) And I'm looking forward to posting a review, but in fairness I think I'll have to wait until it's sorted out.

1. Installed the game
2. went to: C:\ProgramData\MumboJumbo\Midnight Mysteries Salem Witch Trials
3. deleted the profile.dat file
4. After the game's first screen of getting the "ink pen"
5. I went to the main menu and changed the user name from "player" to hplieb.
6. I played the game and it works!
I haved deleted several dat files and the game continues to save my

Part of me wants to delete it and move on but I'm hooked and really want to finish the game. Unfortunately I'm pregnant and have a two year old so I can't stay up all night to play in one sitting like i used to be able to.

Many thanks for your post. I'm sorry for the confusion surrounding this game's updated version. I believe that JasonO was referring to the Premium Edition, for which we did post instructions about downloading the update. You asked about the standard edition at that time and I explained that we would look into that and post information when available.
I'll follow up with the game's Producer and our Tech Team to see where that stands and will let you know here as soon as I know. I should have more info tomorrow.
Again I apologize for the confusion and I thank you for being so patient and staying in touch with us about the update to Midnight Mysteries - Salem Witch Trials.
Kind regards,
Bill

Thank you for posting at GameHouse. The game "Midnight Mysteries - Salem Witch Trials" had issues in the first place when it was launched. The game developers had modified the game and released a new version of the game which fixed all the issues for the game. When the new version of the game was released it was updated in the GameHouse server and it was suggested to all the GameHouse customers to reinstall the game from gamehouse.com. But since you purchased the CD version of the game from Walmart, it will not work because the CD contains the older version of the game.
The only way you can play this game is to get a new version of the Game CD for which you could contact Walmart to see if they can replace the game for you. We suggest you to purchase games from gamehouse.com in future so that we can give you support if in case of any such instances.
Best regards,
Jason

acorn wrote: I purchased this game (CD) from a retail outlet 2 weeks ago and it won't save my progress. I have read the above comments and wonder when a patch will be provided to people such as myself who have purchased this game in good faith. We should not be expected to download the game (I expect with an additional cost) in order to use all functionality.
If those who have purchased the game in CD form can have a free full version download, that would be acceptable. If this is not an option, I would expect a patch be made available as a matter of priority. Also as a matter of customer support, this would seem a reasonable outcome.
You have identified the fault and corrected the download version and now you should be doing the same for the CD version.
