I enter my name and hit enter and the game crashes. Is there anything I can do short of downloading it again? I'm still on a dial up connection. It took a LONG time. Any ideas?

I guess you should contact Customer Support. I just tried the game again, & got the exact same result. This was my 2nd download. I amgoing to try on a different computer now.

I have Vista - I crashed, redownloaded, and crashed again. Guess they didn't test it fully on all operating systems.

Well! I thought it was only me! I have exactly the same problem. I hit enter and poof! the game crashes. I have tried everything, re-installing several times, removing with Revo, diabling my firewall, etc. Still nothing.
I have left a message for customer service, however, no reply
I have a GameHouse FunPass.. I am wondering if that is an issue?
Did the different computer work?

Hey everyone -- there's a bug in the game. Until GH can release a fixed version on the site, check out the fixes mentioned in this thread:

I was also having the same problem - but I was able to play the one hour demo by logging into the following website: http://www.mortimerbeckett.com/mortimer-beckett-and-the-lost-king.html

The download went smoothly (I used the second choice download site - it was much faster) and I was able to play the game with no glitches.

If I decide to purchase it, hopefully Gamehouse will have solved the problem by then. If not, it can be purchased at the game producers' website as listed above.

No, fran, using a different computer did not work for me. Although I was using Vista on both computers. I have read that alot of people could get the game to work by upgrading to Intenet Explorer 8. Cloud 9 also has a good fix. (He gave the link to it above). I have not tried his fix, though, because there seems to be several glitches in the game (crash in Chapter 2, no hidden objects), & I don't want to give myself a headache! LOL Hopefully by the time they get the regular version out, the hiccups will be gone.

Hi everyone,

I am pleased to report that the name entry issue with Mortimer Beckett and the Lost King Premium Edition has been fixed and the new version of the game is now available for purchase or re-download of a previously purchased version of this game. The new, fixed version is also available for play by our FunPass members.

To our customers who purchased Mortimer Beckett and the Lost King Premium Edition and who are experiencing the game shutting down when the player's name is entered:

1. Please uninstall the previously downloaded version.
2. Please re-download the game from the link in your My Games list and install this new version. You should be able to enter your name and play the game normally.

On behalf of the entire GameHouse team I thank you for your patience. I realize this has been a frustrating situation; thank you for for allowing us the opportunity to resolve it.

Kind regards,
Bill
