...doesn't it seem reasonable that someone could invent a thick cord with an electrical plug at one end to power everything and a connector for your tower's power source, printer, monitor, speakers and keyboard and mouse at the other? I am about to clean the carpet in my room and am daunted by all the crap I have to move to do so. So many wires to pick up! Anyone want to come to Indiana and clean my carpet?

I hear ya, LJ... the mess of wires behind my computer is ridiculous! And how in the heck do they get all wrapped around one another and tangled into knots when you don't go back there movin' them. Honestly, it's a tangled mess every time I have to unplug something for some reason, and I end up forgetting where things go, tho I do have things labeled now. I swear if you just sat back there, they'd end up strangling you. But that one plugger sounds like a winner!

Mooma, I know exactly what you mean by the tangled mess of wires behind your computer. No matter how careful you are about making the connections, pretty soon they are all tangled together.
I see no takers on the carpet cleaning. If I had been thinking when I had this house built, Poppa, I would have gone hardwood floors too.
(Anyone know where my spell checker went? Had to edit for 2 errors.)

I too converted to hard flooring a few years back (mainly because of allergies) but the wire thing still a big pet peeve here as well. My hubby has those tie stripes to hold all the wires tog with the cardboard roll from paper towels to cover the bundle. It works pretty good but haven't needed to get that area wet..LOL
llstjohn maybe you can come up with a better idea now that you've been working on it, huh.
moo, you seem to capture the perfect pic for every occasion..love those kitties.
BTW: LJ I found a free program called 'ieSpell check' that works anywhere thru the right mouse button.

I had a computer desk built and had a little shelf installed underneath where all the cords and power supplies go. It keeps them off the floor so the floor is easy to clean. Just an idea.

LJ, get yourself the correct size of wire ties, those plastic thingies with the little ratchet that locks them up. You can tie all the wires into one bundle and make things lots neater.

Try being a home worker with a work set up and a home set up all on one desk ~ basically spaghetti junction

I tried to get my cat to do the hoovering, but alas no aposable thumbs ~ still she's great as a substitute for a duster (joke)
