I just attempted to download a game. and I got a pop-up ad that said if I didn't participate in their offer and buy stuff or buy "virus controll produts..".I couldn't download the game. What's up with that? once, just to get the game, I accepted their offer and it was installed. after downloading the game I went into my control panel and "removed" 'the offer". What else can I do. I shouldn't be forced to accept an offer I don't want just to play a game. pony

How strange. I haven't seen anything like this. It will be interesting to see what GH has to say. You should take a screen shot in case GH can't replicate it. What game?

Did you have to give credit card info on the offer you bought?

Hi pony,

The offers that are occasionally presented to players when downloading a game at GameHouse are not required to be accepted in order to download the game.

We make certain value-added offers that our customers may find useful but those offers are optional and they can be declined. Regardless of whether or not the respective offer is accepted the game can still be downloaded.

GameHouse does not require a purchase in order to download a game. Our trial versions of games are available free of charge and, of course, we also offer Today's Free Game -- an ad-supported, full version game available without cost to all players every day.

Thanks for playing at GameHouse!

Bill

No, not with all of them the anti virus program I think so. They were going to erase my present virus protection program.

Also I found a way to opt out of the offer. There is a small disclaimer that is checked. I just unchecked and it went away and the game downloaded. Thanks,,

Thanks Bill.. I have never had big problems with GH sometimes a game will malfunction, but I think that has to do with a compatibily issue. I just discovered how to opt out of an offer I didn't want. (See my answer to
yusef. Thank you for your help..

These pop ups have been going on for a while. My complaint is that they're prechecked. They should let the buyer check them if they want them.

some of you may want to run some virus and malware scans.

such popups often occur due to an infection of unwanted software.

sometimes these infections are hard to track down manually, or even know that you ARE infected.

GOOGLE this phrase: major geeks Malware Removal Guide

i have already posted a similar quick malware guide here on the forums that may help:
