehouse Nick and he was pretty AWESOME to deal with and I even mentioned in my review for this game. I always give credit where credit is due.

This game here your tech support has my case marked as SOLVED. Well it's not SOLVED as I STILL can't play this game a WEEK LATER as it's been exactly ONE WEEK now since issues were reported.

So this is the way you treat your members who contribute to your site pretty much every day? You mark their case SOLVED when it's not and especially when I go out of my way to respond to your email about the game issues and very detailed I must add what I did to try and play the game and even provide you with screen shots of the issue to try and help your tech support resolve the issue? WOW! HOW SAD!

The only compensation I want is to be able to finish this game here . Oh and you can once again start being more truthful when responding to the game reviews because this game here definitely has issues and you were aware of those issues BEFORE you responded to that members complaint.

So you honestly want to improve and show you care about your members?

1. Stop marking cases SOLVED when they're not. A week later still can't play this game.
2. Start being more truthful responding to them game reviews.
3. Also pass it along to your tech support to stop blaming things on our operating system when this game is OBVIOUSLY a Gamehouse/game developer issue.

UPDATED: Just spoke with the techs. Told me my case is still open. Told them if they close it one more time and this hasn't been SOLVED I'm FED UP and pulling the plug on this membership. This is ridiculous as it's already been a WEEK now.

Everyone,

This afternoon I met again with the game's Producer here at GameHouse. She has been in contact with Namco Games, the publisher of this title, who is aware of the issues that you have reported and who has provided the following response: "We are working with the developer to see what can be done and what the time required to fix and QA will be. I don’t expect rectification until the next several days at least. I will get back to you with an answer as soon as possible."

That is the latest update...we will stay in touch with the publisher and will keep you posted as to developments.

Thank you again for your patience.

Thank you for this "update." From a business perspective basically you just said "It's not our problem, it's the provider we selected to furnish the product we SOLD to you customers. We're just the middleman waiting to hear back, just like you." If that is what passes for good customer service at Gamehouse lately, I think you are going to have difficulty keeping customers. Your business has been embarrassed because one of your providers has furnished a shoddy product -- and apparently that doesn't concern you enough to put more pressure on your vendor?

PS Why does the one review of this game reporting issues have a Gamehouse reply saying "no known issues" dated AFTER many posts here? I'm a Funpass member -- I don't bother with forums normally. I just scan the reviews and if it looks okay I give it a shot. I wouldn't have bothered downloading this game or spent any time playing it had I known that the Gamehouse reply on the review was false. Very disappointing.

I don't want to pour more salt on an open wound here, but to tell you the truth, after playing it through to the problem point twice to try and overcome the bug, I honestly don't really feel like playing it again to try and finish it, even if the fault is rectified - at least for a while.

I do appreciate that problems do happen, even at the best of times, but it does seem to me that developers are trying to rush products out a bit too quickly without beta testing them thoroughly enough. I've had problems with a few games recently. It does spoil the enjoyment if you start a game wondering if you are going to be able to finish it.

Perhaps the games should be played through and tested more thoroughly at Game House before putting them in their catalogue? Their reputation is going to take a battering if this goes on for much longer.

I do have to add that I love my Fun Pass and think that Game House do a great job generally, just seem to have had a few too many problems lately.

I am also having the same issue mentioned by previous players(and I have a FUNPASS membership as well). Mine went down at the Shooting Range - and I have no idea why. I turned on my PC as I normally do, and when I opened the game, everything was fine. It was only when I clicked play that I realized the screen was different - inventory bar was cut off. Now I can't finish my game, which sucks, because the rest of the games I would want to play have bad reviews!! I hope this gets fixed quickly.

See I'm not the only one who is wondering this however I don't believe this will ever be answered. The Gamehouse keyboard seems to be broke so I'll say this much:

So Gamehouse as I've taken this from Judge Judy (yeah I LOVE Judge Judy ) when someone is not truthful:

"Don't play with me as I'm 10 steps ahead of you." This meaning as I told your tech people I'm up on the reviews especially being the #1 contributor to the reviews.

"If it doesn't make sense, it's not true." This meaning that response to that game review doesn't make sense = not true.

