I was wondering why there are no longer the Amazon rewards?

Posted on Fri Jan 20 05:43:25 PST 2012

Hello rtburno48,

Thanks for your question about GameHouse Rewards.

We appreciate your participation in the program and your interest in the Amazon.com Gift Cards. We continue to update our Rewards program and, unfortunately, the Amazon.com Gift Cards are no longer available. However, you may continue to redeem your GameHouse Coins for game discounts, as well as free game coupons.

And be sure to check back for announcements of other exciting reward options. Thanks for playing at GameHouse!

Bill

This news definitely doesn't make my day. I was saving for a kindle. Now I have to WORK for my kindle instead of PLAY for it. Bah!

Hey, Yusef! I did buy "Emily's True Love" from Amazon. It downloaded and plays with no problems. I found out later that if you have a Discovercard with a cash back reward feature you can apply the rewards directly to an Amazon purchase. Also, most credit cards with any kind of rewards or points can be cashed in for gift cards and Amazon's usually one of them. Maybe GH should switch places and create a gift card of their own to get this way.

When & why did they quit offering Amazon rewards? Had I known they were doing away with that I wouldn't have purchased some of the games here that I did. I could have got them elsewhere that offers better rewards.

Thank you, everyone, for your comments - we appreciate your feedback.

As I noted above, we continue to update our Rewards program and, unfortunately, the Amazon.com Gift Cards are no longer available. We are looking at other reward options so please check back for those announcements.

In the meantime you may continue to redeem your GameHouse Coins for game discounts, as well as free game coupons.

Best wishes,
Bill

Great, cherryrose, for getting Emily's True Love. I hope you enjoy it as much as I've enjoyed playing it. I'm on my second time around on that one. Except for the first game, I've played each of the Delicious/Emily games several times, the xmas game close to a dozen times! (love the snow scenes)

So disappointed. Went tonight, after checking in everyday for my coins, to get an amazon reward and they are gone! Not only are they gone, but the remaining awards are nothing good for funpass players. Why should I purchase a game if I can play it with funpass, and they don't even allow me to use my coins for a platinum game, which is the one game I CANT play with funpass? All the really good HOGs tend to be platinum editions which leave me out, and good games come only once in a while now. I look at oncoming games and see very little of real quality coming that isn't "platinum" or styles (like Match3) I don't play.

Very, very disappointed. After the platinum game debaucle, for the first time in a while, I are seriously thinking about letting my funpass expire this year. I've been a member for many years, I just feel disrespected here.

I hear you, mysmile. The problem is, where else do you go? The only place I know of that has a "rental" system like funpass turned into a mostly kids' place. At least it's the only other place I would trust with my cc info, but horrible game selection.

On the brighter side, remember when we were happy to just play games even with no Rewards? You can gift your Rewards. That's not an option for me because I am a "closet gamer" and wouldn't want to out myself. I live where we have the worst internet service in the world, and I recently realized that you don't need internet connection to open purchased games, so I'm thinking about using some of my credits to get some old faves--have them on my computer so when my internet is out I don't go through game withdrawal.

Anyway, you're not alone in your feelings. I'm sure it's not a matter of GH disrespecting their funpass people and who knows, maybe some day they will come up with something that makes sense for us. Because yeah, there's a reason we're funpass players. We don't want to buy games!

So smile, mysmile. It's not the end of the world (I don't think). I also go way back into the Real Arcade days.

Very disappointed that you are no longer offering Amazon vouchers as rewards, they were the only thing that made me remain so loyal to your site and to visit so regularly. If you are no longer offering Amazon vouchers I won't be such a loyal and regular visitor to your site, that is for sure!

No longer offering Amazon.com rewards is really awful. I do a lot of shopping with Amazon & save tons of money. Money I then have extra of to pay for a Gamehouse subscription. Then I can earn coins for Amazon rewards, turn around and save on Amazon.com. Make sense?

I became & recommended a FunPass to a lot of people BECAUSE of the Amazon Rewards. Recently I spent only $5 on an item I would have spent 100's on. Gamehouse's Amazon rewards helped make that possible. And trust me I talked and posted everywhere to everyone about it.

I have to say that having really good Reward offers for your FunPass subscribers & potential subscribers should be top priority. It makes free account members into paying ones. I'm not all that interested in a free game download when I'm already playing all I want.

