This is a spoiler so here goes. The order is White King,White Knight,White Queen,White Bishop,Black Knight and finally Black Castle.

Do you mean in the French Revolution era? I haven't had chess pieces in mine because there are several different versions of this puzzle, I'm assuming you're talking about the one in the bookcase where you switch them round to put them in a particular order. (Sometimes it's porcelain figurines instead).
