I thought I'd give Slime Army a try, even though it looks more like a kids game. The Slime Army, lead by a 'high ranking' blue Slime, are sent to fight off the Slime Kingdom invaders. While you are playing match-3 at the top, your army is battling the bad guys at the bottom of the screen. There are 36 levels to complete, and several Bosses to defeat. The colors are bright and would attract any age group. The problem with the bright colors is ..... they blend in too much with each other. The only ones that stand out are pink, green & red. The yellow and orange, light and dark blue, and even purple are a bit difficult to differentiate when you're trying to do a quick match-3. Plus, you're so busy with the match-3, you don't get much opportunity to see your Slime do battle. I'm not sure how much this game is really kid-friendly. Some of the levels can take a LONG time (one I timed at 29 minutes). Plus, your Slime do die on the battlefield, as well as the bad guys. The Slime do make noises, but I'm not sure if it's a battle cry, or them dying. When playing the match-3, some Slime are plain, while others carry special weapons. If you match ones with weapons, then that color and weapon appears on the battlefield (if you have time to catch a glimpse). You just keep matching Slime, hoping that the weapons you need and the strength of other help (tornadoes, lightening, etc) are enough to beat the bad guys. There are upgrades you can purchase after each level, and I recommend you do, because it does become more difficult as the game continues. Between the colors blending too much and straining my eyes, to not being able to watch your battles, to not sure if it's really that kid-friendly, plus annoying music, made this game a disappointment.
