I want to wish all my great friends here a very Happy Thanksgiving and to all the newcomers and for all of those just dropping by as well. I hope I don't leave anyone out while doing this but just in case I will apologize for that now and at the bottom there will be a picture for all of those that I forgot to mention and for all newcomer's and for the ones just dropping in to check out Gamehouse. Here in Australia it is not a Holiday, but I am sure American People, who have immigrated, do celebrate their Thanksgiving Holiday.

I went surfing on the net and I found all sorts of things about the Thanksgiving. For the ones, which know all the history part of it, just skip this part, for the others I would like to share, what I found:

The 53 Plymouth colonist, which sailed with the Mayflower to New England had to cope with very harsh conditions and half of them died from malnutrition, disease and exposure to the harsh New England weather. In fact, without the help of the area's native people, it is likely that none of the colonists would have survived. An English-speaking Pawtuxet named Samoset helped the colonists form an alliance with the local Wampanoags, who taught them how to hunt local animals, gather shellfish and grow corn, beans and squash. In 1621, the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Indians shared an autumn harvest feast that is acknowledged today as one of the first Thanksgiving celebrations in the colonies. It wasn't until 1863, in the midst of the Civil War, that President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national Thanksgiving Day to be held each November.

It's been a few months since my last post and I'm a day late for Thanksgiving wishes ( too busy prepping and hosting a large family gathering ). Anyway I hope all my GH cyberbuddies had a great day. This black Friday junk is now upon us. My wife and I always elect to just stay home. Will soon start my annual online shopping for December 25 presents. I never shop in stores anymore. Stay healthy everyone, yeah you to Russ.
