My problem is on Jewel Quest Heritage also. I don't know if it's happening on other games, I've been playing this one only for a couple days now. It was only crashing every hour or so but now it's crashing about every twenty minutes.

I've been having problems with games loading for a while now but I've been patient because I've been a member a long time and never had problems before. Though you mention that things are fixed now, I just downloaded a free game and again it plays for a few minutes then freezes and won't reload. Any game from Gamehouse that I have is doing that and has been for several weeks. It has to be a problem here because it's not happening on my games that are not from Gamehouse. I'm sure missing playing and have quit loading the new or free games because there's no use if they aren't going to work.

Advise if I need to do anything else. Remaining patient.

This is getting really old Bill... not being able to play the games, and not getting any kind of credit is way beyond our customer patience requirement! I'm about a day away from canceling my three year membership!

I am having this exact same problem. I am using Mac OS 10.5.8. I couldn't send an email to customer support either. I am getting frustrated.

Posted on Thu Mar 04 08:41:46 PST 2010

We continue to review the comments being added to this thread, which was focused primarily on log-in and game play issues for our FunPass members.

Over the last two days we have not seen evidence of a resurfacing of the problem we had previously identified and fixed. That issue was relative to FunPass log-in sessions and it was detailed in my post on February 24th.

The concerns being reported in this thread since March 2nd may be attributable to other factors and we are working with our Technical Team to categorize them for further research and response. I will continue to post general updates here as they become available. Account-specific issues will be addressed offline via private communication.

Meanwhile...anyone experiencing difficulty downloading, installing or playing games is encouraged to contact GameHouse Customer Support so that your concerns can be logged and tracked and, depending upon the nature of the issue, directed to the appropriate group within our Technical Team. You can call Customer Support toll-free from the U.S. on 1-866-831-5895. Alternatively, you can send an email to support@gamehouse.com.

Thank you for your continued patience and for being members and customers of GameHouse.

Had the same issue. As soon as I finished chapter two the game shut down. However, I was able to log right back in, my progress had been saved and now I've finished chapter three and am working on chapter four. Maybe a glitch in the game, but seems to work fine if you log back in.

Sorry, Game House Bill, Vancouver shuts down on me and won't let me log in again. Why should I continue to pay for service that doesn't exist? If it was fixed on 2/24/10, it needs your attention yet again. We had issues on servers like this at work all the time and our Server Guy just had to mutter about MicroSoft while we all bit the bullet. Can one play games like these on Macs? Please get this repaired!!!

**UPDATE on 02-24-2010 3:17 PM (PST)

Iâm pleased to report that our Development and QA teams have isolated and fixed the problem that prevented some of our FunPass members from playing the newer games, notably the titles listed in my original post under this thread and some others that have been reported in subsequent replies.
Thank you for your support and for playing at GameHouse!

I have not had any luck with Gamehouse. All the free trial games that I have tried to purchase will not open. I have wasted credits and games that I cannot play. I never had this trouble with Real Arcade.

Cancelled my subscription and will be happy to tell everyone I know that Gamehouse is a ripoff and does not care about its customers. Nor can customer service speak English when you do try to get assistance. Shame on you Gamehouse!

So not fixed. Many games shut down after about 5 minutes of play. All told we have 4 different computers - 2 laptops, 2 desktops, HP and Toshiba. 32 bit and 64 bit. It's not our computers.

I'm with all of you. I've checked everything with my cpu, and it's not me. I'm a gamehouse member. I had a fun ticket, so I used it to buy the game Jewel Quest mysteries. Downloaded it, played it, all 20 levels, no problems, and then two days ago, game started freezing up, the only way I could get out of it, was to cut my cpu off. I just read that some games required differend free plugins to work properly, so I've downloaded them. Before reading all of this, I have been running diagnoict tests, checking drivers, everything, and they all check out working, everything in order. Two hours later, I finally decide to come here, and thats when I read this thread. So what do I do, try redownloading it again, or what, need an answer plez, as I'm seriously addicted to this game. Will let you know if getting the plug ins solved my problem.
Thanks a bunch, and God Bless
Debbie

Same thing has been happening with me. Just yesterday I bought Fashion Assistant with a fun ticket and in the first mini game I made a wrong move and it shut down on me. Tried it again and it shut down on me. Now I can't even click "play game" without the game shutting down on me. I talked to a customer service rep and he refunded me and gave me a code to get a free different game and that game closed on my mom. We have a brand new iMac that we got back in November so I know it isn't the computer...

Having problems with Potion Bar, it's a purchased game which has been working fine until today, although the problem seemed to start after I went online and signed in to my GH account to see if I had credits. After that...unplayable, just keeps quitting to desktop (and also causes my mouse to freeze up so I have to reboot). I don't know yet if any of my other games are affected.

I'd really like to know if there is some kind of fix as the topic says 'now fixed' in the title, but after reading through it all, I don't see any fixes.

Unfortunately I don't think the fix is universal. I'm only on level 6 of Super Gem Drop (which I bought), and have had the game minimized three times already for the GameHouse Home Page to open. This is annoying beyond belief. I haven't gotten past level 10 because of these page interruptions. On my old computer, mid to high 30 levels were the norm. I'm about to throw in the towel and cancel my membership and review options for getting my money back, because the game in this state is of no use to me.

I have also had crashes with 20,000 Leagues, it's full of technical glitches. I don't know how it made it past GH scrutiny, to be honest.

