My daughter thinks the best part of this game is the Sprouts address you "Oh great one!" It's a Little People game with beautiful graphics and atmosphere. And she has hit on the heart of the game...it's about enjoying the little Sprouts. Sprouts is an immersive world where you need to hang for a while. Meet your Sprouts need for food, sleep, motivation and curiosity and they will work diligently for you but slowly. Nothing happens quickly here. Move the Sprouts onto rocks, flowers or butterflies and they may grant you karma points "Oh great one, this is for you!" Earning karma points gives you spells such as lightening, making the sun shine, or rain fall. Slowly very slowly the Sprouts build structures and invent things to meet quests and inch toward the end game and the end game was okay. But this is a game where you're supposed to enjoy the journey. There's something sweet and addictive about watching the Sprouts work and play. They cry "Whee!" when they're having fun. And say "I'm so bored." if their motivation or curiosity gets too low. Every Sprout pink or blue sounds like a teen boy and they don't seem to have individual personalities. Yet the game is filled with individual sounds like rain fall that made me keep coming back until the end.

This game is very cool. I get attached to my little sprouts and I love their names. I can even remember them! Cedar, Petuna, Larch, Tulip, Cypress, Moonlight, and Rue... I only have seven so far and I haven't had any die yet. I like how they are so sweet and willing to work diligently as long as you water and sun their crops, hatch the eggs you beam down to the Earth, and keep their motivation and curiosity high. I'm currently working on building the Tool Shop. I will keep this one until I beat it!

These guys are cute. I love that they call you Oh Great One. I have played Gemini Lost and Virtual Villagers, but I like this one better. You have to be more involved in the game making sure your people eat, sleep, stay motivated and curious. It isn't hard, but unlike other games after the game gets started, you have to stay involved and track the progress and needs of these little guys. I have gotten bored with the other games because there seems to be so much time spent waiting for the next goal to meet. This keeps you interacting with the game. Because of that I feel that I am more attached to these characters than I have been in the past. The bonus "finds" pop up fast enough that it is sometimes difficult to keep up with them all. I also really enjoy that it allows for more interaction with your characters. You can give your guys individual gifts as you see fit. You also build a wishing well where the characters can make a wish to you to grant them something. It is very sweet and I will probably be purchasing this game to play with my nieces as I think they will enjoy it very much!

Even as an adult, I thoroughly enjoyed all the corners and crevices of the Sprouts Adventures. The tiny little Sprouts voices tell you what they need and keep you on track as their "Great One." If you are looking for a family friendly, sweet-natured, breath of fresh air, you will love this game.
