It's a fun game you can play every now and then even after you win the game.

If you're familiar with the other Tradewinds games you'll like this one. It's very similar to Tradewinds Legends: we're back on the water, and the graphics and stories are simpler. Navigating ports and finding where you need to go to solve tasks is easier. One of the drawbacks of the Tradewinds Caravans was that it seemed cluttered, which made me glad I was done with one character and had no desire to try another. This one, however, makes you want to try another character and keep playing.

I've played all of the tradewinds series (see my other reviews) - this seems to be the best of all: great story lines (you can play several characters, even customize your own), great graphics, lots of history based settings. In particular, i enjoy being able to amass a fleet, not just a bigger ship with more armaments. True, the battles are not too challenging (as in all the tradewinds games), but that is partly due to how you arm your vessels, what offerings you make at the temple, and what other goodies you buy/win. Tradewinds Odyssey is a keeper - I not only bought this game, I also bought the backup disc - THANKS, Gamehouse, for a great game with hours (days) of repeated enjoyment!

These are my favorite types of games, but unfortunately there are very few of them.I like that there are 4 characters to choose one to play. Each one will have different quests for you to complete[but the side quests will be the same for all]. Not terribly linear so you can choose when to attempt or complete a quest.Nice, if you need to build up your ships.Lots to do and interesting stories. Plus the characters have lots of funny lines and I enjoyed the voice overs. Highly recommended!

I kept out the kid friendly check because some of the dialogue got sort of racy for kids, although they probably wouldn't get it. Just suggestive and pretty funny for an adult. The fight scenes on my computer were slow motion, they dragged, I don't remember the Legends game doing that. All in all it was fun, but I don't think I'd want a five year old playing it.

The fight scenes in this game look like something spawned from "PONG"!! I personally prefer "Tradewinds 2" over this version HANDS DOWN!! Don't waste your time on this one, folks!!

A great game. Fun dialogue, good quests. I played it and played it and played it - all the characters, every quest.