Btw I posted this in a review I wrote for the game, but surprise surprise, the review seems to have got 'lost' in the ethers and has never made it on to the 20,000 Leagues review page (I reviewed VV4 Tree of Life later the same evening, that was a positive, uncritical review and made it onto the reviews the very next day, whadda ya know)

Hi 'SilverSuki' ...

Thanks for your comments. Don't worry; reviews are indeed posted but they can sometimes take 24-48 hours to appear on GameHouse.com (usually sooner than that).

We appreciate your patience and your contributions to ratings and reviews. But most of all we are glad to have you playing at GameHouse.

As for the technical issues reported about 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea - Captain Nemo, we have alerted our engineers and they are investigating the situation. We'll post more information as it becomes available.

Thank you for your patience.

Best wishes,

Bill

Hi grandmamum,

Try to add the file to the DEP.

Click Start, click Run, type sysdm.cpl, and then click OK.
On the Advanced tab, under Performance, click Settings.
On the Data Execution Prevention tab, use one of the following procedures:
Click Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only to select the OptIn policy.
Click Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select to select the OptOut policy, and then click Add to add the programs that you do not want to use the DEP feature.
Click OK two times.

I'm STILL having this problem, and in fact now it's worse, NONE of my GH games will play once I have visited the GH website. And it's not enough just to close the GH tab, I have to shut down Firefox altogether in order to be able to play ANY of my games, otherwise they repeatedly quit to desktop after just a few seconds.

They're fine with Firefox until I visit the GH website...after that, impossible to play anything until I close the browser altogether. Once I've closed FF they're fine. (I have no idea if it's the same for IE as I don't use it.)

I notice it's been mentioned that this quitting to desktop thing is a problem affecting FunPass users. I don't have FunPass, I have a GamePass monthly membership.

Hello Suki,

Thank you for posting your concern. I understand you are unable to play the GameHouse games in your computer which I know would be upsetting. The issue you describe seems to be very unfamiliar because Firefox or Internet explorer should not effect in playing any downloaded games installed in your computer. I suggest you to send an email to help@gamehouse.com with the following details so that we can analyze the issue:

1. Email address associated with your GameHouse account
2. Direct X Information (To find out the DirectX details copy and paste the following link in the address bar in your web browser, http://www.gamehouse.com/forums/support-forum/DirectX-Diagnostic-Tool---Helpful-When-Contacting-Support-id1693)

Thank you for playing at GameHouse.

Not had this problem with most of the games I've been playing, but Create A Mall seems to do this now. I played quite happily for about 2-3 hours the other day, until I finished Level 2. Now it seems I'm lucky if I'm given enough time to complete even one of the days of a level for it to shut down randomly. Sometimes 5 minutes sometimes half an hour. I've checked Big Fish and apparently some of the users there were having the same problem, so I dunno if it's a Gamehouse funpass issue or a Game issue.

Anyone else having this problem or managed to solve it?

thanks in advance.

Reb.

i dont think anything is fixed just moved on to new games. my problem is my kingdom for the princess iii, also had problems on 1 and ii. i play for about 2 minutes and then the game freezes. i have contacted tech support and they keep running me around in a circle. i have sent them the directx report and everything and they keep telling me that my video card is not upto date. according to hp this is the latest video card for my system. i am running an older computer with xp. seems like this is happening across the board maybe you need to get some new help in tech support and have 1 person per ticket and not many persons per ticket.

Hello, xtremefun43, and thanks for your comments.

I appreciate your feedback about your Technical Support experience and I'll gladly review the transcript with my colleagues on that team to determine the best next steps for you. We'll follow up with you via email within the next 24 hours.

And I understand your desire for one Support representative per ticket; however it would not be practical in delivering the proper service levels to our customers. Everyone in Customer Support/Technical Support works together and they have access to the complete transcript to allow for continuity of service.

Again, we'll follow up with you by midday tomorrow. Meanwhile thank you for your patience.

Best regards,
Bill

xtremefun43, The best way to take care of the problems you have running games is replace that dinosaur of a computer you're using if you can handle the financial end of it. Even though most (or all) of the new games coming out say they'll run on XP, that doesn't mean they'll run well. I know from experience. What do you think of this idea?

I have to agree with Yusef - I had been having problems just like most of the ones mentioned in this thread. I just replaced my dinosaur-age computer (XP, 5+ years old) with a new HP that has a pretty decent video card (NVidia GeForce GTX 550ti). No more problems. I'm convinced all the game designers have great video cards, maximum RAM, etc. and a lot of older systems just can't keep up with them. Most of the newer games require quite a bit of video RAM -my new puter has 1GB of video RAM so I hope it will be effective for a long time. (My old puter had an NVidia 6200 with 64 MB of video RAM - what a difference!!!). If you can't afford a new system, or aren't ready to make the purchase, see about upgrading your video card (you will probably need a larger power supply to run it, so be prepared to possibly need to replace that too) and increasing the RAM on your old system to see if that will help.

I know, technology will eventually catch up with me and I'll be in the same boat again - half the games won't run. But for now, I'm enjoying playing a lot of games my old system couldn't handle. I have run into one that wouldn't run properly - so the world is better, but not perfect

I\ve had this unexplained problem with several games, first Island tribe 2. Then for the last few weeks with every game I downloaded and tried to play. After almost exactly 10 minutes the game has a problem and has to close, do I want to send error report. This was with Red Crow mysteries and Hello Venice. And even after reinstalling windows, and updating every driver, installing dirext, flash player and shockwave player. Those games still dont want to play, not for more then 10 minutes atleast...... I just downloaded Solitaire Kingdom and that game I can play as long as I want!
