Nitric Acid and Swab

I am in the autopsy room and am stuck on swabbing the hand with dilute nitric acid. I completed the hidden object part, but do not have a swab or nitric acid in my inventory. I have clicked on everything on the screen that looks like an acid bottle and/or looks like a swab. I am stuck! I have peeked at a walkthrough, but all it says is to swab the hand and not where to get the stuff to do it.

HEEEELP!!!

I did the same thing - finally figured it out, but now can't analyze the swab? How'd you do it?

I have been swabbing nitric acid over this hand for ever and it just does not finish the task - the hand does not change, the swab cannot be analyzed. I am sure I have not missed one single spot on that hand - is there a special trick to this??

Hi Justpeechy and Maxxie,

Examination of the hand: Use your left mouse button and keep holding the button down to use the cotton swab over the hand until Will says to you, that he needs to test the swab in the lab.

Lab: Use the swab on the swab machine, which is situated at the right side of the lab at the far back.
Use the bullet on the ballistics machine, which is situated at the right side of the lab at the bottom. Click on the computer monitor to receive an automated ballistics report reading.

It just does not work. If I just hold the mouse button down without continuously clicking it no "snowy" substance leaves the swab, it does not do anything when I pass over the hand.
I assume I need to get it to "snow" which I have been doing all over the hand but to no avail.
No matter how long i hold it down, nothing happens and I just cannot go on.
I know about analyzing it etc, but just can't get there.
I am on a mac, but I my left mouse click is active on everything else.
I am quite lost with this one - any other suggestion?
