Syberia gameplay issue **RESOLVED - NEW BUILD 8-12-2011**
I have the same problem. When I tried to use the voice cylinder the game froze. I did not get an Insert the dvd message it just froze. I uninstalled and redownloaded and still had the same problem. I am playing using Funpass as well.

I'm having the same problem as Lizzy, Kel & Kathie. I have to press the ESC button to get out of the screen. After a few times of having to get out of the screen and restart the game, I went back to load my saved game and it was gone. Very frustrating....I wanna know if she's going to buy the factory or not! LOL

I have the same problem as well. I don't get a message, it just freezes. I purchased the game with a fun ticket. The only way to get out of the screen is to hit ESC, which is closing out the game entirely. Any help would be greatly appreciated--I'm really getting into the game and would love to continue playing (particularly since I paid for it.)

I'm thinking it must be something to do with the cut scene that is triggered by putting in the voice tube. I tried viewing the cut scene from the main menu and then I got the pop-up "Please insert dvd-Syberia". No escaping that one--I had to use the task manager to end the game. Frustrating.

Yes, I am having the same problem but I have another question. Do any of you have to sign in as a Fun Pass member twice? Once to get the GH logo and Micron logo, then to get the game going? Also, has anybody tried to play as an "Administrator"?

Yes, I had to sign in twice to get the game going. I thought it was something I was doing wrong.

Same issue. This seems like a great game, but I've had nothing but trouble getting it to run. Even with FunPass, I got timed out after an hour. Spent some time with tech support, and ended up having to disable my firewall to even log in. Then it wouldn't launch again at all. Now this insert DVD issue. I've uninstalled and reinstalled this game a total of 6 times to get around all this. Very frustrating!

I am having the same issue with the voice cylinder and I purchased the game as well. However, before I purchased it (playing on a FunPass account), when I would quit the game and then try to go back into it later in the day it would seem as if it was loading but nothing happened. I'd click on it several times and still it would not load. I discovered that some file was still "open" in the game and the only way to re-enter the game successfully was to restart my PC (at which point this "open" file was shown as not responding and I was asked if I wanted to end the program). Since I purchased it this problem has not reoccurred. I hope the designer fixes this glitch soon. I am SO into this game right now that everything else I need to do has taken a back seat!

Even with FunPass, I got timed out after an hour.
I had the same problem, and since I hadn't saved the game during the hour I lost all my progress to that point. I loved the game, and will go back to it again, but think I'll wait until they figure out a fix for the DVD issue.

Wbeal, please keep us updated on what the developer has to say about this error. Do they say it will be a week, a month, never? All of who were playing this game and can do nothing more without the fix would like to know just how long they say it will be. Thanks for your help.

Seems I'm having the same problems as everyone else. Freezing when I insert the voice cylinder, insert dvd, and signing on twice. Nice to know its being looked into, BUT WHEN can we expect a fix? Also I think we all should get a credit for having spent money on a game we can't play. There really should be a team that test these products before they are presented on gamehouse..oh wait! there is! So why was the game still released with a major glitch like this? Yep..I'm irritated..major!

I just made to the factory and it time me out also funpass holder since befoer 2005 told me to buy game so i use my fun tickets to buy game now wants me to redownload. Can't wait to play game.

I'm having the same issue too.... sign in twice, and then the game freezes at the scene with the second cylinder. Have tried to run as administrator as well and no luck. I'm really into the game now too and can't wait for the fix!

This game was initially released in 2005. Not a typo - yes 6 years ago. At that time, this problem was already documented on the Syberia Series website http://www.syberia-series.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=10
Unfortunately, the fixes they mention don't work for me - I've tried closing everything except explorer.exe, taskhost.exe, and the game with the same results (game shuts down when the cylinder is played.

Unfortunately, this is a copy protection issue present in the DVD version of a product called Syberia 1&2 DJC sold in stores. Some versions of this game used TAGES copy protection, while other versions may have used StarForce and or Securom copy protection. I'm not certain what triggers this, it seems the developer back then had protected this game so good that the original game did checks at random points of the game to verify the files were original and not messed with, and if you were found out to be a copy... well guess what happened

This fix worked for my computer also. I first had to remove and then reinstall the game. I also changed the capital "C" to a lower case "c" after I copied them from the AN file. Don't know if this was necessary but it worked nonetheless. Thanks for your help in this. Better than the admin help it seems.

I just received word that the game's developer replied and told us their development team is working on an update to this game to resolve the issue where you are prompted to insert a DVD.
In the mean time it appears that the work-around relayed by Lagoona is helping some of you and I'm glad to know that. I'll keep you posted on progress with the new build as I learn more from the developer.

I have the same problem the game froze when I inserted the voice tube. I was messing around and ended up uninstalling the game so I guess I will wait to re-install when they get it fixed. I hope it is soon as I was really enjoying the game. Please let us know when that will be.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Syberia. When I try to insert the voice cylinder it plays music and then put the cylinder back into my inventory. So I thought maybe I just need to start the game from the beginning again. Well I got as far as the factory when you have to make Oscar some feet. I did everthing that I am supposed to do but the machine where you put the card Just keeps telling me that wont work. I am really fed up with this game. I guess the fix did not work.

I figured ok maybe a corrupt file or just a fluke.. So I restarted my computer..tried again and still got the popup and the game closes itself out. So I uninstalled the game reinstalled and still again the same issue. I figured ok maybe a license somewhere in the game, so I bought it, still the same issue. Any ideas?? Thank you for any help!!
