Stuck at the Treasure Chest!

Can anyone help? No matter what combination I try to get past the chest with the 5 keys, I haven't been able to do it! I would really like to move on to see the rest of the game. Please help with the right combination. Thanks.

I just completed the game. I cannot remember that exact level - which chapter is it? I know that you have to get the code from another room and it will tell you the colors on the keys go into the specific roman numerals. You also have to get the key with the green tag as well to get past this level.

Thank you for your reply. I have tried this and Mortimer just keeps popping up with a window saying that I tried them in the wrong order. Is there anymore suggestions please?

HELP HELP no matter what combination I try to get past the chest with the 5 keys does not work. I have tried the 12544315 does not work. I am not sure if this is a software problem. PLEASE HELP

Use the combination that's in your journal book. If you don't have the combo in there, then you first have to do something else (elsewhere) to get that combo written in your journal and then the combo will work.

I cant get the treasure chest to open either. I get the 1 and 2 but every time I get to the 5 it tells me wrong combination. Am I doing it wrong?

I am also having the same problem. I have the the roman numerals in my notebook and I am assuming I am to start at left to right to enter the numbers with the last 3 repeating on the left side? But it's not working. The game guide was confusing as well. It said to enter keys 1 thru 5. That certainly wasn't much help! There also seems to be some kind of glich as when I re-try the keys sometimes will not click so I have to exit out of the screen and location and then re-enter to try again. Can anyone advise me on this?

Thank you, but I have now figured this out for myself. I had misread what the game guide indicated. The keys numbered 1 thru 5 left to right... so you need to click each key "once" that corresponds to the roman numeral till you have entered all of them. The Chest will then open and you can retrieve the bottle then preceed with the rest of the game.

I don't understand either....I start on the left and can't get past the third key. It pops up and says to try again. Also there are 8 numbers and 5 keys...please help been stuck all day.

I also done everything from in order to front to back to back to front and also did it in 1,1,2,3,4,4,5,5, both front and back it doesn't work either. By the way there is no roman numbers written on the keys anywhere. I even tried turning the keys corspondence to the numbers forward and back dosen't work either. i don't know how you figured it out you got lucky because I think the game is defective, the person who did this puzzel should get his head examine. i think he was doing drugs at the time and didn't know what the hell he was doing he out to be fired from doing this game. I had to start this game over three times and it still didn't matter it didn't change much at all. So if anyone else has a clue other then what was said below please let me know thank you Litogot50

ok this is how you do it there are 5 keys. the combination is 12544315. the first key turn it once the go to the next key turn it once. go to the last key turn it once. then go to the forth key turn it twice. the go to the third key turn it once. go to the first key turn it once and then go back to the last key and turn it once. (left to right). THE KEYS DONT HAVE A NUMBER ON IT BUT PRETEND ITS THERE.

I was confused aswell but with alot of patience I Finally worked it out
the numbers are 1 2 5 4 4 3 1 5 Turn the key just once on each number
and the chest will open I found out the IV Stands for 4 and not 6 As I
and alot more in the Forum thaught that it was 6 good luck.
