Customers may notice that if they try to close the game using the Windows Task Manager the game will display a "crash" error message. Closing the game in the usual fashion from within the game's Menu will allow normal exit without an error message being displayed.

Worse, you cannot save your game. If you leave the game, you have to start all over. <groan>

Looks like a great game, but I cannot devote hours in one sitting to complete the game. I am getting tired of playing the first 15% of the game. <very loooong sigh>

Same problem here, and it is very frustrating! What's going on?

Oh, please, say it ain't so. Well, I guess I can leave the game open until I finish it - if I can just get it to run. I played the beta version without a problem, but the full version at BFG will not run, and iWin's version won't run, either. Access violations. I was soooooo hoping that it would be okay here.

Other games that wouldn't run at the other two would run here, so.... here's keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm unable to get the game to run properly. The bottom 1/3rd of the game won't show on the screen when it runs in fullscreen mode. If I switch it to a windowed mode, it shows ONLY the bottom 1/3rd of the game, but pushes it way up to the top of my screen, where I can't move it! I want to play this game, and it wont run correctly!!!

I officially HATE this game. I just invested several hours; felt I was almost to the finish....the cave in plymouth.....went to minimize; game crashed. of course - no save.
I have to question WHY you would release a game with KNOWN problems and issues that are so FRUSTRATING.

WARNING - if I were you, I wouldn't even attempt to play it until it's fixed.
Thank heavens I'm a fun pass user; if I had paid $$$$ for this experience; I would be highly annoyed.

My game saves but I'm still stuck. Where is the cheat sheet?

I downloaded this game from GameHouse the day it came out and have never experienced any problems. I'm using WinXP SP3. But I have seen many problems reported on other game sites for this game.

Hi everyone,

Relative to the issue of the game not saving progress:

I have just played through 20% of the game myself and I discovered that the game did save my progress if I exited the game via the Menu - just as 'Chuck' had reported above. There is something a bit unusual, though, about the pattern of exiting the game.

With most games the player must create their profile by entering their name before beginning play. This game, however, prompts the player to enter their profile name just before exiting the game. I exited the game in normal fashion (by following the exit steps via the Menu), entered "William" and quit out of the game altogether. When I restarted the game about 15 minutes later, I was returned to exactly the same place where I had left off.

Please give that a try and let us know your results. If your game play is still not being saved, please contact GameHouse Customer Support so that your issue can be logged and tracked. The fastest way to reach us is by calling 1-866-831-5895. If you prefer you can send an email to help@gamehouse.com.

Thank you for playing at GameHouse!

Ok- I've tried the suggestion below; HOWEVER- I never get prompted to enter my profile name just before exiting the game??? I create a profile at the start of the game and that's all...I've started the bloody game 6 times now and getting extremely frustrated, and yes- I have exited properly through the main menu button. It's a wonderful game, and I have enjoyed the first 10% of it, I just don't have the time to devote an entire day to playing it. Are there any other suggestions??

I've given up on playing...I got as far as 50% finished, exited properly and when I went back to play all my saved game was almost completely gone....it had me begin at 14% completed. I have uninstalled and even went deep into my computer folder to get it completely out, reinstalled, which takes 15 minutes, and started my play again. Same problem exists. Please let me know when the bugs are worked out. Love gamehouse and the funpass and this is the first game problem i've had. Also I have a new computer and am using windows 7 home premium, so I know its not my computer.

I can't play the game at all. It freezes where you put the pen in the ink at the very first scene in the game. I have a new computer with windows 7 and have had no trouble playing any other game. THEN I'm playing the new Clockwork Man (another premium edition) and get an error when I finally find the walkthrough. HELP!!

Hello everyone,

An updated version of this game is now available. This update fixes the issue that prevented individual player progress from being saved upon exiting the game. Please see the new "sticky" topic I posted in this forum; it is titled "Updated Version of Midnight Mysteries - Salem Witch Trials Premium Edition available at GameHouse!" and that thread contains complete instructions for uninstalling the previous version of the game and obtaining the updated version.

We thank you all for your patience. We appreciate your business and your support.

Best regards,
Bill

Midnight Mysteries Salem Witch Trial. In order to get the game to save you must right click the shortcut icon and enter as Administrator. Works like a charm.
