Hi IndyRuss,

Thanks so much for all the explanations of political parties and governments, I very much appreciate it.

Well Indy I am the wrong person to take the stand against you. I believe most Politicians went into Politics, because they where Loving the Power instead having the Power of Love. By the way I was born in Ethiopia, which is known as a very poor Country and I have met different Cultures, Religions and Different Government Rulings. Some of them where free and some of them where not!
In Switzerland I was working 13 years for the Government, so I have seen there a lot as well. Instead of choosing a specific one I accept all of them, that does not mean that I agree with them. Asked which one I would prefer, I think the Government which lets the people do it themselves and is there for everybody, if need be makes the most sense. My opinion is, that politics was originally created to let people live in harmony together with all their rules summed up from each one of them into the rules and laws for everybody, who lives in that specific area, which has to be followed to maintain the order. There must be also someone who is there for everybody, if there is a disagreement. In ancient times the Elder, the Chief, The Emperor etc. Unfortunately it exists no Government structure in the whole wide world, who can please everybody in their Country. Reason is: Each one of us has their own reality and their own understanding, their own beliefs and their own values!

A BEAUTIFUL replay, lagoona... and so iinteresting to read where you are from! I agree with you totally... if only the original "idea" of government had not gotten so far away from it's own truth and exists mostly for power alone. And if someone does step up and try to make those values and truths exist once again, they get torn down by the power hungry and liars, who cannot see past the end of their own nose, nor will they look further. How I wish for true peace on earth, but we get further and further away, it seems. Peace begins within each one of us, and no where else can it start.

Hi Estrellas 1902,

You are most welcome. Yes you are right, there are so many beautiful pictures posted here. I enjoy looking at them.

The Lovely Ladies Gmac and Mooma even animate their pictures. I haven't figured that one out yet.

By the way the picture I have posted for you is actually a photo of a mask, which I have sculptured myself.

Here is an other one:

Hi Mooma,

Thanks for your message and I agree totally with you peace is to find in us. The more human beings think like that, the more effective it can be. We have actually lots of power and when we join together, it gets more powerful; our thoughts and feelings can go wherever we like it to land on this beautiful planet Earth! Call it Power of Feelings, or Power of Thoughts, call it an Other Dimension (like Einstein has figured out) it doesn't matter. It just works, for that we have to believe in it and create it in our own families, based on that, it is possible to carry it out to all creatures on Mother Earth and we will start to heal.

Hi Lagoona, the only way I know to post animated pictures is the same way as to post immobile pictures. The only difference is that the picture is animated itself!

Best wishes

It has been a long time Russ. I have been playing large file adventure games. God, I love those. I did 4 Rhems, the 2 Mysterious Journies, Reah and replayed the Myst series.
All is well here in Indianapolis (but you know that if your name is an indication).
Poppa is right about tha lack of activity on this site. Don't know why it never really took off. Personally, I could do without the posting of animated images and large pictures but that's just me. If you like them, knock yourself out with them.

Those images, I give a person a pass when it's 4th of July or something. They don't bother me now that I have unmeasured service. I hardly looked in the forums when my service was measured because I didn't want to use up my gbs on whimsicals. There should be a special place for them so people who are on measured service are aware ahead of time what they'lll be opening in a file. Or, a "spoiler" Notice: Large Photos Ahead ---

Personally, I think some are cute, the others I just skim through. I am surprise that there are still "slow" or antiquated computers still out there. I can understand the frustration of having to wait for something to open up, but it is a distant memory. Even on my 5 year old Dell laptop I don't have any problems. It must have to do with what type of internet service people use and frankly that shouldn't be faulted to others. I used to have dial-up thought it was wonderful until I experienced satellite. That was great until I experienced cable. Now I am waiting for them to work the bugs out of 3-D, oh yea baby!!

Speak for yourself. I live in the country with the slowest internet in the world. Doesn't have anything to do with the age of the computer. As for measured service, I guess you don't know what it is, so I'll ignore that part.

As for the great speed of internet service in the U.S., where Indiana is, I can say with most certainty that the people who have problems with GH games opening, saying they're not connected to the internet and the gamers say they are, has to do with slow internet service. Even a usually fast service can have a temporary slowdown.

