Real SuperPass Games...are they going to come to GameHouse as well?

How many subscribe to Real SuperPass and take advantage of the free monthly game purchase? Many, I suspect...assuming the game interests them or their family.

With the merge of RealArcade and GameHouse, SuperPass needs to be updated as well.

Currently, SuperPass directs you to download the ReaArcade dashboard (if you dont already have it installed), download a demo game, then unlock it from you Real account games link.

However, since the merge, the RealArcade dashboard no longer works, and the game purchases are not being recognized by GameHouse.

I have been fighting with GameHouse and Real customer support on this matter for more than 5 days and still havent had a resolution...and it only promises to get worse for each additional game I acquire thru SuperPass if nothing is resolved.

There are three logical solutions to this matter, none of which seem to appeal to GameHouse or Real customer service or tech support:

1) maintain a link to allow any games purchased thru SuperPass to be automatically registered with GameHouse.
2) re-do the link from SuperPass so that it goes to GameHouse directly instead of to the defunct RealArcade.
3) issue a GameHouse FunTicket as part of the SuperPass subscription.

I never had SuperPass. Is that the one where they give you a game of "their" choice each month with other privileges? Well if you're not getting your free game, I can't believe they haven't done something about it. I guess you've talked to CS... a lot of good that does, sometimes, as they don't know what you're taking about and won't admit it. But it sure DOES need to be updated, or you should be reimbursed. They should just let you pick a game from GH. Did you talk to Tier 2 and the like? (BTW, I'm just an empathetic customer myself.)

Hello Jafo66 and mooma,
One of the great benefits of SuperPass is to get a full version game every month. For consistency, this standard download/unlock process will remain the same for our SuperPass subscsribers! So if you are having issues with that process now, please contact the SuperPass team for support (http://www.service.real.com/contact/help.html?product=subs).

You may have noticed the Games tab does now point you to the GameHouse site. This will be a new site for our longer standing customers, but since RealArcade is no longer in service, we now provide the path to GameHouse.

The SuperPass subscription is not tied to any GameHouse subscription/service at this time. You can find all your SuperPass games in the MyAccount section of the Real site.

Hope this helps!

It doesnt help since the point of my comment is the fact that any games bought thru SuperPass are unaccessable. Unless and until games bought thru SuperPass are either transferred to GameHouse like any other RealArcade game owned prior to Nov 12, or games bought take you directly to GameHouse; this is a problem that continues to exist and is the whole point of my frustration with Real's customer service.

Also...to the point you address about retaining the current (old RealArcade) system for SuperPass is null when RealArcade/GameHouse no longer supports downloads to the dashboard. If that were the case, I wouldnt have any issue with the deal.

And yes, I have tried discussing this with customer service and tech support...constantly for more than 5 days without answer.

Second, to the point Real SuperPass links directly to GameHouse...not quite true...only the online game option does, NOT the downloads.....and that has been in place for over six months, long before the merge of GameHouse and RealArcade was announced to the public.

So if it was panned long enough ago that you prepped part way for it back then, why are you failing to complete the transition now that the merge is completed?

I signed up once for superpass trial (a couple years ago) only to get something free with trialpay. I am really not a music person.

"3) issue a GameHouse FunTicket as part of the SuperPass subscription. "

That would really be unfair, because there are people who pay for it and only receive one. You have superpass which I think is mainly for music. Although I know they do give you a free game of their choosing and I think it should stay that way.

If you want a free game every month of your choosing sign up for gamehouse funticket.

Actually, I dont download music from Real..I hardly use the ten free music downloads available each month as a SuperPass subscriber. However, I and my kids are avid gamers and we use SuperPass, GameHouse FunTickets, and formerly three separate RealArcade GamePass accounts quite regularly.

I closed two of the RealArcade GamePass accounts due to the price increasing after the merge (nothing in the claim of no increase in price comments on keeping a reduced price if you joined GamePass thru a Real partner site....and two free games a month doesnt compensate for the more than double cost of a full price membership).

However...how one chooses to use their SuperPass, GameHouse, and RealArcad suscriptions is up to the individual. But at the same time, Real needs to compensate its customers adequately when the promised subscription benefits fail to be realized due to them changing the services around and not maintaining proper support to other sites that still demand those same original resources.

PS: Sorry for the back-to-back postings, but the forum limits you to 250 words per entry

I am lost. Gamepass price did not change after the site change. I paid $9.99 to realarcade, but Real had to start charging us taxes so now it is $10 something. If anything this switch saved people money. So I have no idea what you are talking about there. If you bought an extra game off Realarcade that wasn't on sale it would cost you $14.99. Then before the gamehouse switch on Realarcade all games were on sale for $9.99. Now all games cost $6.99 + tax. If you use one of your funtickets it cost 0.00.

If you had two gamepass accounts maybe that is why you were charged twice, because that is the only way they would charge you twice. You had two gamepass accounts=two charges. If you only had one then you would only pay once. Realnetworks actually saved people money by doing this.

