These are pictures of Jerome Idaho. Every year there use to be special drawing to bring the people to downtown. Santa Clause would arrive on a fire truck.

Hi, Pepper61! That's so awesome you put a slideshow in! Not sure if I know how to do that. I'm from No. VA near DC... don't think anyone needs pix of DC, but I'm from more in the suburbs, tho still part of the "rat-race" here. Idaho looks beautiful... thanks so much for the pix!

Hi. I loaded it onto photobucket. Idaho has a slideshow showing things of interest there. I haven't seen it elsewhere but, I haven't tried some other states like Virginia.

Hi, room... yes, I admit it's has some beautiful spots... I guess I'm judging it on our close proximity to DC, which I tend to avoid. My hubby has to commute there for work, and you do get tired of the rush-rush-you're-not-gettin'-in-front-of-me attitude. People can be downright rude in traffic and on the metro and it really starts to grate on you after awhile. When we travel just a bit further south in VA to visit my daughter in college, it's a whole 'nother scene! People are polite and unhurried in stores (blew our minds!) and take time to smell the roses. I guess we just want out of this little hectic pocket as soon as he can retire, which won't be for several more years. But really, I can't complain about our neighborhood and such.

I think the population is about 8,000 maybe more. It was just a small town until Evil Kneivel tried to jump over the canyon, where the bridge is. Idaho is a pretty state. I loved the lakes, streams, rivers and mountains.

So true, room... you do take your state of mind with you. But DC sure does have it's own stampede attitude, and rush hour is constant around here now. It's a lot easier to relax and let the breeze blow through your hair without someone breathing down your neck. Lol! This is deadline city, and the pressure is passed down from one person to another in the workforce. Kind of hard to ignore when your job is at stake, and people get laid off at the drop of a hat. So our plan is definitely not to stay in this area longer than we have to.

Mooma, I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed the pix of your babies. I miss my guys so now. did you know when they sleep on their back that means they trust you and when they bring you a critter it means they love you. (bringing you food) How old are they?
I had a Maine Coone live to 19, indoor, pasted in 07-how we get attached huh.

Aw, they're our special fellas. They're four now... they were a bit younger in those pix, but I had those in photobucket. We got them when they had just turned 6 weeks, so they took to trusting us right away, sleeping with us, etc, and yeah, sprawling with their bellies exposed. They do have a little cat door we leave open most of the time, so we sure do get the "gifts!" We have rescued so many birdies, chipmonks, etc. and taken them back to the woods... they really just go for the chase and the proud presenting of their "catch" to us. We had a cat for almost 19 years prior... a tuxedo cat named Natty... and it took us several years to finally get these guys. You do become so attached, but it's better to live and love and share your home if you can. Maine Coons are so beautiful! I hope a loss doesn't stop you from getting another.

I had talked it over with my hubby and we decided it was time.....we need babies in our lives a cat or two a maybe even a dog in the new year. we used to have 6 cats 2 dogs 2 birds rabbits and a colt. that was just at one time and doesn't count the other ones that have crosses over our doorway. I can't seem to see them go hungry or be cold or lonely, let alone listen to them cry. oh no I am a sucker!!! I love the black and white cats, they are such characters.

Oh my! You've given home to quite a few in need of one... and what a diverse collection! Are they all passed on now? You must live in a really rural area... remind me again when you're from, okay? Not sure I could find the intro page. I have neighbor's cat who likes to come in, but I discourage it since I know he has a home. Plus a really unwelcome raccoon recently! We figured out that by shining a bright spotlight onto the deck keeps him away. But I know what you mean about stray hungry critters who can't seem to fend for themselves... it breaks your heart to bits. I really love the tuxedos also, and they ARE such characters, lol. Natty was a gem. How in the world did you get a colt? Did someone not "want" it?

Hi mooma, sorry I missed ya. We have moved all over this country with the Air Force until we purchased a house here in central CA. It is about 2hrs from Yosemite Nat'l Park in one direction and 2hr to Monterray Bay in the other. Temp today was 62 but it can get as low as 29in jan and as high as 114 in Aug (avg. temp. hi 80's) We live in an area where they grow Diamond Almonds/Walnuts and peachs and grapes for raisins also oranges,strawberries,cherries-turkey farm, dairy farms (home of the happy cow)lol
I guess I will need to go around town and take a few pix for you when it's all full grown, lots of color. Horse ranch across the road from us keeps the windows closed in the summer.

Aw, gee... you're all the way across the states! No chance for a pop-in visit. Would love to see where you are tho, in pix... when you get the chance. Sounds fabulous! (and no wonder you don't know what DC can be like... lol) tho I'm sure you had many different experiences in your military travels. Are you settled there for good, do you think?

Suki,do you have an account with photobucket?
pepper told us about it, it's a free photo album tranfer site. that's where she uploaded her slideshow than linked it to here. That is how we do most of the pix you see on this site.
But I'm no expert, just on lesson two-thot I'd share.

Hi there, yes I've got a slideshow on photobucket (only a couple of pics, don't want to send anyone's connection into meltdown lol), but when I paste the HTML code into my post it previews ok but then comes up in the forum with the code altered and not working.

I'm not brainy enough to know what's happening there I'm afraid, just finished cooking dinner and don't have much IQ left now loll!

Hey guys, have put some photos together of the local area. Not sure if the slideshow is going to work or not... we'll see!

Grrr... it doesn't... for now. I can get it to work in preview, but then when I post it doesn't. Will keep playing. Thanks very much for the other pics posted. They're great!

This was from last summer, it's the decking outside my home, which is a caravan on a farm right next to a stream and woods, it's lovely but very wild! The cat in the pic is Bantu, I lost her last Christmas, she was 18 and I had her all her life (apart from her first 8 weeks!)

This one's probably a bit better, you can see the edge of the woods a little, I'll have to see if I can find one of the paddocks/ponies, now they're really cute
