Downloaded this as free game - got right to the end - NO key in the inventory to solve the ghost room puzzle - what happened?

I like this game but each time I play I get stuck in the exact same spot! I am stuck in the west wing, I have a banana, curtain piece, elephant stone and Guitar stings paper as the misplaced items yet to be placed. As far as the Puzzle pieces, I have an old book and a Sabre that I can't figure out how to use. In the music room, there is a broken lamp and a light socket that needs a lamp shade and a bulb but in the area that tells you what to find, I wasn't told to find either one of those items. Also, there is a hidden room that I cannot get into for some reason. I cannot figure out how to get the cheese to give to the mouse to get the brooch e that the nanny ghost needs. No matter how many times I play it over again, I always get stuck in the west wing. I need help please! I looked at a walk-through that a support person found or me and the walk-through doesn't tell you how to open the hidden room!