"If you start off not being truthful, then everything you tell me after that, whether true or not, I will just believe it's not true."

The first time I downloaded this game I got a report that a Trogen was attached to this game and it was blocked. Then I called Gamehouse Support to report it. I was told they were aware of it and were working on it and offering all kinds of assurances. I uninstalled it and later reinstalled it. I did not get any further problems reported.

However, in reviewing the statements here, I have had the same problems, including the issue reported by Ladyblue.

This game is potentially a great game if you can ever play it through to the end. The Muteint Flower issue is a real pain and spoils the game.

Respectfully,
Cbrez

Ok, folks, I feel like I have been through h**l and back. I have been having the same problems as everyone else. But, I was h**l bent on playing this game through on Gamehouse. My frustration level has been high!!! So, I did something stupid and it worked for me, but I don't know why. I down loaded the game from Big Fish since I no longer had it on my PC. It was the one hour trial. However, the game started where I had problems mutient flower and the screen was fine and I was able to play the game. I exited 20 min. into the game and everything was as I had left it. I played for awhile more, exited the game and uninstalled it.

Then I reinstalled it from Gamehouse. Again, the game started where I had stopped playing, and I finished the game here. It really is a great game. I hope gamehouse can get the issues resolved. I am goinng back to try the game again. If I can get through the game without issues, I may buy it.

There is a way around the problem. If you want to print you would have to exit at the very last thing you do on the level, which from my playing the game is an non iventory action. When you go the the next chapter the inventory bar will reapear. BUT if you exit before the last thing the inventory bar will disapear again. The inventory bar is loaded when you first start the level.

Well I'm with you now as far as this game. I've thought about it the past few days here and right now I just no longer have the desire to play it. Maybe later as you said. I have however been in contact with the Gamehouse about the deceiving their members that has been going on here. Yeah I've been playing "Judge Judy" here as I'm quite appalled by this response to the game review KNOWING it's SO NOT TRUE:

Response from Gamehouse:
By W. Beal, Customer Service, 11/02/10Hi there, and thanks for your review. We appreciate your feedback! Sorry to read about your experience toward the end. It's puzzling as we have no known issues with the game that should have presented such difficulty. Please don't hesitate to contact GameHouse Customer Support for assistance with any technical issue; they're very glad to help. Visit our Support page for complete contact information. Thanks for playing at GameHouse!

Yeah it's puzzling alright by the either case of amnesia the Gamehouse has gotten as issues were known BEFORE responding to this review OR Gamehouse just deceives their members.

Well we shouldn't have to go through all that nonsense. LOL! This game should work. Tomorrow it will be 2 WEEKS. Well at the risk of this becoming a 'back patting' thread, I absolutely love your reviews as well SportyGal and always read them first! There are a couple of yours that we've sat and roared with laughter at. I always try to be as kind to the game as I can be, but sometimes, it's just so blooming awful, you can't find anything good to say about it - except perhaps that it quits quickly.

Like you, despite my moans, I am going to download the game and finish it, and I will be giving it a very good review, now I can actually play it!

Like you, despite my moans, I am going to download the game and finish it, and I will be giving it a very good review, now I can actually play it!

Hugs

Well let's see... This thread has went from frustration to frustration & being deceived to 'back patting.'

Seriously that's not why I brought up your reviews was for a 'back patting' cause I had no idea how you felt about my reviews. You could of not liked them for all I know. LOL! I honestly really do enjoy your reviews and so glad I got the chance to tell you so. I am however glad to be reading that you do enjoy my reviews.

Hugs to you as well.

Oh I know what you're saying as I just tried to play that very colorful game - Wispa Forest - Oh my! Now I've come across some games I couldn't "cope" with but that one takes the cake. You're correct as in you'll know within 2 minutes whether you like it or not. I did try to quit it quickly however I got blinded by the colors of the game and it took me about 5 to 10 minutes to be able to exit the game because my poor eyes were hurting so bad. I think that game is my shortest game play ever. That game definitely needs cut off and the plug pulled and sent back to the drawing board! LOL!

I can't get pass anything but the opening story. And my computer is just three months old.
I have reloaded the game about 10 times.