I was speaking for myself, hence the words"IN MY OPINION".
As for living in a country that still uses dinosaurs for transportation, that must really suck, but again not anyone else's fault. I empathize with you and suggest maybe a move to the greatest country in the world. Again Just my thoughts.

Hi Yusef,

My opinion is a picture says more than entering into macrology. I enjoy some of the pictures really.
When I was on connection internet, I didn't even went into the forums, so I didn't had that problem.

It gives a very simple solution. Make your own thread with the title: Chit Chat Without Pics, or something similar.

Cheers

Hi Lagoona,
Thanks for the suggestion. I have "fast" internet now (but not fast compared to the U.S. and probably Europe) and it's not measured, so photos are not a problem. But like you, when I had limited internet, I didn't go into the forums either. I just used internet for what I needed. Of course, downloading games was a necessity, but it took a long time and I could only download small file games and only a few a month. So unless I knew a game (like it was a sequel) I waited to read the reviews before I would download any of them. Actually, I still read the reviews first to help me decide if I want to bother trying some games.

HI Yusef,

I have written some points on the Welcome message of GH in the game: Margrave - The Curse of the Severed Heart. It is a very good game, maybe give it a try, if you haven't already played it. I have played the game and also the 2nd game, which you get unlocked when you have finished the first one.

Lagoona, I read what you wrote at the Margrave thread. You've convinced me to try it, so I downloaded it and am just getting started. I'm usually too impatient for this kind of game.

If you play a lot of games, have you considered writing reviews on them in the Review section?

Hi Yusef,

No, I haven't considered writing any reviews, maybe one day I will.

By the way you started this game, good Luck. You will play through the half of the night, it is a long game and I found it so fascinating, that I had nearly to use matchsticks the next day to hold up my eyelids. So if you get addicted, like I did and want to finish it in one go, it might be for you tomorrow an early knock off from work to go home to sleep..... Your dog will be happy as well. He might think, when will GH bring an other game like this again, so Yusef will be early home...Wuff, wuff!

Hi Elvenarcher,

Thanks for much your tip.

I think my problem is I don't have animated pictures and when I come across something and I save it, it will be a still picture. I think I don't have a program, which creates animations, as far as I know.

Have a lovely day!

Hi Lagoona,,, you created those masks yourself? As in "in the flesh"? Lol, tho they aren't flesh, they're plaster or whatever... how did you photograph them so nicely, or are those effects? Very beautiful... would like to see more. And you're right re: the animated pix... they have to be animated from the get-go to post here as such, tho there are programs out there to make animations. Haven't been interested enough to look into them, but that would be fun.

And hello, llstjohn... nice to see you post once in awhile. And no, we're not "still looking" for poppa... everyone has their choice whether to post here or not, this thread just keeps coming to the top. It's just nice to see folks from the past, especially since this forum isn't as active as others. As for keeping track of how many posts are posted and the like, the same goes for that. Whatever pushes people's buttons or honks people's horns. (there's a small animation for you, lagoona)

Hi Mooma,

Thanks for the message and the cutey animation. In which program do you store your animations, if I may ask you Mooma. I can't get any animation, they are all still on my PC.

Glad you like my masks. Well I have a photo program, where you can use different backgrounds on the photos. So in the sense of little effects, you just play around with spot lights, colors, cutouts and you get all sorts of different varieties
As example from this one:

Hi IndyRuss,

Thanks for your message and I like to hear, that you find it cool.

The program is Ulead Photoexpress and I use 2.0SE of it. It came once with a printer and I liked it so much, that I kept it all these years.

I am pretty sure you find it on the net. Just give it a go. You have different albums integrated in it and that is very handy to have for a quick find, you just look under that specific topic.

This program has so many possibilities, that only your own imagination can stop you.

Thanks for your message and I am glad you liked it as well, it brightens up so many pictures and photos. It can also be used very well for Scrapbook Making.

