I found this game extremely clicky. The HO scenes weren't that obvious to me, one item going with another. Many were far fetched, or too dark to tell what the objects were. And I couldn't find the "floppy disc" and the help button referred me to the photo book?????? The "sparkle" hint which helped with which to go was a nice addition. Plus there were always new locations. Mini games kind of weird at times and so much to read about the story. Overall worth playing.
Had all of the elements I appreciate in these games: #1 a map, #2 a decent story line, #3 nice graphics, #4 quality voice overs (though there could have been more as I'd rather it be read to me than having to do it myself) and #5 lots to do. Story is this: Girl goes to haunted house, plays games, friends disappear, girl has to go through house and gardens meeting ghosts along the way that tell her why her friends have disappeared. It's a decent story based on so many classics. Worst part were the HOG games. I had to work for each one. I'd rather a list and I go to it or have to find pieces and put things together. This on required a lot of thinking and sometimes I found myself just clicking on anything to see if it would react and I could move on. Good one overall.
I downloaded this just because it was available and I needed something new. I was so pleasantly surprised. Complex story, great voiceovers, great graphics, tons of scenes to work through, excellent interactive map so you don't have to march all over the place, innovative mini-games. HOS were somewhat complex, but in casual mode if you hover for a minute you get a sparkle to help. Satisfactorily long. I really enjoyed it!

This game has similar play I thought to the House of 1000 Doors series, including the map, this map is interactive and takes you straight to the scenes rather than having to backtrack through the game - although I tended to only use the map when I got very stuck as I find it more challenging having to remember where things are. If you can put aside the rather gruesome topic this is a great game and a good balance of HO plus tasks (I tend to get a bit bored with pure HO). In terms of gameplay one of my favourites - I rarely review games but think this one deserves a good write up. I played using a funpass but didn't purchase it as I don't tend to replay this type of game.
I would have given the game a 3.5. Always Love the jump map!!Although I rather have the clear, crisp HO"s, not the click n see if something is there.

I enjoyed this one,it was really fun... The graphics were great, scary music sets the tone,HOS were right up the middle, the puzzles were easy to hard and could be skipped with no penalty, interactive map made back and forth travel a snap, good hint button, unlimited hints, refill over a short time, really interesting story, kept me involved, and great characters I cared for... Really good all around game...give it a try,you won't be disappointed... as always HAPPY GAMING EVERYONE !!!
gr8 HOG. the map is very, very helpful-shows you where you have more to complete, and you can jump from area to area with the map. the mini games are very challenging-had to skip a few. the story was creepy, and intriguing. the ending was satisfying. not for kids, tho.

I spent more time "running around" in the game and not enough challenge. Puzzles too easy as well.

good storyline, excellent scenes, and above all, diffferent kinds of minigames are my favourate. besides, it is long enough to satisfied those who's indulged in HO games. the whole game is somewhat easy but interesting.

This game is a great story and it's relaxing enough to be boring. It's relaxing so that you enjoy the tasks and the overall outcome to the story.

This game appears to have problems with items disappearing and not working properly for many users. Example: Small mirror is placed and disappears. Once it is lost from the inventory the game is dead and needs to be reinstalled. Forums show that there are many issues with black screens, items missing, HO scenes not functioning properly.

I really enjoyed this game....The story line kept me wanting to keep going to find out the ending....and what a wonderful ending it was....I love any game that has to do with Halloween...the characters and voice overs were great and i enjoyed the minigames as well.....the hidden objects were hidden just hard enough but not too hard..I thought the graphics were amazing...I was very grateful for the map I did have to use it a few times in some sticky spots but it wasn't extremely difficult...Would love to see more games like this one...
The more I played, the move involved I became. Great graphics. There are many portals, so use your map. It gives you the great advantage of being able t jump to your next location. HO's were not too difficult. Hints recharged pretty quickly. Mini games were new and somewhat challenging, but you always had the option to skip. Hope you enjoy this game as much as I did.

The story line on this game is rather interesting and quite complicated, as there are a lot of characters/spirits with which to interact. There are many scenes in many places, but a map is provided that shows you where actions need to be accomplished as well as taking you there with a click, which avoids what would have been a lot of back-and-forth. There are not a lot of voiceovers, so in between what few there are you have to read the dialogue. The HO scenes are more difficult than the norm, with quite a few extra actions to perform in order to retrieve all the objects. The minigames ranged from easy to somewhat difficult. Some took quite a bit of time, and some were quite unique. The graphics were clear, and the music was in keeping with the theme. The cutscenes were a bit clunky, but this did not detract from the game. This is a very involved game and quite a long one, but the story line is fairly complete at the end. This is a game worth playing. With the challenging HO scenes and minigames as well as the longer length, you get your money's worth.
Great graphics, good storyline, nice size (not too short) and it keeps you involved. Thank God for the map and there is a generous hint button which recharges quickly, so you won't get stuck. I found a few glitches which were minor in nature and won't prevent you from proceeding. All in all a good game.

This game is VERY involved. A complex story with lots of twists and thank goodness there is a map to help you get from place to place. The graphics are very nice the music calm and muted. Voice acting is good. Hidden objects are crisp and clear though all involve finding objects within objects and combining items in scene. This makes the game longer and more interesting.. The story is odd and very unique. Mini games are varying degrees of difficulty but mostly fun and intriguing. Can be skipped if desired. Though difficult at times there was enough on hand assistance to help over the humps and was for the most part an enjoyable game.
The game and story were very good. The graphics were excellent and the music went along with the game play and story line. Hint button was very helpful, and so was the map and journal. The only drawback I found was that the mini-games were rather difficult and time consuming which took you away from the heart of the game itself. Other than that I enjoyed playing Shadows - Price for Our Sins.

At first glance I thought this game would be childish but I was surprised. The visuals are great. That's always a plus. The Hint button can be used for HOS, actions in game play and navigation. Another plus. And there is an interactive map which is always a bonus. There are quite a few HOS with a little extra feature and even more puzzles. None of which are frustrating. I also thought the mini-games were innovative. For a greater challenge I suggest Expert Mode because Casual has a lot of sparkles assisting you. The story was exciting right in the beginning and the plot continues to pull you along while game play keeps you busy. Although it has a darker theme (which I usually go for) it is on the light side. It may be taking place on Halloween but it can be played in any season. It was a pleasure to play but not one of my favorites.
