I can't get the free games. It says windows has blocked the download. I have vista. I tried clicking save first then run. That didn't work. Do I need to change my security or do something else? If so how do I do it?

Hi lavonne10,
I, too, was having problems with games downloading on vista. After numerous emails and calls to gamehouse support(which is terribly lacking IMO) I was told that gamehouse "does not support vista" especially vista 64 bit. If you have vista 32 bit sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

And hello 'Sue70' ...

I am sorry to learn of your challenges in playing games on your Windows Vista-based computer. GameHouse does, indeed, support Windows Vista on the majority of our PC games. Can you please post some game titles that are not playing for you? We'll be happy to re-test them in a 32- and 64-bit environment and follow up with you.

Thank you both for playing at GameHouse!

Best wishes,
Bill

Sure Bill. I haven't tried to download anything in the past couple of months on my boyfriends computer. He has 64 bit. It's hit or miss on my 32 bit vista. I just tried the free game of the day hospital hustle and it didn't work on the 64 bit. It's not that it didn't play. It didn't even download. I get a COM exception message. I don't remember any other titles because as I said I haven't tried in a while. I just gave up. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Sue

You can temporarily work around this issue by doing the following :

Click the Start Button. Click All Programs. At the top of the program list, find Internet Explorer. Right click on the icon and select Run As Administrator. This temporarily turns off protected mode and should allow the download without incident. When you close internet explorer, your browser settings are returned to normal and protected mode is turned back on.

Thanks x2wolverine but that didn't work for me. Same thing- COM exception. I went to another game website and downloaded, installed and played hospital hustle with no problem (I really don't like TM games but I was just using that as an example). The problem does not seem to be with the game or my computer.

I also haven't been able to download for months. I had this problems a couple of months and gave up. I thought I try it again. Yesterday and today free games didn't work. This site is one of a couple game sites I feel safe. I hope this problem can be resolved.

I have had the exact problem described by "lavonne10." I have not been able to download a purchased game or a demo version since I have had my current laptop (Vista 64-bit), which is six months old. However, the game "Jane's Hotel Hero," as a demo, played fine. After purchasing the game and restarting, the game freezes upon start-up. I uninstalled the game, disabled the "run as administrator" feature, right-clicked on the game installation file, changed the compatibility mode to XP-Service Pack 2, and re-installed game (all according to tech support) and still cannot get the game to launch.

Since then, any game demos I have attempted to download from gamehouse.com, I keep receiving a "corrupt file" pop-up.
