How do I get the octopus to fall asleep so I can get into the other 2 areas?

You have to give it something that looks like an herb to put it to sleep. The pieces of it can be found from Demeter.

I can't find the last piece of the herb if it is in the urn how do I find the stone flower?

Hi Rayjn,

The Stone flower goes indeed into the urn (huge goblet) and you get there the last piece of the insomnia cure, which will appear. Like by nearly every object you place in this game you have to find the fragments, which are most of the time in an other place. So keep on looking and the hint can help you until Mortimer says: "Not all pieces of the items may be visible at first." Now you have to place some items from your inventory to the so called "Hot Spots" (your mouse turns into a gear-button when you hoover over it). After that the fragments of your item you seek gets visible and you can complete it for further use.
Unfortunately I can't tell you where the fragments of the stone flowers are, they change location by each time you play the game.

I feel like I'm going in circles - to get something you have to do something, but you can't because you can't do it until something else happens! I hovered over the gears and no fragments became visible. I have been stuck on this forever. Ihave stuff to place, but there doesn't seem to be a place to put them. Help please!

Hi Kristyandc,

When your mouse turns into the gears sign, then you have to place an item or items on it, otherwise it will not show, what is hidden. So when everything in your inventory doesn't match the hot spot (gear place) you might have to pick up something you have missed. so please let me know which place you are in, where your mouse turns into gears and which parts are now in your inventory.