Hello Jafo66,
Seems like we need to do this discussion offline, as this is not related to the GameHouse site.
As noted earlier, the SuperPass game of the month is not related to the GameHouse site. And SuperPass games downloaded can be found in the RealNetworks MyAccount area.

Thanks!

If you are GameHouse staff and want to discuss in email, fine; email me.

As for being unrelated to GameHouse, I beg to differ since GameHouse and RealArcade are now one and the same. Games purchased through SuperPass were provided by RealArcade, not SuperPass itself....and as such arguably should be provided now by GameHouse.

And while games purchased through SuperPass can be found on the RealNetworks account page, they cannot be downloaded from there in a working full-use fashion anymore since RealArcade/GameHouse no longer supports the RA dashboard.

to ffwfire:

I had two other GamePass accounts that were priced at $4.99 a month due to a partner discount with TimeWarner RoadRunner. When RoadRunner ceased being a partner of RealArcade in Sept, the GamePass prices remained the same. However with the merge to GameHouse, the prices on them jumped to over $10.50 a month each.

I only wished I payed $4.99. No, I don't. I'd be robbing Real blind then.

I wouldn't expect gamehouse/real to give me two funtickets a month for only $4.99. I am sorry you do. They are giving us a deal the way it is at $9.99 when for one funticket they charge people $6.99. That is what gamehouse charges funticket members. You expect to get two for $4.99? Is that what you are saying. All gamepass members get two, but pay $9.99 plus tax. A funticket member pays $6.99 + tax and gets one.

You can't expect gamehouse to give you two for $4.99. You can't even get one here for that.

The simple solution would have been to cancel one, pay $9.99 like everyone else and get two games a month like everyone else. You would only be paying a couple more cents for the same thing you had now they started to charge taxes and you would have it all under one account.

Nowhere did I ever say I wished they kept my account payments at $4.99. I did say that paying full price on two FunTickets on a previously discounted rate for GamePass wasnt worth keeping the additional accounts at the full price rate since that exceeded the cost of two games once the higher rate kicked in.

However, commentary strictly to the secondary formerly discounted accounts takes this thread far off topic from what I am writing about concerning SuperPass subscriptions and GameHouse.

I thought it was nice of realarcade to give superpass members a game a month. If you haven't done so transfer your account to gamehouse. I don't know what they are going to do with that game a month that they gave superpass members. I doubt many people will be angry about it since that isn't what really superpass is about.

I hope you work out your problem and I am sorry if I misunderstood you, but they might do something about it eventually but I doubt they will give superpass members a funticket a month.

But it says you closed two

I closed two of the RealArcade GamePass accounts due to the price increasing after the merge
so I thought that is all you had.

Here is the Rhapsody forum

http://www.getsatisfaction.com/rhapsody (that is where you should be) and who you should complain to.

Its a given that whether RealNetworks retains or changes options of membership... be it discounted prices offered thru partner sites, giving two games instead of one as they did with the merge, no longer supporting certain game downloads (as also happened), or offering the free monthly game and music with SuperPass is completely at their discretion. Changes can and often are made without notice, and for the most part Real has been fair to this issue.

However, the issue I am looking at is the appearance that no changes were made to SuperPass's game in relation to the GameHouse merge. Customer service says the games are still part of the subscription, and they are. That isnt the problem...but accessibility to them is. Unless GameHouse and RealNetworks figure out a solution, my only option for getting a full-version working copy of the SuperPass game is to buy it again directly from GameHouse...and that implicitly violates the subscription as RealNetworks says currently continues to exist.

There was no merger. Gamehouse is owned by Realnetworks. They bought it in 2004. I don't know how that superpass game works at all.

If you complain about the issue to real (you can complain to real). You do not have to post here to get a game. You will have better luck posting on the other forum where there are real staff that can help you with your problem. Real employees can award your gamehouse account a funticket. I know this because they already did this for me.

Good things come to those who wait. It took me time too, but in the end I got more than I wanted. Don't buy it again till you go through all your options, because if you do buy it I know you probably would be mad at Real in the end.

What games are you missing anyway?

Hi. Some time ago the link to the raphsody site was listed. I found that interesting.
Gamehouse has been owned by real networks just as some other companies are. They are never talked about. You can find a great deal of information by going to www.realnetworks.com
superpass also now as a site for members or those who want to join. The game for this month is listed there. http://superpass.real.com If that doesn't work put real networks into your address bar and it will take you right to the site.

A good game too. I don't have that one. I have the new one (the holiday version).

So SuperPass is really about access to music, video, RealPlayer, etc. and one game a month? I surely wouldn't pay $14.99 a month for a game not-of-my-choice when you can get two games of your choice for $9.99. That's $4.99 per game! Do you pay per month, Jafo? or are you committed. I'd certainly drop that like a hot potato if you don't use the other options that come with it. The game sounds like a throw-in. But I CAN understand your being upset.

I would drop it. You never get the game of your choice. They always pick one out for you. What it gives you is access to big brother. I don't think that is even necessay anymore because most of the stations have their own media players that play all the time.