I am very disappointed to have found the amazon rewards were not offered anymore too. I was saving up my poijnts and waiting for that extra when they took my monthly payment so I could make an amazon purchase. I really hope that whatever replaces it is something worthwhile. I also agree with everyone in saying, why would i use my points to buy a game, when I pay for funpass to play for free anyway? Maybe we should be getting the reward of being able to purchase a platinum game that we are not allowed to play even though we are paying members. Plus, an announcement of the changes would have been nice.

That's an excellent idea. Offering a platinum game reward! It would be a start. Coming out with platinum games, then taking Amazon rewards away makes me feel a bit cheated as a subscriber. You're also right; I get plenty of Gamehouse email. They should have at least emailed a notice.

I'd just like to chime in and agree with everyone who is disappointed about the Amazon rewards. I was saving up to get 50,000 points so I could get the rewards, and then they disappear! I get two game credits a month, so I don't really need more games. (I also am a member at other sites.) But the Amazon rewards brought me back to the GH site every day so I could rack up those points. Now that they are only for more game credits, why bother? I hope the Amazon rewards will be brought back.

Can someone please tell me how to gift my game reward coupons? I have several and would love to send my grandkids a few games. I have tried and they keep trying to charge me. HELP!

You can simply email your coupon codes to your grandkids and ask them to use them in gamehouse to purchase games.

I too have been a member since the real arcade days. I make sure I visit each day to get the points and always end up playing something as well! But the game rewards aren't meaningful to me as a funpass member already. I was upset to discover the "missing" amazon g.c.'s. I was able to utilize those for gifts that otherwise never would have happened this past year.
To have the rewards be restricted to only on site, and with such limits, it is very frustrating for a long time GH/RA player. I too have started to research other sites for gaming purposes and reward systems.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that there were no longer any more Amazon Gift cards available as a reward. I've been working toward getting one ever since I came across this site, only 5 months ago, but I check in EVERY day just so I can get enough for an amazon gift card. I am guessing that too many people started only redeeming for Amazon and not games on the site. I now need 1500 more coins to get a free game, so when I get there, that will be it. In this economy, so many of us really rely on as many ways we can earn rewards so that we can actually buy presents for family. We had no Christmas this year at all and neither did thousands of other families. This would've helped with one or two presents at least for this next Christmas. Extremely disappointed is not even close to how I really feel. Bad move. Trying to earn enough points for just 1 free game is not enough to keep me here. I get free games elsewhere. Sorry, just nothing to hold me here now.

Hi, HealthMinded. Never mind. I was going to say something but it turned out not to be nice, so I'll say nothing at all. Hope you have a happier xmas next year.

I truly hope that GameHouse finds something other than giving free games to those who are subscribed to fun pass very soon, or I will have to cancel my subscription. I think it's awful you can't use your rewards for platinum or premium games as the games that are available for turning in tokens are "free" to me already. I have faith however. GameHouse don't let your fun pass members down!

GH personnel keep saying "We continue to update our Rewards program" but I haven't seen that for over a month. The first post here was Jan 20th. I'm also an old RA user and have literally 100's of games I've purchased from both RA and GH not to mention another site over the years as I'm retired and love to play. I'm very disappointed about the loss of the Amazon.com rewards like everyone else. So lets see what GH has supposedly been "working" on to replace the Amazon.com rewards. Better be something good. Although I can't think of anything that would be better than Amazon.com

I agree why do I want to purchase a game that I can play with funpass...that would be a waste of money and coins...I however did cancel my membership now if they do go back to offering something other than game coupons then I might renew but for now I will stick with big fish games

Well I am a new FunPass member and I know nothing about the rewards system or the Amazon gift certificates--I am an avid Amazon shopper. Anyway I just wanted to say that I have been dealing with Gamehouse for a long time and I really like and trust them. I have searched for a deal like theirs even with NO REWARDS and there are none as good out there. I found a place I thought was better. I did my biz, got the go ahead and then nothing would download right and they kept my money after I finally got hold of them and canceled after just 5 days!!! So with or without Amazon I love GH and since I play games so fast--I am into HOG right now--I hate to keep having to buy them and then uninstall them--my computer runs better without loads of games on it...............I am pleased GH and please keep up the good work.................

I understood from other posts that they quit offering Amazon rewards, because they were only valid for us residents and that others couldn't use those.
I hope that they find something like that to replace that, hopefully in the form of money for a paypal account or that they will for double points instead of the normal, for the special editions for the games.
