I have, squirrely... wasn't that bad, it was for Classified and Secret, but didn't entail my whole job. Just did some graphics where you had to put a sign up and not speak to anyone. Not sure how much "digging" they did into my background, but I got it fairly quickly. If it's for Top Secret, I know sometimes it can take awhile, as I have a friend who used to be an investigator, but this is usually for folks that have international relatives, bad debts, and perhaps a shady background. But you'll be fine! It's just the paperwork that takes so long to make the rounds.
yea, my husband had to have a security clearance when he was nominated for the president of the board of nursing back in 2001. They just did a background check but moom's right, it's the paperwork that takes so long. They were ready to assemble the board after waiting 6 weeks for the paperwork to be released so the secretary of state had to hurry the paperwork along so they could get the board started and nominate other members.
