i cannot download any of your games. I keep getting the 'network' error and I know that I am connected. I disabled Norton and still have the same message appear. I am ready to cancel my funpass because for the last two to three weeks, I have been unable to download your games. I can however download Big Fish games. Any suggestions?

Idm, I got a solution. here we go, restart your computer and when system starts up press F8 until a black screen appears select the option to start your computer in SAFEMODE w/networking. Once your computer has started up in this mode, start download games. hope it works for you.

Thanks but your suggestion did not work. About a quarter of the way, I got the 'network error' again. GH needs to fix this.

i printed the instrucctions and followed the internet explorer 8 instructions and immedidately started the download. After 2 and 1/2 hours, i got the 'network error' 3 times so i quit the download. I can download Big Fish games and downloads from e-mail without getting this message. It appears I only have this with GH. Since others have complained since October, it is possible your downloads are causing the problem. I would suffer through if I thought the games would ultimately download but they don't. Yesterday I spent over 24hrs waiting for a download to finish. I think I am wasting my time and money with GH.

If your games are taking hours to download, you should check your internet speed at the time you're trying to download. I use speakeasy dot net.

When there's a break in internet service, then the game has to start over again from the beginning. When I had dialup service, I didn't even bother with large files. I knew there would be a break before the game could download.

Don't know if this info helps. If not, just ignore it.

I am having the same exact problem. It gets to the very end and just quits, telling me to verify my connection. I know my connection is fine, my download speed is more than adequate and it has nothing to do with my ISP, router, firewall, anti-virus, etc. GH is the only place I have this problem and it has been this way for 4-6 months. I'm on the verge of canceling my Fun Pass. What is the point of spending the money if I can't use the service? I truly hope they resolve this problem soon!!

Have you tried my solution[safe mode], since it helps as you have a good connection speed.

I've had the same problem. We shouldn't have to jump through all those hoops for the games to download! It used to work just fine at this site - so what did you change? Big Fish site is no problem. Sometimes if I keep clicking retry it continues and finishes (after doing it a LOT of times!) So Gamehouse you'd better get this problem fixed or you are gonna lose customers! I'm not about to become a FunPass member if this problem continues since becoming a member doesn't seem to help. smarten up your site!

I'm glad to find out it's not just me.....it's just started happening to me in January and I tried to download the new Lost Lagoon 2 this morning and I keep getting the "error 1000" when it goes to launch. And it doesn't happen with the same game when I download it on Wild Tangent....so it's NOT my computer...it's the Gamehouse site. What is going on? I used to rave about Gamehouse to others.....such a great place to play games and I'm a FunPass subscriber and pay every month to play....but if this is what's going to keep happening, I'll have to cancel. It's just too frustrating!

Thanks Jason!

I'll add that it is also very helpful to know the type of Internet Service Provider:

Do you have broadband via cable or DSL? Or do you have a dial-up connection?

And is your computer connected to the Internet via a cable (such as Ethernet cable from a modem or router) or via a wireless network?

Using the above guidelines if I contacted GameHouse Customer Support I would include the following profile of my home PC:

Windows XP Pro - service pack 3
ZoneAlarm firewall
Google Chrome version 16 / Firefox 9
ESET NOD32 antivirus software
Comcast (Xfinity) cable broadband
Ethernet connection from modem/router to PC

Cheers,
Bill

I am having the same problem that others are reporting. My connection is broadband and definitely connected as I can access other sites. The downloads are slower than before and then am unable to launch the game. I get "Error Code 1000" and the message "Internet Connection is required. Connect and try again." Like others, I recently started experiencing this problem, and don't have a problem with any other sites, including BigFish games. I have tried all solutions on your support page, to no avail. I'm frustrated and considering cancelling my FunPass subscription. It's not worth the money, nor the frustration to have the problem go unsolved. I agree the problem must be with the GameHouse site since so many others are experiencing the same problem. If you want to keep your loyal customers, you need to address this issue promptly.

I am also having issues downloading games. I do get the network connection error, but just keep hitting "yes'. after a while I do not get the messages, however the game just sits there in download mode even when the progress bar shows that it has completed. The installatioin portion does not kick off. I bought a game and have not been able to download it successfully yet after 2 months. I have a DSL connected by an ethernet cable to my router/modem box. I have tried everything and nothing has worked yet.

I just sent my email. I am having the exact same problems. I get to the very end of the download and get a network error message (even though I'm connected and never experience other network interruptions.) I can download games from Big Fish that I can't download from Gamehouse. I'm another on the verge of cancelling my membership. Right now I have 13 Funtickets banked and can't spend them because I can't download any games.

13 funtickets? Isn't that like a year's worth? You haven't been able to download for a year? Why on earth do you wait this long to say something? This seems totally weird, but that's just my perception.

I have chatted with someone from your customer service and gave them all that information. I am assured this is a technical problem that needs to be resolved on your end. There is a pop up window that is for trymedia.com that seems to be presenting the problem. I do however appreciate your timely response and hope your technical support can remedy the problems soon.

I am also having an issue downloading any games. I keep getting the 'network' error as well. I find myself clicking on the yes (for retry) button 30-40 times during a download, and then it gets to what looks like 99% and never progresses further. VERY frustrating.

I have been a member for a long time, but I have NEVER had so much trouble playing the games. I have tried the suggestions, and still have problems downloading and or playing your games. I downloaded the new Jewel Quest and have no problems with it. Since then, every game I download stops during the download saying there was a network error and try again. So I do, and get the same thing again. I am still playing the games I have downloaded before all this started with no problems. However I cannot download or play any other games now. I am connected to the internet, or I would not be sending this message. If I cannot play the games, my 20+ dollars a month is realllllly a waste! I think it is your problem. I will try one more time, then I will take my money and gaming elsewhere. btktex is angry

Thanks for replying to our problems. I have Time Warner Cable-wireless internet. I have been having problems with the sign in. I have followed your advise on deleting all the information and reentering it and it works 95% of the time. Even with Jewel Quest, if I do not reenter the information on sign in, it will not work. So that I can do, but its annoying to do it and still get the no internet connection message. Now I do know Time Warner is trying to get an extra 10 dollars a month to "speed" up my internet. I have had this since leaving dialup, and it was fine, but now that they sell it "faster" for more money, all downloads are taking more time. But then there are times when I do not have any problems. I had installed Royal Envoy 2 times and nothing, tried again, and it is working. Or was, because I cannot sign in right now even with signing in fresh each time. Very curious.
