I play games to play. I spent the hour trial getting through the tutorial and just barely starting my own game. There are lots of things you need to do in the right order for things to work - too much thinking and not enough reward for my play time.

I agree with another poster that you can spend most of the demo just familiarising yourself with the game through the tutorial. There is a lot to do and really a 1 hour demo for this type of game is not long enough. However, having played other turn based strategy games I had a good idea what this game would be like so I bought it and I am very glad I did. Think Civilization meets Puzzle Quest, then add cartoon characters and a dash of humour (which reminds me of the Horrid Histories books) and you have a unique, amusing, involved and long game. In a nutshell, you build up cities and armies, moving around the map to conquer territories, battle creatures and other armies and search for artifacts that help you in battle. It is complex. Villages have to be upgraded to acquire buildings for different army units. Units can be merged together to form large armies or split to move independently and boarded onto ships for sea travel. Ships can fight other ships. You can buy and sell items and even buy Generals who have their own unique abilities. There are 20 missions across 5 campaigns. Each mission has a primary goal and secondary goals to achieve. The first 3 missions of the Rome campaign is the tutorial and will probably take up most of the demo. The 4th mission you are on your own against the Egyptian empire. As well as the tutorial, there is a more in-depth help in the Options menu. The Match 3 element is brilliant in this type of game because it removes the complexity of battle tactics usually required in RPG/strategy games. So far, there have been two types of M3 games: untimed battle mode when you fight barbarians, creatures and armies and ship vs ship. The opposing sides take turns matching tiles to fill up the attack bar. Different units in the army require different tiles. When the attack bar is full the unit is ready to attack. This mode can take a long time as it finishes when all enemies are eliminated. There are options for surrender and automatic resolution. The other mode is for looting areas and random events that occur. This is a timed mode and involves rotating groups of 4 tiles and make matches to meet certain requirements. if you've ever played games like Civilization or Risk and you enjoy M3s then you will like Tiny Tokens. If you like M3s and have been curious but never tried the big strategy games then this could be a wonderful learning curve. There was mention of Tiny Tokens 2 and I am already eager for it!

First off, I think that the idea behind this game is a good one. The concept of building a force and combating an opponent is captured by the game, down to the different characteristics of various forces that you can choose to employ. The problem was that in an effort to include all of the variables, the game became too complicated to enjoy. The one hour demo wasn't enough time to really learn the mechanics of the game. I bought the full version, and after several hours, I find that it does not get any easier. On the plus side, I feel that if you stick with it long enough to really become familiar with the process, it could actually be enjoyable due to these same variables. It would make replaying different every time. One additional note, I found that using a laptop touch pad instead of a mouse made the scrolling map difficult to control.

only played this game about 15 mins. it is totally confusing to me. there is just too much to remember. the tutorial is insane with all the info. i found that i was getting frustrated instead of enjoying playing. the concept is good-conquer territory, but actually doing it...just too much. hope u have a better experience.

This one is a repeat play game, even the set campaigns you could play again and again and have a different outcome. It's a mixture of Risk and match 3. I'm enjoying it a lot.
