Never played a Sim. game, before, but I thought I'd give it a try...within the first hour, I was addicted and bought it ! Have to admit, I hard time, initially, trying to figure out what I was supposed to do. After losing all the adults, in my 1st Tribe, I resorted to the on-line cheats to get me started. The cheats will explain what the Puzzles/Milestones are that need to be completed in order to advance in the game. Once I got the hang of it, I had a hard time leaving the Island & going to bed! It's very relaxing, as there's no time limit for puzzle completion, just requires some planning on how to reach each Milestone. It's easy to get very attached to your Villagers and what goal you have for each of them. If, like me, you're new to this type of game, be sure to check the Game Speeds available in the Options section. I find that when I'm actively playing, I use the 2X game speed, but if I'm not going to be checking in on them for a day or so, I set it on 1/2 Speed or I Pause the game, entirely. It can get a bit frustrating, when you want to accumulate Tech. points and there's not enough to do to acquire them. Overall, I'd recommend this game, if you're looking for a nice, relaxing way to spend some time. I'm so hooked on this series that, although I haven't completed The Lost Children, I've already purchased The Secret City! Great for all ages, since you can play at your own pace without worrying about time running out for Puzzle completion. My grandchildren reach each Milestone way before I figure them out, but I'm finding it's quite addictive for those of us in the Over 55 generation, also! Thanks to its crisp, clear graphics and ease in moving about the island, you do not need the vision nor finger speed which many games require.
