I enjoyed this game at first. The computer plan also plays match three, which makes nice twist. After a relatively few plays, however, the game becomes boringly repetitive. The mini-games are extremely easy and just a complete waste of time.

I got this game because of the other reviews. I play a lot of match 3 puzzlers and it's hard to find good challenging games anymore. The thought behind the game is original but the AI is not very intuitive. If you're good at these types of games, its easy to beat a level in less than 2 minutes. I finished the game in 5 hours. The awards, talismans and upgrades are way too easy to obtain. However, the thought behind the game was original and the graphics were nice.

I found this game to be surprisingly challenging. It takes some strategy with the talismans to continue a perfect record of destroying the enemy, without the enemy destroying you! I will have to replay it to try for that perfect record. The graphics are really good, eye catching. The music goes well with the story. The storyline is adequate and doesn't interfere with getting on with the game. The mini games are easy. I would recommend this if you like match 3 games, with some strategy involved.

My husband and I play this game side-by-side on our computers. It's one of the best games I've bought! The music is incredible - sounds like a movie soundtrack. The colors are vibrant and the graphics are awesome! Love the choice of talismans. Just wish the story line was a little more mature and indepth. Overall, it's exceptionally enjoyable and we both give it two thumbs up!!!!!

The twist in this game is that you make 3 moves then the computer makes 3 moves. However, If either you or the computer makes a match of 4 or more, you get an extra move. Depending on which matches you make your ship and the computer's ship engage in a battle. Another interesting thing is that prior to every battle you choose to sail as merchant, guardian, corsair or spectre, each of which has different skills and which influences which crystals you have to collect to activate your special skills. Between battles you can also upgrade your ship which gives you more power and durability. All in all an interesting twist to match 3.

I'm not usually a Match-3 (M3) fan, but I was drawn by the sea/pirate theme. Very positive experience! Great graphics, excellent background music. Tutorial could be better, but it's pretty intuitive. Much more than your basic M3 game! First, you play against the computer, alternating salvos, collecting booty, etc. Second, there are puzzles along the way (though somewhat repetitive). There's a running narrative that can provide some guides to strategy - and there's a lot of strategy and tactics to this game. You can upgrade your ship with gold won in battles and puzzles. You can select which type of ship you want to be, and you win "talismans" which offer specific advantages. Some talismans can be used effective in combination with jewel stones (the computer tells you which works best when you select your type of ship). As for tactics, always try for a match of 4 or 5 - results in extra turn(s). Plan ahead: don't leave a valuable match or broadside for your opponent (the computer). Very pleasant surprise - try it, you might like it - I sure did!

You are a pirate of four ships - defeat enemies with fast-paced sea battles (match-3), along with memory/match like symbols in the mini-games. The graphics are beautiful and the battle sounds are great. The only drawback is that the cannon balls will make the whole screen shake and for me that was an issue - you can not turn it off! While this game is not timed, your attacks depend on which three-items you choose to match, which items the enemy ship chooses and the combined decisions between the both of you. You collect gold (money) that can be used to buy a better ship. Your choices and decisions will increase your experience/fighting abilities and making this game re-playable many times over.

So much more than just a match three game - longer matches provide extra turns; playing against the computer adds strategy. Each level adds bonuses, for both sides, and they aren't necessarily the same which gives some surprises. By choosing your ship and talismans you can increase the difficulty of the game or try out different power stances. We have had this game well over a year, and it is one that gets played regularly. The mini-games are easy, but they are fun - and isn't that the point of playing a game?

I usually don't like match 3, I find them boring and to easy, but this game really wowwed me. Its fun, it' s challenging, and the part that you are battling against another army, which has more ships than you do, is great. Honestly, I still havn't beat this one yet. Great Fun!

This game is a real unexpected surprise. The graphics and music are fantastic. It's a match-3 game, but with enough story elements and strategy thrown in to make it interesting. There are even several puzzles of varying types woven into the game which you encounter when you find obelisks. This helps add variety to the gameplay. The ability to customize your ship using talismans allows you to come up with your own strategy and there's actually a lot of strategy involved, since it's you versus the computer. I really love everything about this game. It's a real gem, and if you like matching games or games with strategy and customization and story, this is a good choice. My only complaint is that a clever player will be able to max out their ship about halfway through. I really wish there were more upgrades available, it would make the last stretch of the game more interesting.