It came by me with a CD, which you have to enter by very special effects, but the making of it, is some years back. I am pretty sure you can have it now in total downloads without any extra CD or floppy disk.

first time I checked into GH since my last visit. Some very interesting and hilarious comments, particularly from my " pal " Russ. His differentiation between Liberals and Conservatives was a scream. According to Russ. the C's don't like high taxes and big government. Here's a reminder. One of Russ's heroes, Ron Reagan raised taxes 11 times while president. His other hero. Bush the second ( worst pres. of all time ) oversaw the largest increase in the size of the fed. gov. in American history. He even created a new Cabinet ( home security ) Don't take my word for this, check the history books, they are FACTS!!. Russ seems to like big business who right now are making huge profits but are still not rehiring the unemployed as that would just eat into the gains. Russ, to set you straight, I am not a Liberal but I am an independent. I think things through before making a decision rather that accept that which is spewed by a particular political party.

The unfortunate aspect of present day government and its leadership is the sad fact that the most important thing to the politicians is getting reelected, so most cater to the lobbies, PACs and the special interest groups.
These blocs fund the politicos and the $$$s and the bums in congress favor them over the folks who elected them. Be they Republican or Democrat, Liberal or Conservative, the voters should toss them all out next year and start over. Wishful thinking on my part and certainly a pipedream.
I have noticed that Minxsi is still the only person profiled by GH. Anyone looking for sportygal, she's gone to the pond. I'll check back in another couple of months as Russ will certalinly contribute another erroneous rant.

Hi Poppa,
You have to cut Russ some slack. Because his first language is Latin, he may not get the full drift of what's happening in the world of politics, at least not in Washington D.C. Maybe in Rome.

It's sad that GH chose to delete Russ' latest response to my most recent posting. I thought it was incorrect analysis but not inappropriate. GH, remember the first Amendment? Russ did not attempt to refute my comments about Mr Reagan and Bush. This is because the facts cannot be disputed. Russ did make suppositions suggesting I was a Jimmy Carter toady and that I just hated Reagan. Russ, Carter was a poor president and Reagan had good moments. I applaud Reagan for uniting the nation as a post Carter POTUS. His tough stance on Communism and growing militancy around the world did much to founder the totalitarian states. However, and this is Reagan's ultimate failure is his theory of trickle-down economics which simply stated that if the rich get richer, then the rest of the country must prosper. Most economists called it "voodoo economics " but the Republican party bought it hook, line and sinker.

David Stockman, Reagan's budget director from 1981-1985, is ultra conservative when it comes to economic policy and deficits. After seeing the plight of the American economy over the past 3 decades he stated: " My GOP destroyed the economy." " It's not big spending Democrats, but the Republican Party's embrace of the insidious doctrine that deficits don't matter if the result comes from tax cuts". Stockman's boss created the greatest increase in military spending in US history and it was all funded by debt. Check your history book, Russ, as I am merely stating more FACTS. Russ also thinks I am not in favor of the death penalty. He's wrong. THere are lots of politicians ( both parties ) that a public hanging ( at the polls ) should improve. Lastly, GH if you can reinstate Russ' deleted post please do so. While I rarely agree with what he says, I defend his right to say it. It is the liberal thing to do.

Hi you all, Relax for a History Mystery

Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.
John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.

Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.
John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.

Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
Both Presidents were shot in the head

Now it gets really weird.

Lincoln 's secretary was named Kennedy.
Kennedy's Secretary was named Lincoln .

Both were assassinated by Southerners.
Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.

Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.

John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.
Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are composed of fifteen letters.

Now hang on to your seat.

Lincoln was shot at the theater named 'Ford'.
Kennedy was shot in a car called ' Lincoln ' made by 'Ford'.

Lincoln was shot in a theater and his assassin ran and hid in a warehouse.
Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and his assassin ran and hid in a theater.

Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.

And here's the kicker...

A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland
A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe.

Cheers

Just posting to defend Bill... he explained once how if a post gets so many "inappropriate" hits by readers it's automatically deleted. Remember having a heyday with that once, Russ? when forum members had a ball deleting a certain poster's posts? So I think you're right about that, and Mr. Bill hasn't even seen it yet.

And wail on, you guys... the problem is you're always calling out each other as a group -- "YOU libs." "YOU Conservatives." Maybe if you talked to each other one on one, it wouldn't be so argumentative. But face it, it can go on forever with no meeting of the minds in the deep, dark canyon of politics. I choose not to stress myself (as with religion), but unsheathe your flimsy weapons! I think you both love it, and we love you both.

we are not allowed to call each other out or I am sure I would not have been as pleasant with my thoughts. Yes Moo I remember that is why I don't believe the lie that Bill deleted it, just another liberal rant LOL
