Russ, sometimes I have a hard time figuring you out. There are days when you get a bit holier than thou and now with your OP, it appears that you are condoning use of an illegal drug.

I read with interest another post of his saying pot should be legalized. Contrary to a popular misconception, it has not been proved to be a 'gateway' drug. Is it addictive? I don't know. I have never smoked pot but if it works for you, go for it. But that's my take on just about everything. What anyone else is, or what anyone else does, makes no difference to me. It is what I am that is important. My grandfather said that to me when I was very young and that is the way I try to live my life. Of course, he left out the most important part--When what someone else does affects me in some way, then it is my business.

Hey, Poppa... Russ LIKES to be hard to figure out, lol. Well I say if it's legal where you are, go for it Russ... we all have things we do that can be questioned here... a cold draft, a snifter of brandy... who's to say which is worse for you. I won't be "celebrating," but here's to whatever flies your kite!

a cold draft of a snifter of brandy is not ILLEGAL. smoking weed IS ILLEGAL except for the occasional instance when it is prescribed by an MD for pain relief. To me cigarettes should be equally as illegal as they do far more harm than marijuana, but a prohibition on tabacco would be as disastrous as the ban on hootch in the 1920's. I am no prude, nor a pollyanna but draw the line when anyone advocates breaking any law even if the law is nonsensical.

I am appalled that Russ' OP was removed as inappropriate. While I diaagree with his premise, he did state it in a nice way and offended no one.

I agree, it was a news item brought to attention. But I guess infidelity (also against the law) is okay to talk about here. Ah well, have another hit of fresh air. (QMS)

An earlier post by Russ on the same subject wasn't removed but this one was. I don't get it. I say make pot legal.Aren't these forums here to discuss things? I enjoy reading peoples different opinions on different subjects whether we agree or not. To me it keeps things interesting here in the lounge. jmo

We know that it takes at least two people to hit the inappropriate button, so who did it?
For the moderator, Why would you think this inappropriate? In your reasoning if a couple of us were to team up on someone we don't like we could delete all their posts. This was advantageous when Ira was was here but this is ludicrous.

Hi everyone,

The determination of this topic's original post as inappropriate was not made by the Moderators. The content of the original post was automatically removed after a sufficient number of GameHouse Community members flagged it as inappropriate. After that content was posted again we had to remove it manually because the GameHouse Community had already made the determination that it should be deleted.

Thank you,
Bill

Cigarettes should be illegal?? Are you kidding? They hurt no one but the smoker. Maybe, case in point of many, that my 66 yr old friend has smoked 2 or more packs a day for 40 yrs and her dr at the last check-up said he wished his heath was as good as hers. I have never heard of anyone wrapping their car around a tree from smoking an overdose of cigarettes. It's just a wheel of fortune who dies or gets cancer. Do you feel lucky or not? That lady's 24 yr old child died from a drunk driver not a cigarette smoker. Smokers cannot smoke in public buildings anymore, outside of buildings, in cars with young children, in restaurants, etc, etc, etc. What more do non smokers want? I don't know what Russ wrote before it was deleted because I just got on but I defend his right to say it according to our first amendment.

Hi, candy... and oops, I'd better not repeat the content, and I condone Mr. Bill's appreciation of those who found it offensive. But it's still there to read, if you know what I mean. But I thought it was an interesting "Today is..." with facts and whatnot. Like "Today is National Hat Day?" Lol! And to those that found it offensive, what can is say but... nothing. Tomorrow is "Open Up Your Mind Day."

while infidelity is immoral it is not illegal, at least in the USA. Were it illegal, a lot of people would be either in prison or paying lots of fines. As to legalizing pot, I have no gripe against doing so. It should be very expensive and highly taxes, let's say about $25 for a pack of 20 joints. Until such time, users are not only potentially harming themselves physically, they are lawbreakers.

Is this a case of the inmates running the asylum?? While the Loungers have the right to report anything as unapt, Bill's post suggests to me that it is the numbers rather than the content which is determining what is to be deleted. If that's the case, why have mods??

LOL You obviously don't know pricing. 25 joints the size of cigarettes is about 1 once, which costs about 300 dollars from the clinic. (Colorado) So yea I would defiantly buy a carton or two!

I assume that if pot were legal, the cost would reduce significantly

It seems most doctors are severely afraid of anything that isn't chemically concocted in a lab. Heaven forbid something mom nature made should be substituted.

regardless whether some thought it was inappropriate or not, some must have found it to be so. but i have to agree why have mods at all if the users get to deem what is appropriate or not, what they want to see here?

I think everyone should 'flag as inappropriate' the 3rd post by IndianaRuss in this thread.

Oh, I see, ll... you mean the one that was removed and replaced by the moderator's remark? Well, that would hardly be right either, as he IS trying to be fair to everyone here, and I know that's a hard job. But I agree a post shouldn't be removed just because two people find it inappropriate when they may not even post here and speak their own mind, only lurk. I think the post should remain in place until the moderators can decide. Nothing said here was impolite or rude.
