Every time I try to play this game it crashes! I am currently using Windows Vista OS can u tell me how to make it work plz?

I am stuck on the chess board! Numerous times I have clicked on the correct square, but yet I lose a chess piece. No matter how light I click my mouse on the correct square, I still loose a piece, esp when there are four or more squares that light up. And, if I click anywhere on a square other than directly in the middle, I lose a chess piece. I've even tried using my touchpad. No good. Also, it goes so fast there is no way I can keep up. I end up looking cross-eyed at it. Isn't there a way to skip this stupid puzzle!!?? so I can go on? Someone, please help me! I've been at it for days now.
