Really excited to see this game...
I bought it in its original, large file, entire game version, but...
Never finished it, because that version has horrible performance/display issues due to its not playing nicely with nvidia drivers.

Off to test whether this chapterized version under GH build will run correctly...
will report back!

to see GH catching more large file / true adventure games !

I wish I could figure out how to use the objects in the inventory. I can't seem to find the case that Nostradamus is supposedly giving her. Maybe that's the secret to using items? Help anyone?

I'm having the same problem. I am unable to change her clothes. I looked up a walkthrough on another site and found a screen shot of the "case" which allows you to change the clothes & use the inventory items. I cannot find any way to get to such a screen in this game. I suspect that the GH version has a glitch & it is missing. Help?

I think there is not anything wrong with the game itself.

Rather we must complete a number of tasks to get her disguised, with last step being to put on the clothing.

SPOILER ALERT:

(1) Find ALL items for the disguise, including hat & boots, etc.
We know we have all them when the items combine from separate icons in inventory into ONE icon named 'Ceasar's clothes'.

(2) Get a wig & prepare that into a mustache & short hair -- use the magnify glass option in inventory to get the scissors, etc tools.

(3) Collect all ingredients for the complexion recipe: water, oil, etc.

Then... make recipe, put cream on her, the wig on her, & finally, we can put on the clothes.

This game needs the steps to all be done to get her dressed in the disguise.

Game's graphics are lovely & game is complex with terrific storyline. It's also a hard game if help is 'off'.

That Microids/Anuman devs give no tutorial is a bit tough on most players as it takes a while to get the hang of the controls & tasking steps, but it's a deep, rich adventure game, for sure.

Hope this can help a bit !

Sorry, this isn't the answer. You can't use the tools (clay, bucket, rope) without the case. I have all of the items, but can't use them because I wasn't given the case.

If you click on the magnifying glass to the right of the inventory, items that can be altered or interacted with wiil highlight and then another screen opens with the toolbox on the left and the item on the right. You don't actually have the toolbox in the inventory. For example, when you get the long wig you have to cut it to get the hair to the correct length and get a moustache.
I find the walkthroughs do not go with this version of the game exactly. Now I'm at an impasse because I've done what the walkthrough indicated, but it tells me I can't move on because I haven't completed my tasks. Will muddle through because the game is very good. Hope this post helps someone move his/her game along.

I found that you need to go back and talk to the dad again after finding all the items and preparing them. However in order to interact with some of the items they need to appear on your menu icon in the bottom right hand of the screen.

Now that I have been able to do all of that I still have not found out how to visit Catherine. : (

I figured out, the controls in this game and the "case" are nothing like those shown in walkthroughs. You don't change her clothes. If you have collected all the clothes & cut the wig, you are done with that part. The clothes will change when needed. Parts of the original game were removed. A YouTube video of the start of the game shows many steps that aren't here.

I've visited Catherine, but most steps along the way & after that are so difficult to figure out, often because they don't make sense with missing steps. Add that to the cumbersome controls (5 steps to use an item) has negated any enjoyment this game might offer. I clicked on an item I thought might be useful. It disappeared from the scene, but didn't show in inventory. 10 minutes of retracing my steps returned me to where I was & I looked up at the ceiling. When I clicked there, I discovered that I must have been carrying the item around the entire time. The cursor gave no indication.

I want my ticket back. Unplayable.

I think you get the case when the father first speaks. But I have the case and all the clothing, and still can get nothing to work. This game might work better if there were some sort of direction. But there is no useful help provided. This is the second game in a row that looked so promising, but has failed to deliver.

Like Zaza68 & others, I've struggled to finish this game.

Game is not worth playing IMO; I've done a review detailing why. In short, this 1/2 version 'episode' is a dog's breakfast!

As Blondie723 notes, many steps have been removed & game hardly makes sense anymore re how to make inventory work to do what we know needs doing. No adventure game should make getting the inventory steps to work harder than figuring out the actual puzzles/tasks: that's rubbish!

There's NO tutorial & we must go through up to 5 nonsensical/illogical steps just to achieve an inventory-based task.

I agree with ITgirl: the game disappoints.
I suggest anyone interested in the story instead consider the full-version game; it gives a good but hard classic adventure & is correct per available walkthroughs--unlike this episode.

I'm angry with Anuman/Microids (the devs). This isn't 1st time they've cut up & made a mess of an original classic--seems a cheap $-making gimmick to me.
I really hope GH declines to offer any more of their games.

This is really Nostradamus The Last Prophecy Lite! I finally went to another site and purchased the full game and there is no comparison. It really is a disgrace to have cut up this game like this.
