Panda Cloud Antivirus flagged 7 Wonders II.exe as bad. I submitted it to www.VirusTotal-dot-com where 11 out of 43 scanners found issues. I also submitted it to another similar site, VirScan-dot-org, where 9 out of 36 scanners found issues (many of the same scanners as VirusTotal). Scanners finding trojans and other malware in this file include Kaspersky, Comodo, F-Secure, AntiVir, Sunbelt, Sophos, Panda. Most reported a "Trojan-downloader".
Is this file definitely safe, or does it contain components that *can* be use for no good, or is it something I should not run? I've now downloaded over 20 programs from GameHouse and this is the first one flagged as malware.
Unfortunately, I too received trojan warnings in this game download. This is only the 2nd game that I have found viruses in (Which is a MUCH better than Pogo which almost every game there contains a virus or malware. Hope this game gets cleaned up as I would love to play it.
Mcafee also flagged this as a trojan and blocked download. Fortunately this is the first time I have ever had a bad download from Gamehouse, hopefully the last time.....
Trojan Horse Downloader.Agent2.AFXU according to AVG. I've downloaded this as a 'daily free' twice and still AVG comes up with 'heal or move to vault, so I just uninstalled it again.
I feel sorry for those who made the mistake in actually paying real money for it.
Gamehouse, Publishers or the Producers are not professional, it's bad for business and someone needs to take responsibility ASAP.
Oh well, good luck to the customers on getting they're money back - This is an excellent example of why I tolerate ad's!
If it wasn't for the sponsors, I'd be quite bored, thank you.
Avast! antivirus, too, detects a threat from 7 Wonders II. I googled it and found the problem is described as an adware bundler that installs Adware-TryMedia, and "Trymedia may download and execute new software from a remote server. This new software may or may not be malicious". Avast! moved 7 Wonders II to "jail" and that's the best it deserves.
I'm surprised that GameHouse doesn't test these things out before offering to sell them. This is the 2nd time I've downloaded a game of theirs that got tagged as a threat. Probably better than other game sites, but disappointing.
