hi, is it just me or does anyone else have this problem,I have downloaded and played roads of rome 2 several times, keep getting the same problem...games goes into slow motion then picks up again, curser jumps all over the place, not only this game but several others. Some of my older games are o.k. windows vista is my system.Gamehouse told me to check driver,I have done this and downloaded all available updates, its still the same. I have been downloading games with a funpass with zylom for 5 years and only recently moved over to gamehouse, because they seem to have more games every week but I am beginning to wonder if I have made a mistake never had these problems before. Can a download from a game site cause this problem?if anyone can help I would be grateful, please bear in mind I am not a computer whizz but a grey haired grannie who may need a little help, many thanks if you can, Nemellrina ...me again, I have just downloaded kingdom of seven seals its terrible judders all over the place, seizes up,stops and starts, something must be wrong somewhere, once again please help.
Hi, nemellerina... I haven't noticed that problem, and even though your drivers are up to date it could mean that your graphics card can't keep up with some of the demands of the newer games. I had to replace mine recently... just a thought. Hope you get some more feedback.
Do you have Aero enabled? To check this, right click anywhere on your desktop, choose Personalization, then select one of the non-Aero themes.
Try the game again and see if it is better.
Also, if you have a bunch of background programs or processes running, these can eat up memory and CPU space. You can manually disable most processes by clicking ctrl alt delete, then selecting Task Manager and click the Processes tab. Sort Processes by Memory, and see what memory hogs are running. Don't end explorer.exe or taskmgr.exe, but most others can be quit with no problem.
If you are running Norton or other big name antivirus program, that can be a real brain drain also.
Finally, most games have an option to use standard (not game) cursors, select that option and sometimes the floatyness will disappear.
