DirectX Diagnostic Tool - Helpful When Contacting Support

Hello GameHouse members,

We're glad to see your participation in this community forum, where you have the opportunity to share and discuss your experiences with our games and where you can offer assistance to each other when challenges arise. Many questions can be answered and a number of issues can be resolved in these pages thanks to the collective experience of all GameHouse customers. But when you have an issue that needs to be addressed by our Customer Support team, it is very helpful to have information about your computer system's configuration. We recommend using the DirectX Diagnostic Tool, which will quickly and easily gather those details:

1. Go to your "Start" menu, then click "Run."

2. Type "dxdiag" (but without quotation marks) in the "Run" dialog box.

3. Click OK.

The DirectX Diagnostic Tool window will open and begin processing (you'll see the green progress bar in the lower left of that window). Once the diagnostic has finished running (the green progress bar will disappear):

1. Click "Save All Information."

2. Under "Save As" accept the default "DxDiag" file name and "Text File (*.txt)" file type and save to your Desktop.

3. Click "Exit" to close the DirectX Diagnostic Tool.

4. Compose a new email message to Customer Support and:
a. Attach the "DxDiag.txt" file from your Desktop.*
b. Write a description of the problem you are encountering.
c. Include any error messages you received.
d. Send to: support@gamehouse.com
*An alternate method is to open the "DxDiag.txt" file from your Desktop, select and copy all of the text and paste it into your email.

The little bit of extra time and effort to follow these steps will allow your issue and the details of your system's configuration to be logged into our tracking system, which our Customer Support and Development Teams access and collaborate on to fix any problems with games.

Thank you for playing at GameHouse! We appreciate your business and support.

You will have to email support@gamehouse.com for this assistance as it requires discussion personal information that cant be talked about on these forums.

I just found out which version of DirectX I have another way. I clicked on Help on the IE bar, clicked on "IE help" on the drop down menu. Wrote " what version of directx do I have" on the search line in the pop up. The first of 30 results was "Which version of DirectX is on your computer?" It gives you a link to the "DirectX diagnostic tool". Click on that and the system info comes right up and I found the answer at the bottom. Another piece of information that might be helpful is what video driver ( mine was called a graphics accelerator ) a computer has. I just downloaded an update/upgrade for mine on the intel website. Someone drew my attention to the fact there may be an update/upgrade for it. Most of the time companies contact us with these things, sometimes we have to contact them.

This thread is mainly supposed to be an instructional announcement instead of a discussion so I'm locking it for now.
